A snort, ha, no one could stop Mashki when she latched onto something like that. "Just...go to sleep, Cael." She followed the orders given to the greem stallion and slipped away.
---------------------------
Azariel woke to the sun streaming into the teepee. She hated when that happened. Opening aqua eyes she looked around sleepily. It took a moment for her to realize that she was both not alone and something was currently laying across her neck. Slowly turning her head to see who and what it could possibly be and was welcomed with the signature green coat of Caelen.
Oh, great.
She grumbled softly, the memories flodded back as she promptly side-stepped away from under him. She was embarrassed by this whole episode. What was going to happen now?

Caelen woke to the feeling of something shifting away from him. A whaa? It wasn't nice for his little mare to ru n away from him when he wasn't awake. His green eyes opened slowly the dry cotton taste in his mouth needed to be rinsed away with some water then he'd have fun making Azariel walk her leg out. She'd probably be a bit grumpy with him.
oh what fun.
"Come now lass, why would ye walk away from me when I was havin' such a lovely sleep." Caelen yawned widely and shifted closer to her, "How's yer foot feelin' lass?"

Azariel snorted, shaking her head, "Because I was awake and wanting to move?" She answered as if it were obvious, "Besides, it should be time to wake up, anyway." She was never in a good mood when she woke up, Caelen made it worse. Yipee.
He shifted closer to her and, rather then simply shift away, she walked toward the teepee entrance, "My leg is fine, thank you," She replied, "Just a bit sore." She winced as she was forced to lift it to get it out the opening.
"And how are you this fine morning, Caelen?" She asked gilbly, looking back at him, still partially asleep.

A huge yawn was forcibly held back by the slightly-cranky green stallion. If the little thing was thinking he'd be groveling at his feet for keeping him out half the night, half-drowning him, and then being benign enough to allow him to sleep with his neck holding her close.. HA! She was in for a world of .. fighting.
The wince was fairly obvious and it took a heaping pile of tightly stretched patience to keep him from snapping at her. "Lass if yer hurtin' enough ter wince then it's night fine." Stubborn creature.
Gorgeous mare. Damnit! Where had that come from? ... least it wasn't out load.
"Ye damn well know I'm nae verreh awake and I'm nae in the mood fer chit-chatterin's. Now.. point me in the direction of the nearest water." He had slipped up last night letting her know he knew where she lived. He'd play dumb for awhile at least.

Azariel snorted, "I did tell you, I'll live. It's not the worst I've had and it won't be the last wound I acquire." She huffed softly, hovering between appreciative of his concern and simply amused by it.
She looked at him softly, taking her time before answering, "I thought you knew where my home was?" He may be trying to play dumb, but she certainly wasn't going to let him forget his stalker-tendencies. She shook her head, letting it go, "C'mon then, Caelen, I have something I want to say anyway."
She sighed and headed off toward the little stream nearby. It was just the right spot for a hot summer's day. Shady and cool, even in the scroching summer heat.

Moving lazily towards her, his eyes still only partially open. The green stallion really wasn't in his most charming mood when the sun was still not even 1/4 of the way up into the sky, "Humph, yer plannin' on takin' up a life 'o fightin' eh? Scrappy creature." Normally he'd appreciate it.. right now he wanted water.
"I made it a point ter learn where yer home was before I took some time ter think. It wouldna 'ave been smarter fer me ter just take off and assume ye lived where I found ye at." The easiest explaination was the truth, if she got cranky he'd just run off for awhile. At least til noon.
Hmm.. somethin' ter say? Well then, that'd be most interestin' ter learn. His pace picked up just enough to match her slightly unable pace. It seemed like she was moving a bit more easily.

Azariel looked back at him for a moment then away, "No, nothing like that," She carefully stepped over a fallen tree branch, "I just know that I will be hurt someday and..." Another glance, "not all of it will be physical." She breathed in the cool morning air, enjoying it for the brief moments until it heated from sunlight. She hated heat.
A chuckle, "Really now? How thoughtful of you Caelen, I never would have thought of that. Shows a bit of my ignorance to the world." Good lord, was she being civil? She was still half-asleep. Yes, that was it.
What was she going to say anyway? It would be nothing incredibly romantic, Az had never been one to produce that sort of thought process. She wasn't a romantic girl in any sort of the way. It would be harder then. Oh well.

It took a firm restraining hand on his emotions not to laugh at the little mare. Oh she'd a be a fighter all right, for the rest of her life really. Especially if he stuck around to keep arguing back and forth and back and forth, "Now lass, ye can't plan ter always be bashin' others in can ye? S'not the best way ter make friends, ye ken?"
"Ye'll learn lass, ye'll learn. Last night I was headed yer way ter see if ye had missed me even a wee bit." Grinning and managing to make his old charming self peel out of sleep. "Ho-hum..." What to say?
The water appeared soon enough and Caelen greedily dipped his mouth into the water, sucking up mouthfuls of fresh cool water. Licking off his lips and waiting in turn to see if she needed to drink or not.. "What did ye want ter tell me?"

Azariel snorted, "Friends...I have plenty of and none can't take a bashing without giving it right back." She snorted softly, "Any friend of mine has to give as good as they get. Life isn't for the passive." A chuffing sound, "Because then life is just boring."
"Missed you?" She turned and looked at him, curious. Had she? She'd missed fighting, she'd missed company in general, she missed....him? She couldn't have, they'd barely met each other; barely done anything other then fight. How could she miss anything else then that?
Taking a few sips of water to cleanse her mouth she finally sighed and looked at him, "It's nothing terribly important..." She shook her head, "...and I don't do this very often so bear with me, but..." She sighed again, "Thank you. For helping me back there."

"Life isna fer the over-aggressive now is it lass?" What she had said he agreed with for the most part, just had to be careful not to become to much of an extremist, "I have ter say lass I've nae made many friends save fer you and Lovey."
Ahh, she couldn't answer the question? Well that was just about as good as her exclaiming to the whole world that she was head-over-heels for him. A-Ha! What a lovely day! Damnit, ego-check time.
"Yer welcome lass, but any other Soquili that had found ye would 'ave done the same fer ye." He preened a bit before wrapping his neck over hers, "I'd nae be happy if ye had been hurt and out all night." Rubbing against her for a moment before backing off, "Now my lovely cripple, where would ye like ter spend today?"

Azariel shook her head, smiling despite herself, "Then I say you should find some more friends. Having only females for companionship isn't healthy for a male." She shook her head, chuckling, "And neither Lovey nor I are particularly normal examples either." She paused and corrected herself, "At least...last time I saw Lovey."
That was depressing, especially since she hadn't seen the poor mare in a while. She...missed the older one, wanting to know what she had been up to.
A snort, "Right. Honestly, Caelen, do you think I would have let another one help me?" She rolled her eyes dismissively. Her skin twitched as he touched her again, "Caelen..." She turned and eyed him coolly, "What are you doing?"
At his words, she bristled instantly, "Cripple, I am not!" She hissed, "I told you before, I'm perfectly fine, thank you!" She glared at him. That had hurt, and more then it should have.

"I know lass I'm a wee bit too anti-social. Ye see I've met a few different people, but uh.. I'm actually probably goin' ter get a royal tongue lashin' from Lovey if I venture ter find her." Would he tell Azariel about the last month or so and how he had been unable to resist coming back.
He was supposed to be searching, but why search for something or someone he truly hoped never to find.
The little thing was getting better and better at letting him get close to her. Maybe he should make one of those time-line things. On day one she threatened my life.. and on day 80 she only asked me what in the hell I was doing. Life sure was funny.
"Now lass, ye've got ter learn ter play with me. I called ye that cuz I know very much yer not." He nudged her muzzle with his softly, "Do I have ter apologize ter make ye happy with me again?"

Azariel looked at him curiously, tilting her head to the side...a repeated mistake. She chuffed loudly, throwing wisps away from her face, "What happened? Did you do something to upset her?" She was curious, so sue her.
A snort, "Play with you?" she chuckled, "You're hell to play with, and I don't think I would know that much a bout playing would I? At least..." She looked at him sideways, "...Not the way I would originally think." Nostrils flared, unconscously drinking in his scent. A delicious one at that. Fresh and foreign with a hint of--crap, back to reality, please!
"Mm..." She shrugged her shoulders non-commitably, "You might have to, but you know very well that I wasn't very angry to begin with." She shook her head, turning to lead the way back to her home, "Are you done? Mashki will be looking for us soon."

The look on her face was almost worth paying money for. For the first time in a long while it seemed he had piqued her interest. If only because he was in trouble with another mare. "Oi lass, I doubt ye be wantin' ter know all the gory details, eh?"
"Ye think I'm one that's hell, eh? Oh-ho yer a funny creature. I've never had more fear fer me own ribs than the time I've spent with yer lovely self." That in and of itself was true, but several times he had pushed her farther than he figured he'd be permitted just to see the outcome. "Now lass, oh! Are ye listenin' seems ye've gone off inter yer own world at least fer a bit.. Am I that dull, eh?"
With a quick half-turn Caelen trotted up besided her and slowed his pace to a walk to keep beside her. Hmm, it'd be a short walk home but could he fuss with her just a bit on the way there? Probably couldn't hurt. Holding in his chuckle Caelen began to "innocently" wrap his tail around hers... teasing a bit and perhaps tickling.

Azariel snorted, shaking her head, "Lovey is a friend of mine," She pointed out, an eyebrow raised, "Why wouldn't I be concerned over what has happened?" She chuffed softly, wondering what Caelen could have done to make Lovey angry. It would have to be some sort of gift to do that.
She looked at him accusingly, "Fear for your ribs, huh? And why would you think I would be that....painful to you?" She raised an eyebrow speculatively. Had she come across as that violent? She shook her head dismissively.
"Caelen..." She sighed and looked at him fully, "Do you get off on making me angry?" She chuckled softly, "And honestly, if you want to laugh at me, do it, you've been looking like you'll explode for a while." An ear twitched dissendence. She didn't want to be laughed at in any way, but Caelen looked near exploding.
