Claire just looked up for a moment, and cracked a smile much less forced than the last one.

"Joseph puts on a pretty face?" Using the possibly the most low tech thing on the desk she date stamped something, "Even that's asking a bit much."

"Oh come on." A voice came from behind the slowly opening office door, "At least give me dashing good looks. Beyond that I'm totally incompetent."

That comment stuck somewhere between self-mocking and self complimenting, was of course made by Joseph Brown. He looked quite a bit more presentable this time, yet still pushing the casual in business casual. He wore a dress shirt, but undone at the top and without tie. Over that a well fitted jacket, left unbuttoned of course. He had ditched the sling, but the crutch still remained. Not totally better yet.

"Come right on in Miss Browning," He held the door open, "Unless you want to talk directly with Claire, considering she runs everything and all."

Sam chuckled, then looked at Claire appraisingly. "We can at least go through the motions Mr. Brown. I'm sure Claire would appreciate you cutting through the BS for her." She left the trench coat out in the reception area, but her purse, she brought with her.

Pushing her hair out of her eye, she looked at the room they walked into. "I hope you aren't as injured as you looked earlier." She said with genuine concern.

"I'm a b*****d to kill, wouldn't worry about it." This actually wasn't a lie. For the amount of punishment Joseph willingly inflicted on his body, his body held up quite well. Perhaps it was the lingering regenerative powers of the symbiotic organism that once inhabited his body.

"But come in, sit down, make yourself comfortable." He made a comically overdramtic arm movement to his sitting area. He on the other hand made his way to the bar area and it's fancy looking decanters.

"May I interest you in a drink," He picked one of the crystal pieces up, "Or is this a purely business meeting?"

Business or not he really needed a drink. Well another drink, but that fist one was while he was changing and getting cleaned. Those don't count.

"Please. A..." remaining quiet for a moment as she thought, then decided to go for her own pleasure. "Double bourbon, neat if you have it." There was a charming smile as she then sat down, legs crossed at the ankle, like a lady proper.

"And despite Claire's claim, I would be a fool to pass up a chance to have a pleasurable conversation with the infamous Joseph Brown.." Her voice almost purred as she spoke, watching his movements carefully, as if to make sure he was as well as he said.

He gave a nod and a smile as he went to work on the drinks. Joseph usually hated organisation, that was something Claire and Lester were good at, but when it came to his mini bar... Well, all his ducks had to be in the proverbial line. He had multiple rows to his mini bar, up front were the entertaining drinks while the real stuff was in the back.

Joseph had the sinking suspicion he best bypass his "these idiots won't know the difference" whiskey and go for the authentic liquid in the back. Hey, Joseph may have expensive taste but his guests don't have to on his dime.

Pouring his guests request first, and then some unknown clear liquid on the rocks for himself he made his way over to the seating area. He sat the drinks down, and then sat himself down opposite of Sam. Leaned back slightly, one arm over the back of the glorified couch, and legs crossed at the knee. Just like a proper lady(killer).

"Now," his voice was as it always was, toeing the line between oaf and charming, "What temple do I have to throw money at in return for such a lovely visit?"

She just looked at him for a moment, then at her glass, before through it back neatly as the drink itself. "I'm not a religious person, Mr. Brown." Her body tilted to the side, propped up against her left shoulder, making her hair fall softly against it even as she switched which leg was crossed over which, giveing Joseph just a faint glimpse of the top of her stockings before they closed again.

"I have a business proposition for you."

"The god of money, check." Business and this sort of behavior in a woman was nomaly a red flag for most. Luckly for Sam, Joseph was the type to avoid common sense until the last possible moment.

Plus she was a fox. How could you argue with that?

"Business, eh?" An elbow hit the table and a hand hit his cheek as his lean shifted forward, "I'm listening Miss Browning."

And that type of behavior was exactly what Sam was counting on. "I have a company that does Research and Development. You have a company that supplies what people need. I think we could have a very charming partnership. My goods for your customers."

She leaned forward, her arms twisted backwards to where the hand was resting on the end of the couch as she uncrossed her legs as well, primly put her knees together.

"Shall I go on?"

"I would hope you would go on." His posture made another slight change as the hand on the cheek went to stroke a non existant beard.

"Considering I also have a Research and Development department," He timed his shrug right there, "Mind you there's a focus in construction robotics right now... That's what's in the latest ad campign at least, have you seen it yet? Good work on the firms part really."

"Anyway," He switched back to his neutral leaning back, "I'm sure there are labcoats that would love to work on something else and would be rather upset if I outsourced first. Though, I'm sure you have something to sell other than "general R&D"."

Ok keep focus... Gah! Legs!

Her arms raised above her heads, her entire body stretching out in accord, as if she had just woken from a good tumble and sleep. She then leaned back, her arms resting on the back of the couch and her legs stretched out in front.

"No, it's not just general R&D. We have technology that most R&D's barely dream about. One of our most impressive is something your boys would be interested in. The perfect merging of a robot and human mind. It has the conscience of a human, but the technical capabilities of a robot of the highest class. And it's only 4 feet tall."

"Your's is smaller." Was about all he said after a smile and a nod.

Theirs was also probably a good deal more ethical. Joseph was thinking of the Heavy Lifter, a vat grown human placed inside a machine. All it knew was claculation, he was more computer than human.

"While I apreciate the views, I'm wondering whats the need for the personal visit." He was clam now that he realized that this was like the internet... Seious business and all, "Saying you develop things and you need a distributor, that's low level business. I'm not even sure Claire would handle a transaction that mundane. Comming to me tells me you have something that you either need brought to the big names, or distributed without anyone knowing."
PostPosted: Tue Jul 11, 2006 5:15 pm

"Views?" She looked puzzled. Then blushed cleard down her top as she realized her legs were stretched out for easy viewing. "I...uh..." She shook her head, the hair tossing carelessly as she tried to regain her compsure.

"You're very smart, Joey." There was that little hint of a smile, barely enough to see any of her pearly whites. Whether she was embarrased or it was purposeful, the effect was still charming, if it seemed a bit innocent for a woman like Samantha.

"What I need is exactly that. I have some...items that certain people want. And they want them badly enough to kill for. Or rather I should say paying to pay quite a bit for the killing."

"You know normaly I would try and act innocent and send you away," Joseph gave another shrug followed by a grin, "But the first time I met you I was drving an armoured car full of adventurers. I can't exactly claim that was construction robotics related."

He finaly downed the liquid he poured earlier.

"I do know quite a few people who are willing to get a job done, hell some of them even work for me. And others just owe me favours, valuable things those favours."

This was the guarded side of Joseph. Most put their business out front and hid the personal side, Joseph on the otherhand acted the fool publicly.

"The question is how badly do you need Alpha through Epsilon's other distribution resources."
PostPosted: Tue Jul 11, 2006 5:42 pm

"I need them badly enough to find someone I trust. And though Seyumi Kaikou should be blond with the way she risks her neck, I don't think either she or more accurately, James Black would trust someone with their necks, if they weren't worth the trust."

She stood then, placing her hands behind her back as she paced with short clipped strides in front of Joseph. "I'll pay whatever it will cost me, Mr. Brown. It's too important not to. I owe a friend."

Well manicured fingers ran through her hair distractedly. "I'm not a goody goody, but I pay my debts."

"You should finish your drink. It'll calm your nerves."

"And that's what I was just saying about favours. They're a powerful thing." He watched her as she got up. She was either up to something or this was genuinly important, he was guessing important.

"And those names you just dropped are interesting. A woman of the cloth and a man so far from it, I can't help but find it funny that they are near inseprable." He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a small metal container, "The question is what do you owe, and who do you owe it too."

"Then we can figure out what I can do, and what you can do for me."
