Wicca isn't a real religion - it's just a fluffy religion for twits.

haha, I thought I was the only one who had been thought of as Jewish because of my petagram. I've been asked 3 times if it was a Star of David. Once this girl at sleep away camp 4 years ago came up to me and said "Oh cool you're jewish. I have a jewish friend at home". I was a little shocked because I had been raised Jewish so I thought she had somehow found out. I asked her how she knew and she pointed to my necklace and said "your star of david, duh!" lol
I don't really get many sterotypes here, but then again almost no one here knows what Wicca is. If I tell somone I'm Wiccan usualy I get "Oh, that's cool.....so what is Wicca?". It's hard to make a sterotype when no one knows what it is.
I'm kind of mad at my friend though. See, I'm fine telling somone I'm Wiccan if they ask me first, but she goes around telling everyone that she's Wiccan, but the fact is she isn't. She doesn't believe in any form of God/goddess, DOES believe in hell though (don't quite understand that...) casts curses, and drinks her boyfriends blood eek It really freaks me out...I've kind of stopped being her friend because of it. It makes me upset though because we're the only two "Wiccans" (I put it in quotes because she claimes she Wiccan even though she's clearly not) at our school, and I'm afraid people will start to think that Wicca is some F'ed up cult thing, as she makes it out to be.

Um, I'm a bit hazy on the terms of various occult practices, but isn't what you're friend is practicing called "psychic vampirism?" I don't at all understand it, and I have my sincere doubts that there's any sense behind it, but I believe something of the sort exists under that name...definitely not Wiccan, though. She's just using that name because she doesn't know what else to call it. rolleyes

Probably because of people like Silver Raven Wolf and ignorant teenagers...*shrugs*
Another one is: Do you drink blood?
My mother asked me this. -.-

Students at my school have asked me what wicca was when I said I was studying it. Many of them have not heard of it. A lot of people think that the petacle is a sign of satanism and evil, and a lot of "goths" wear those now. Some people think it has to do with devil worship, but most don't understand. In either case, I find it helpful to me at least to explain a little.

Silver Lm *rolls eyes* You gotta remember culture does not look upon wiccan fairly and the same with other pagan religions. Ingore them, their just sterotyping once again.
'Labels are for soup cans, not people.' 3nodding love that quote. Nice quote. Yeah, these guys at school keep telling me to stop worshiping the devil and stop being so gothic. I always reply that there is no devil, that man made him up to frighten gulable children and the gothic kids think they are dead and I am alive.

I've never really had trouble with being teased for my religion (because I didn't tell anyone but my friends). If I ever did tell them, it probably would have been one of those "Wazza Wiccu? Do you like turn things into frogs?"...they weren't the brightest were I went to school last year. But, good thing, noone ever claimed to be Wiccan or anything, probably because they didn't know what it was. I know things wouldn't have gone over well though, because they were very closed minded. Almost everyone there was a WASP and those very who weren't were often teased, like my friend who is Muslim or one of those...I kind of forgot which religion she really follows because we rarely talked about it. sweatdrop ((Well like the religion its self, we got into debates a lot and talked about her views, but almost never by name of the religion...if that makes any sence..))

My grandma hates it..I wanted to buy Tarot Cards because I finally saved enough to buy them. But my grandma said: No way! You don't want to be a devil's child right?!? Well knowing my Grandma is a believer of Christ she was angry for a month now( it's a month ago that I saw the tarot cards I wanted)
