Venera smiled, glad he saw the similarities. Many people didn't look close enough to do so. "Aye, we do. And I'm glad. Aphrodite would have wanted all of her female decedents to look at least a little like her." Of course, the Goddess would also look the most beautiful.

Gerard nodded absentmindly, before turning toward her. He paused, staring at her with an incredulous look, his head tilting to the side softly.
"We?" He inquired quietly, his eyes widening slightly as realization began to dawn.

Venera couldn't help but laugh a little. She never normally told people about her special ancestors but she couldn't help but like telling the story. "Aye, we. Aphrodite is my great-great-great-and so on grandmother." She then leaned in a little to whisper, "Just never call her old...or a grandmother. She doesn't like that very much."

Gerard's eyes darted to Venera's face, slightly wide to show the purple hints in them. He nodded slowly, pausing softly to gaze at her face. He studied the curve of her face, her eyes shape, her nose, her mouth, then with the image fresh in his mind, he turned toward the painting and studied it instead. He began to notice the slight differences, but the similarities were huge. He nodded again softly, turning to look once more at the demi-goddess.

Venera watched him study her closely. She wasn't really used to it but it was similar to having others stare at her just because she stuck out. "So, do I meet approval?," she asked with a smile. "We should probably catch up with the others or we'll lose them."

Gerard nodded softly at her first question, the smallest smile burning on his face. He looked ahead to see Alice and Angenette ahead of them, but within sight still.
"It's quite alright... Unless you don't want to hang back." He replied.

Venera tilted her head a little, glancing back at Alice and Angenette. She wondered if they had gone ahead because they wanted to look at other things or because they wanted to leave them alone. She had used the latter tactic with others. But whatever the case, Gerard seemed to be loosening up. "No, I don't mind hanging back. Is there something else in the area you would like to look at?" Most of the paintings seemed to be of Gods or heroes, the mythology of them having always interested her.

Gerard looked around carefully, trying to decide what he wanted to look at most. A small smile curled his lips back and he let out a chuckle.
"There isn't a god of pastries is there?" He inquired with a grin, shaking his head at the sorry joke he was making.

"God of Pastries?" Venera laughed lightly. "No, I can't say that I know of one. I think the closest I know of is Dionysus, the God of Wine." When he mentioned pastries, Venera thought of what Alice and Angenette had mentioned. "I was told that you bake. I would love to taste what you make some time."

Gerard blushed a little, turning to look at the two females who had wandered farther away.
"Yes... I bake. I think that you might be in luck." He paused with a soft smile meant to entice.

Venera's eyes lit up. "Someday I will have to try something of yours. I admit...I've got a large sweet-tooth." She blushed a little at the fact but she simply loved little cakes and pastries and such. The only sad part was that she could never seem to get them to come out right when she tried to bake for herself.

Gerard's smile extened to a large grin, his eyes glitting happily.
"Well... If i'm not mistaken, and I might be, I think I have a treat for you..." He paused, turning toward the two girls wandering away. "Alice? Oh Alice, dear come here." Gerard called after the blonde. She turned quietly, her blue eyes wide.
"Yes? What is it?" She inquired, her black shoes making a delicate clip-clop as she trotted across the floor back to the two.

((Sorry~ I had been visiting people and could only use the internet by leeching off wireless from a neighbor. >->; ))
Venera tilted her head a little at Gerard. A treat for her? Did he carry around pastries with him? Venera probably would just so she'd have some on hand where ever she went. She then looked to Alice when she was called over.

((Oh it's fine. I was just wondering. I'll probably be gone for a few days after this. Graduation. xd ))
"Alice. Didn't we bring a basket in with us?" He inquired quietly of the girl. Alice nodded softly.
"Well.. Yes actually. I put it near the front desk when Angenette was climbing on it." Alice replied softly. A wide green spread over the young man's face as he turned to Venera.

((Congrats~ I just graduated a couple weeks too. xd ))
Though he had spoken low, Venera had picked up the word basket. Had he actually brought some pastries with him? She then raised a brow at Gerard's grin. She liked seeing him smile. "Why the smile, Gerard?"
