Go to any Pokemon center, go downstairs, talk to the ladies, and they will give you a Pal Pad. Access the Pal Pad from your bag. You can register friends and find your own code there.

I started playing Emerald recently.
I'm not even done the first gym yet, though. xp
Probably because I'm leveling up obsessively first. sweatdrop
After I finish it and pay off my credit card I'll be getting a DS and probably Diamond version.
