Lovi grinned broadly, a new confidence stirring up in her. This was her home turf... this was her home... and she knew it like the back of her paw. Therefore, she thought nothing of dashing madly up the lightly-trodden and scent-marked path towards her family's den, with little concern as to whether the lioness was keeping up or not. If she couldn't keep up, it was her fault for being old! Lovi bounded along and laughed cheerfully as she went.
However, when they drew close Lolovivi quieted and skidded to a near hault. They had to be cautious now... just in case mother had gotten home after all. She glanced back at Raza, waited for the lioness to catch up, and whispered, "Wait here a second, 'kay?"
Having said that, Lovi trotted on ahead cautiously, trying not to make too much noise, although she had yet to develop anything that could be remotely called 'stealth'. All the same, when she arrived at the little clearing at the foot of the hill where her family made their home, Lovi didn't see a single soul. So she went on trotting back to her companion, and when she found her once again, the relief was spelled all over the pup's face. "All clear," she announced proudly, then turned tail and lead the way again.

Barazahi managed to keep up, though, it was a bit difficult. Barazahi kept checking the horizon for someone, anyone who might be hostile towards her. She guessed that Lovi's mom was black, so she searched for black spots. She stopped when Lovi told her, and kept checking the area around her, expecting a wild dog to come out of nowhere. She ducked as low as she could into the grass, but it was almost impossible to hide her blue body.
When Lovi returned, Raza asked, "Are you sure this is a good idea?" She followed just the same.

In her glee, Lolovivi giggled aloud and called back to her companion even as she skipped on ahead. "Of course it's a good idea, Miss Raza! It's a great idea! The best idea I've ever had! Besides..." She paused a moment to glance back at the lioness and give her a great wide smile. "...I want you to see my home!"
And the pup finally planted her paws on her home turf. It was quiet now, but her mother would be home any minute, and time was of the essence. Lovi nipped at her lip, surveying the scene, then pivoted about and looked up into the lioness' eyes. "Well, this is it! This is where I live!" she announced, tail lashing excitedly. "And... and now that you know where it is, maybe... maybe you can come visit me!" Her eyes were glittering with hope.
She hesitated a moment, then concluded, "Because we're friends now, right?"

Barazahi took a look around. It looked like a nice place, a nice den. It would be a nice place for one to raise a family, she thought. "It's very nice," She said honestly. It was bigger than she had expected, which, in her mind, was a good thing.
And then Lovi continued, and Barazahi felt a pang of regret. She sat down. "We're friends, Lovi," She said with a smile. "I'll visit when I can, but... our family is travelling to a Pride East of the Southlands, that's quite a way. But I promise, I'll keep an eye peeled for you, I'm sure we'll meet again." Barazahi doubted that she'd be able to stay in one area for long. Her whole life had been spent wandering the savannah, and as much as she wanted to get home, she'd never even been there. She wondered... The entire savannah truly was her home.
She would take trips, she was sure of it, and she would stop by. She was getting quite good at knowing where things were, how to get around. From the north to as far south as she had gone, Raza knew her way around by now.
"We will meet again," She said, looking down at the hopeful pup with a smile.

She beamed proudly and bounced a bit in place as the lioness complimented her home, but her cheer faded for a moment as Raza's expression faltered. Even as the lioness returned to a smile, Lolovivi stared up at her with wide, curious eyes. They WOULD meet up again, right? After all, mother was so protective of them, Raza was really the first creature she'd met outside the family, besides passing prey animals.
But she promised... and to a child, a promise meant everything. So once again, Lovi lightened, like the little beam of sunshine she ultimately was, and leapt to her feet, tail lashing a mile a minute. "Well, thank you for everything, Miss Raza!" she said. "Can't wait to see you again!"
She turned then and headed for the mouth of the den to check up on her little brothers... but paused a moment, and glancing back, she added, "And I hope the home you're going to is as pretty as mine."
And with a giggle and a wink, she disappeared down the hole. Home at last.
((Aaaaaaaand I think that's a wrap...))
