((Woah, can you slow it up ivy? If its been hours, maybe spread it out over a few posts? Some of us just entered the bar, and a few hours passing could mess up the flow of time. Plus, someone may want to respond to the loud crack that was no doubt heard. Passing hours like that sorta throws things off. I don't really want to skip ahead that quickly. Not really done talking yet. sweatdrop ))

Arcus Shadowson
Arcus noticed the girl's anxiety, and deliberately threw the game by sinking the seven, five, and eight balls, in what seemed to be an accident.. "Ah damn." He said, and threw down his pool cue, which vanished in a puff of silvery smoke when it hit the table. "Well, we'll see you when next you can come in. If you need the Joint's phone number, I'm sure Ed knows it." He laughed, and brushed the hair out of his eyes.
“Thank you sir…” She smiled as she reached down and scooped her bag off the floor, her eyes shifting quickly to the bar before she left, waiving to Ed and Arcus before she was out of sight. Nanji ran down the street quickly, her feet thudding and her heart racing.

It was going to be a long night.

She rounded the corner and left the view of ‘The very questionable joint.” Her eyes glancing behind her just long enough to lead her sightless form into a street pole. The crack that responded was loud enough to cause an echo through the streets, her head now cracked open and bleeding as she hit the ground below her.

((Sorry Max, hate to do that but as things happen I can't help but wright things down and send... I hope this works better for you))

Vaatra had been rambling drunkenly to himself for a while now when he he had a thought, then he lost it...then he remembered it and said to himself and everyone near him. "Hey, I'm rambling drunkenly to myself. I should stop that." So he got up and meandered over to the pool table where his brother was and appeared himself a black and red pool cue. "What're we playin'? eightball?" He said to no one in particular, probably his brother. Then he decided that pool was a bad idea in his state so he disappeared it into a cloud of red smoke. Instead he decided to go over to the the bar and sit with the nice person who was drinking rum on the rocks. So He materialized a large glass for himself and set it on the table, "Rum Ed...and lots of it."

Ama looked through the doors of the joint for a long time, trying to decide if tonight would be a good night to drink; hell every night was a good night when you were constantly locked away. With a slow breath she finally opened the doors and stepped inside, hearing a loud crack before the doors closed.

“Hello…”

She smiled politely as she walked over to the growing crowd at the bar, her eyes sparkling slightly as she sat on one of the stools.

“Could I get a glass of schnapps?”

Ama looked to Ed for a moment while he began to move away, her eyes closing lightly as she laid her head on the bar. There was a warm smell to this place, like the smells of her house before her mother had died. With a small sigh she walked over to the pinball machine, running a hand over the smooth glass surface before going to the pool tables and running her hands along the funny textured cloth covering it.

Arcus tossed back the rest of his scotch, and rolled the glass into a sink at the far end of the bar. "Bourbon, you say? If bourbon's the word, I'm your man, and your bracelet is a fine one indeed. Ed, we'll no doubt need a fair share of glasses, and a fairer share of ice." He clapped twice, in an impatient manner, and, realizing he had overstepped his bounds with the bartender, apologized.

"It's awright Mr. A. I understand yer impatience." With that, Ed sauntered over to the ice chest, and pulled it over to where the man was sitting. He moseyed over to where they kept the glasses, and grabbed four, setting one each in front of Mr. A and the newcomer, Pax.
A loud crack rang out from outside the tavern. Arcus looked up, and walked over to the door, pushing it open and peering outside. He looked at the small figure sprawled out there. "Ed, help me with this, and Vaatra, keep an eye on..." He looked between Pax and the strange man who didn't talk. He pointed at the latter. "...That one." With Ed's assistance, he carried the girl, Nanji, into the bar, and up the stairs to one of the rooms. "Onto the bed, Ed." They laid her gently on the bed, and Arcus dismissed Ed.

Ed walked back down the stairs, a little worried that the new cook was injured, but this certainly wasn't the first time something like this had happened in the Joint, and it certainly wouldn't be the last. He looked at the girl who was feeling everything, and remembered she had asked for schnapps. "Hey, missus, what kind of schnapps would you be interested in consuming? We got everything from peppermint to peaches." He gestured arthritically to the range behind him.

Pax poured himself a shot the moment the bottles and glass were available, and was about to propose a toast, when a loud crack emanated from the streets. Arcus acted quickly, and it wasn’t until he point at the stranger sitting next to him that he realized there was anyone there. He down the shot gave the fellow a quick one over, and he instinctively pulled his bourbon closer, a small frown forming on his brow. He then looked back at the door and saw Arcus and someone else dragging a girl in. In typical Pax nature, his first hree thoughts were as follows-Is she okay? Does she have anything of value? If so, how do I acquire it? He got up and followed Arcus, watching which room the girl was put in. He hoped Arcus or Ed planed to return to the bar soon. He made his way back, planing to ask one of the two if the girl was alright once they arived. He looked foward once again, making note of he room where she was stored.

((Epp, missed adding something from word))

Nanji groaned as she was lifted from the ground, a few blood droplets running down her face and neck as Ed carried her back to the bar. She could feel him walking up the stairs she had seen and slowly her eyes fluttered open. “Arcus…” She mumbled lightly as she tried to focus her vision, her eyes blurry and bloodshot. Her head was spinning but she tried to sit up anyway, her whole body feeling shipwrecked.

Ama watched as one of the men in the bar and the bartender himself carried in some scraggly looking girl, her injuries surely looking worse then they really were. As soon as Ed had come back downstairs she waived lightly, happy that he had not forgotten about her request.

“Ummm… Peach?”

She asked him lightly, as if she were unsure of what she really wanted in the first place.

“Is that girl going to be ok?”

Arcus sat by the bed. When nanji muttered his name, he was leaning over her, checking the bandage on her split head. "Jesus kid, you allright? I wasn't aware Lampposts could do as much damage as that. I'm gonna call your folks, there's not a chance in hell you're gonna walk 'till at least tomorrow. You may have a concussion."

Ed hurried over to the bar, and found the peach schnapps. "Aye, that gel'll live. Albeit at the loss of a few brain cells, but hell, we can all spare 'em, no?" He twisted the cap off of the schnapps bottle, and realizing he didn't know how the girl wanted it, he queried. "How d'you want yer schnapps miss? Ah can put it on the rocks, er I can pour it straight.

Pax had abandoned the idea of using the glasses, instead opting to drink straight from the bottle. He listened with mile interest to Ed, but after he started talking about schnapps, he lost interest, and once again found himself lost in the bracelet, looking at it with fond eyes, or rather one fond eye. He kept the other eye, on the stairs waiting for Arcus to walk down them. He was clearly a distractible fellow, having moved about the bar more in the past ten minutes then most of its congregants did in a night. Still, he thought it better to be safe than sorry, and with a noticeable flourish, he withdrew a vial with strange unidentifiable blue liquid within it. He smiled at Ed, said “For a little extra pop” and added it to a glass. He filled the glass with bourbon, and downed it without flinching. It would hopfully prove useful later.

“Can’t call… lamp post?” She mumbled as she finally lifted herself up, her eyes rolling back for a moment, and tears beginning to roll down her cheeks. “Water please?” She asked him lightly as she tried to put her words together, her eyes shifting lazily around the room, and her hands gently folded in her lap.

“I suppose a few is no big loss.”

She laughed as she looked at the bottle.

“Actually my friend, could I have the whole bottle? My first night out in ages and I would like it to be something to remember…”

Her eyes traveled to the gentleman at the end of the bar and she eyed the bracelet he was holding. He was an odd fellow indeed and certainly one she would watch throughout the night, after all it was not everyday she got the chance to watch people as if they were prey.

While he kept his eyes forward and his bottle up, Pax could not help but feel as if someone were wacthing him. Carefully, he looked out of the corner of his eye, trying to see who was watching him without them becomeing aware of his insight. He drained the current bottle, a grabed a new one and felt the potion he had taken before start to kick in. He excused himself and headed for the bathroom, asking Ed to keep watch of his bottles. He kept his head down on his way inside, and once there went to the far stall. He sat there waiting, watching his hand so he would know when the invisabilty+ (invisable to most magic senses as well as sight) spell would kick in.

Ama watched the man carefully as he excused himself, her eyes glancing here and there as if she were nervous, perhaps even waiting for something. With a light sigh she went over to one of the couches near the door and sat, watching as the patrolmen began their nightly rounds. With a light sigh she closed her eyes and began to dose, her small black purse dropping to the ground and spilling a few pennies and things across the floor.

After a few moments of sitting there she reached down and picked her things back up, cradling the bag to her chest as if it were a small animal. Her first time coming to this place and already she had seen more then she had in eighteen years; it was still boring.

Vaatra sat there for a few moments, realizing that he was not going to get the rum he had asked for. So he got up, jumped onto the bar and then abruptly fell over onto the other side, landing promptly upon his head. "SON OF A b***h!" He yelled, much louder than he probably should have. Then, as if nothing had happened, he hopped up and went back to his aquiring of the rum. In his search he found what he wanted, good old Captian Morgan. Then he looked at the odd, quiet person, then he hurried up the stairs to his brothers side.

Arcus looked down at the girl in the bed, and listened to the rasp that came out of her mouth. ((Wow, unintentional innuendo... Imagine that...)) He hurried over the the sink in the bathroom connected to the room, and fashioned a glass out of Illiaster. He filled the glass, and walked back. "Yeah, on your way home you uh... walked into a lamppost. Knocked the s**t out of you, it would seem. In any case, I don't reckon you're one to be walking. Least of all any time in the next couple of hours." He took the glass that she proceeded to drain, and immaterialized it. "Now, I'll be setting around gettin' contact of your folks, since you won't be bein' home tonight, square? I'll need that number, and getting it shouldn't be a problem, unless you make it so, savvy?"

Ed screwed the cap back on to the bottle, and tossed it to the girl. It landed on the couch right next to her, leaned back against the cushions in a manner most unlikely. Some might even say it was pseudo-natural, which wasn't far from the truth. I'll tell you about Ed's... oddities... someday. He then walked back over to the other man, Pax, and settled down on the bartend's stool. "Where d'ya come from, mate?" he queried. When no answer came after some time, he realized that it wasn't indeed Pax, but some stigmatism in his eye. Ed was getting old, and now he was seeing things he shouldn't.
