[near the abbey]
the sparkmage apprentice approached the abbey carefully, not fully aware of what is going on, he heard shouting and heard footsteps coming up the stairs, and started to see figures of men near the bottom of the stairs, he then ran back to the other mages and Gradus. "what did you see, man?" asked Gradus, wondering what is going on. "I saw some men coming up the stairs, shouting, and I smelt blood and heard fighting going on." the apprentice said. "ok men, prepare to fight, me and the arc mages up front, and every one else follow behind, lets go!" said Gradus as he and the group started to walk towards the abbey and down in it.

vaaxx blinked seeing the man shout then retreat up the stairs. after he was a good distance away she slipped into shadow and followed silently wiping her claws on her already heavily bloodstained robe.

[the top of the abbey]
"there are some now!" said Gradus as a few men came up the stairs. "don't attack, let's try to get some information out of them first." Gradus said. "you, what are you doing here" asked Gradus to the group of soldiers that came from the stairs.

"You don't... want... down there," Arkaine gasped out. "Phyrexian... horrible...." The bloody and utterly exhausted soldiers followed him, dragging their fallen comrades. Arkaine hoped that the Phyrexian might not give them chase into the open plains, and they could reach the Tower. "Can you help me get to the steppe?" he asked the mage. Arkaine didn't care who this was; he was human, and that was enough.

vaaxx slipped out of the entrance to the abby as silent as she could,slipping into a shadow, still watching them "what will they do now" she thought as she pulled the hood of her cloak over her head.

Having something heavy step on him was the last straw. Not only was he sick and tired of being stuck in the mud, muck had been seeping into his insides as well. In atypical zombie fashion, Hekeaga burst out of the ground to try to grab whatever it was that was stepping on him. If it was humaniod in any way, this should scare the crap out of it. Unfortuneatly, when he inacted his plan, what he found himself looking at probably scared him more than he scared it...

impervius and his vanguard, hearing the quiet upstairs, slid out of the shadows of the crypt and into the main body of the alley. Impervius, blending in with the shadows cast by the pale moon, slid to the stairs to the top of the alley and paused, seeing the two planeswalkers speaking.
He would follow them, and attack when he deemed the time right.

(nooooo, I was grounded...still am, I had to sneak on...oh well)
"are you ok?" Gradus asked the wounded man, as his mages stood there, confused. "they look hurt, men, lets help them out, we might be able to stand a chance out here if we have some allies, and also...it seems they know the place better than us, so help them out" he said, as he extended his had to help up the wounded man.
