"Ok, good." Heero said with a nod before turning back to the symbol. "The three outer circles, starting from the top, and moving clockwise are writ in, first - growth energy, second - destruction energy and finally third - sealing energy."
Finishing the explanation, the kitsune pressed his hand firmly against the symbol, activating it. As he did the spot on the rock began to glow, and as he pulled his hand away, a large anchoring ring grew from the stone.
"As I said, the instructions are inlaid at the time of drawing. But in the main part of the symbol, in this case the triangle and circle with in." Looking back to the girl yet again he gave a small grin. "To inlay the instruction, visualize what you wish to have happen, and place that image with in the energies used for the main part of the symbol...now, if you understand, I'd like you to try it."
Serge returning the grin and nodded. He was glad that everything was ok.

A grin on her face, Rogue took Serges' hand in hers and began to walk to the 'pretty' area. Once Rogue was satisfied with their destination she let go of Serges' hand and ran for a big tree close by.
Tucking the flower from her hand in behind her ear she quickly grabbed onto the first branch and began to get higher and higher at a steady pace. She looked down from a few branches up and laughed.
"Come on Serge, come play with me!"
Minerva closed her eyes and a flurry of thoughts and images flew into her mind. What should she visualize? What did she wish would happen? A few choice thoughts became more present but she pushed them back, no need to think of such impossible things.
Her hand hovered above the symbol on the rock and she could almost feel her fingers tingling. Suddenly her eyes flew open to find her perspective different than it was before, or maybe something else was different...
Where the tips of her fingers pointed, behind the symbol slightly, stood a purple tulip. In her state of concentration she must have accidentally done what she wasn't intending to do. The flower had grown and now stood taller than any tulip in the history of tulips, it was pretty in an odd way. She now understood a little bit more why your head must be clear of all stray thoughts before trying such an act.
"I wanna try this again."

Heero, little amazed by the sight of the girl's growth simply chuckled and shook his head. "For now, make the symbol and try and get it to create a loop anchor, for a rope."
Serge grinned and that and nodded his head once before jumping up and catching the first branch, and then the next, chasing Rogue up the tree.

((omg, so Minerva growing completely killed my muse. So I changed it. heart Back to rping, lol.))
Minerva shut her eyes again and focused her mind and her energy on the task given to her. She could feel tingles throughout her fingers to her wrist as she took a slow breath, then suddenly felt different, the tingles were gone.
She opened her eyes to see; success! She turned to Heero and grinned.
Rogue giggled as she climbed higher on the tree, once satisfied with her position she sat down and swung her legs slightly. In the distance she could see Minerva and Heero... by a rock? At times magic definitely seemed a little boring.
Glancing down to see Serge following her, she plucked a small acorn from the branch next to her and dropped it so it would drop past him. "Incoming!"
She was aiming for it to fall in that small hole in the bottom of the tree trunk.

Heero returned the grin with his own. "Good, good. Now, something a little harder." The kitsune said as he stood and walked over to the center of the to would-be campsite. "I want you to use the same symbol as just a second ago, but this time I want you to write in different energies for the three out circles."
Drawing out the design in the dirt, but not scribing it Heero went on. "For the first circle, in this case the north most circle," The man said as he point to the one he was referring to. "I want you to use destruction energy, then clockwise to the second circle, I want you to use alteration energy, and finally the third circle, once again sealing energy." After finishing the explanation, Heero stood up and back away. "The end goal is a sunken fire pit, and don't worry if you don't get it right the first try, I'm more than able to reset everything."
~*~
Serge ducked to the side quickly just to be safe, and watched as the acorn hit the rim of the small hole, bouncing before dropping in.
Serge gave a small laugh before looking back up toward Rogue. "Nice shot." The boy said with a smile before pulling himself up further in the tree.

((omg, I had this almost finished and my friend closed it. ;___; ))
Minerva furrowed her brow slightly. Different energies and all at the same time? She was slowly drifting away from her comfort zone.
Thinking over what she had to do, she closed her eyes and tried to focus on the tasks at hand. Once she was almost done the first she began to realize how simple it was. That was her mistake.
She could feel something like an energy build up fluttering about, but no matter how much she tried it simple dissipated, leaving her very frustrated with a frown on her face as she opened her eyes.
Rogue grinned as the acorn landed exactly where she wished it to, with the help of some bouncing of course.
She watched Serge climb the tree further, practically to where she was by now. She moved and rested on the large branch with her back against the trunk. It was such a nice day but she couldn't help but worry some. Little things in this world always seemed to have a large affect, and she knew that something was going to be different going home, she just hoped that it was a good something.

Heero watched closely as the girl tried, noting what she got and what she missed. Nodding to himself as he saw her eyes open out of the corner of his own, he looked to her face.
"Minerva...it seems I've mislead you in the concept of scribing these symbols." The fox man said in a soft tone. "You need not write them all at once, you can write them one piece at a time. As you improve, you will learn to scribe them like I do, but for now, it's ok to take it a step at a time."
~*~
"So..." Serge said as he reached the same level as Rogue and set himself in a similar fashion a branch over from her. "Are you looking forward to when your training starts?" The boy asked with a knowing grin.

Minerva was silent as she took in his words. Ah, so that was it, she had jumped too far ahead of her abilities.
She simply nodded in response as she closed her eyes and tried again. It just didn't seem... comfortable. Assuming it was simply out of her 'comfort-zone', she knew she would appreciate her Latin-speaking, wand-waving technique even more so once she was through with this.
She knew she was getting it right this time around, well so far. Once each step was done she almost felt something lock into place. As the final lock was sealed and she felt confident enough to, she opened her eyes an examined her work.
A sunken fire pit.
Minerva grinned. And that was the easy stuff.
Rogue didn't respond right away, she thought about the answer. "Yeah, Ah am. Ah'm pretty sure Ah am, anyways." She turned to Serge and grinned, brushing a stray piece of white hair behind her ear.
"What exactly will mah training be?" She was anxious to know what awaited her, hopefully she could pull it up to snuff so that she wouldn't be a total embarrassment.

"Very well done." Heero said with a nod. "I think that's enough for today, practice it now and then between lessons, and you'll find it much easier." He said with a smile.
"Also, feel free to use other energies, to try and get your own desired results." He added with a chuckle. "Think about what you want to do before choosing the energies though, ok?"
~*~
"Hmm...well..." Serge said thoughtfully. "When I told him you wanted to learn, I had said hand to hand, so I'd guess that will be the main focus...but I doubt he'll let you go with out teaching some form of weapon skill."

Minerva beamed from the praise, and even though she wouldn't admit it she was almost glad that the first lesson was done. She was used to learned her magic herself, now she was learning anothers magic by anothers teaching.
She wanted to explore and examine things around here before she got too involved in her studies. "Alright, sounds like a plan." She smiled and nodded up at Heero before taking out her wand and pointing it at the empty space next to her. The words Inanimatus Conjurus were spoken quietly before a broom appeared next to her.
She grasped the mahogany tinted broomstick and turned to Heero, "Now, if you'll excuse me." She settled herself on the broom before nodding politely and zooming away through the clearing and into the trees, she wasn't sure how long they were going to be there and she wanted to find a spot just for herself.
Rogue's grin dimmed slightly. "Weapon? But Ah don't wanna hurt nobody, this is all just self defense stuff." Her thoughts then drifted off to a certain grass-haired boy and his demon brother. "On second thought, maybe learning how to use weapons wont be so bad.... but Ah doubt that Ah'll be good at maneuvering with a weapon, probably wont ever have one on me 'cause of the inconvenience of having it." She said with a small cute chuckle.

"It is all going to be for defense training, I promise." Serge said as he let his eyes turn skyward through an opening in the tree's branches. "But, if you think about it...just because you don't want to use a weapon, don't mean your enemy will forgo the use of one..." The boy began to say before sudden getting cut off...
~*~
Heero stood up and grinning and walked away from the campsite, and over to a clear area big enough for a sparring match.
With a flick of his wrist, grin still on his face, a portal opened, dropping his next student, and his teaching aid right in front of him. "Heheh, hope you're ready, cause training, starts now." The fox man said, as he looked down at Rogue's and Serge's dumbfounded faces.

Rogue simply nodded, that was good. Her simply innocent mind could not conjure up the many reasons why one would rather attack then defend.
She opened her mouth to interrupt when she suddenly found herself being pulled to the ground, where she fell a little ungracefully. She sat up and looked at Heero and with a slight tone to her voice, she spoke "Y'anno, ya might wanna fix yer teleporting services, maybe a complimentary cushion?"
She stood up with a smile and brushed the hardly-there dirt off her sleeves.

Serge gave a sigh and shook his head. His shock had simply been from timing, not what happened. "Its worse when it's your wake up call...trust me." The boy said before getting to his feet and looking to his dad.
"Heheh...be glad it wasn't over freezing cold water like last time." Heero's grin gained an evil edge as he said that. "Taught you to never sleep later than told though."
Turning his attention to Rogue, his mood seemed to turn from teasing to serious in a split second. Walking over to the girl, he looked her up and down. "We'll start you off with hand to hand combat...then move on to dagger training I think." He said with a nod. "Your frame his too lithe for anything larger...it'd just hinder you in a fight."
Nodding to himself, he walked to the edge of the sparring area and turned back toward Rogue. "Alright, I want you to simply block and dodge, got that Serge?" He asked, with out so much as looking at the blue haired boy, and still he caught the nod. "Ok, Rogue, I want you to attack Serge, do your darnedest to hit him."

Minerva slowed to a halt on her hovering broom. Her head turned back to the clearing which she had dashed away from, she sensed more magic happening. Could Rogue be starting her training already?
She turned around and began heading back at a slower pace, enjoying the scenery more as she did a slow round-about of the clearing before she swept off to find where Heero was keeping the kids.
A grin graced Rogues' lips as she pulled a pair of deep-green fingerless gloves out of her pockets. She pulled them on to their snug fit
Of course it was obvious she was simply playing, but she couldn't help but speak up, "Don't cry too much when Ah hit'cha, don't wanna feel too bad about it." It was obvious that she wasn't serious yet again as she didn't move. Sure she had put herself into a familiar stance, but it took a minute for her to actually move.
She took two slow steps forward before she kicked off the ground and launched at Serge, aiming most of her punches to his shoulders and stomach, one to the left temple and then sliding to the ground to swing her legs under his to drop him to the ground.

Riku panted lightly as he slid back a little ways. He and Glenn had decided to spar after wondering off, they'd not really hung around long after the dad had started teaching Minerva, neither adept in that sort of thing.
Glenn took a few gasping breathes from his current crouching position. He'd only just been able to push back that last attack. Two swords or not, his older brother was simply more powerful.
"G-guess I got a little ahead of myself...thinking I could spar on equal ground with you..." The ocean eyed child panted out, though too quietly yo be heard by anyone else.
Hinata sighed as she watched her brothers spar, they always seemed to get carried away with these things.
She just knew she'd have to make use of the bandages and balms she brought with here, she almost always had to...
~*~
Serge didn't react to the taunt at all, only standing with a light smile he'd learned from his father. The smile seemed to work well on his brothers, as they both always got ticked at it and would simply attack in anger with out thinking. It had quickly become one of his favorite weapons.
Caught off guard by the sudden burst of speed though, the boy's smile faded as as he sidestepped the first punch, frowning slightly as he felt it actually clip. Rogue was faster than she looked...and she looked pretty darn fast already.
Ducking under the next two shots toward his shoulders, and blocking one at his stomach, the boy twisted his upper body to dodge a wild punch at his head, leaving himself completely open off balance when the girl dropped and swept his legs out from under him.
"Ugh..." The boy groaned lightly as he stared up at the sky from his new lying position. "I think she's better than we expected dad..."
"So it would seem..." Heero confirmed as he looked at Rogue with an approving grin. "A little rough, and certainly unfinished...but you have potential to be quite the gem..." He said as he walked up with the girl and set his hand on he head. "I'm a bit curious where you got that stance of yours, but I'll ask later."
Heero nodded at Serge as the boy picked himself off the ground. "You can sit this next part out." He said, getting nod back from the boy. "Alright, now then, Rogue, I want you to try copying me few the next while, ok?"
