Another word for the american known Lolita is "Loli-con".
And not necissarilly spread the word, just answer peoples inquiries about the name of the fashion.

Blackrose Kaire Jazminny I despise the perverted ideas of "lolita's"; they give them a bad name. D:
It's one of the reasons I tend to get nervous and irritated when I mention "lolita's" in front of adults/etc., because they sometimes stare at me all odd and awkward. I sent my brother into the bookstore to ask if they had the gothic lolita bible...And the cashier looked at him in a very weird way and then I had to explain to the person what I was looking for and when we left my brother went"I am NEVER asking something for you again!!!! scream " I asked him to do just so I could see the ladies reaction honestly sweatdrop
Oh wow. -rubs my chin- I'm doing that the next time me and my brother goes to a bookstore or any type of store. xDD
But yes, I hate it when people misunderstands the different term of "lolita".

Blackrose Kaire I was searching ebay for gothic lolita dresses and one result on the page said "gothic lolita dress" but the outfit actually looked skankier then something a hooker would wear mad ,and yet they called it lolita. neutral Ive seen lots of things like this lately yes and its a shame because it deludes people into thinking Gothic Lolita just means 'DRESS LIKE A WHORE WITH EXTRA LACE' sad

The lingerie is based off of lolita fashion and that's what the big buisnesses use it as. They don't sell classic modest lolia because it doesn't work with their new definition of what lolita is. We are really quite powerless to the popular misconceptions. But if there are smart enough people to see you wearing modest Loli then they will ask. ^__^ act as an example rather than complain about how everyone else is so wrong. The reason for this thread is to be annoyed by the mainstream definition of the Loli look as it is already defiled, we have to show them what it's all about ^_~ alothough i would be quite distraught if the entire fashion became mainstream =*( because i like it to be a nice little secluded group of original and dedicated individuals

The reason I like that lolita isn't UBER mainstream is that, if you want to know more, you have to WORK to know more...it doesn't just come to you. So only more dedicated people will get far in it. :3

It is unfortunate that ppl think lolita is such...... filth..... but many ppl are too lazy to research it or don't know any better.... Yes.... this does upset me but you can only do so much about what ppl think. If anyone has been on IMVU.... you know that many of the 'lolita' dresses are just as bad......though some are absolutly delightful.... any place that ppl can post their own 'products' allows for these incorrect views of the style to be presented to the public.

alicedoll Lolicon is much more a japanese word short for lolita complex, an attraction to underage girls :/ -.- Yes, i KNOW, loli-con IS a japanese word. I meant simply that you could compare the american idea and current view of Lolita to Loli-con. Because thats what mean with loli-con think of when they hear Lolita. Child porn. Underaged porn. rolleyes
Anyway, on another note...Its best to just ignore things like that auction. Some people see cosplay lolita as much skankier than most lolita..Even ero-rori isnt all that skanky....Its just elegantly erotic xDD
And letting people know what Lolita in the Japanese sence is is not a bad thing, at all. It just makes people lesss stupid.
Though, you always get the idiodically stubborn ones. Just a week ago i was at school looking at Lolita fashion and sites, and even this forum, and this kid walked by and was like "EW your looking at Gothic Lolita??? Gross!" And would not let me get a word in to explain -.- so i just ignored him. My teacher even came over and i explained it to her, and she turned to the boy and said "Your stupid" (mind you, these arent actually teachers...they are more like supervisors, since i go to an internet school and my tachers are miles away xD they are in college, close to our age and are more friends to us than anything./..)
