Austin drew a blank upon being called a jerk. After a second, he scratched his head and sighed.
"Now i remember, she DID tell me..Kiamani. Or kia, rather, since she prefers that..Shoot. I goofed. Man, i hate the mornings..."
Which was true. In fact, at any given point where Austin was waken up by forces outside of his control(environment changes, intruders, annoying friends tapping at his window..etc.) he would forget just about everything besides basic info. recent events, groundings, curfews. Poof. Like that, t hey all go out the window. It has something to do with his training in martial arts..probably the awareness part. If the situation changes to a point of discomfort rapidly, he immediately dismisses all things in his subconcious to focus on the current situation. Of course, Austin didn't know that his training had stemmed that deep. He simply thought it was a bad habit of his. So, he made a goal to apologize to Kia about forgetting her name. As a side goal, he made a point to make up for it. Probably a nice plant..Something that would bloom. Not a flower, that would seem as a point of flirting, and that was't what he was trying to express to Kia. He exited his room slowly, thinking of things he could buy.

After a few minutes of wandering the Dorm areas, Kia sighed softly to herself and slumped against a hallway wall. Her anger lead her to be exhausted faster, and now she felt like a tight ball of tensed muscle as she now sat on the floor.

"All this and I haven't even started class yet. Maybe I should not have come all this way."

Being inside the building was suffocating her as her thoughts swirled about in her brain like a steamy fog. Locating an exit door from where she sat, Kia stood up slowly and pushed the door open, exiting into the fresh air outside.

Her legs carried her onwards and further away from the dorm area, the path she was following tapering off into a cobblestone passage.

After several hours of wandering through the city of evil, Austin'd returned; Shaky, exhausted and sore. He'd gone out to do a list of things: Buy a few new picks for his basses, new strings, check out the band and play a gig(which consequently had earned him 5,000 bucks, all now stowed away in his bank account). And then he went out to find Gin and tell him about his...wreck. It wasn't a Room anymore, it was a disaster. Gin seemed rather emotionless for several minutes, simply standing there next to a pair of cute girls. He'd seemed nervous about the two of them. Austin knew Gin was a major loverboy, but s**t; two at once? that wasn't healthy. regardless, after a bit, Gin poked Austin in the arm and simply said this;
'Take it.'
Austin had been given Gin's room. To do with as he pleased.
Of course, he was going to keep that secret for now. He had plans for that room, and if he told Kia that he had that room, she might've started clawing at him to get it.
And speaking of Kia. Austin had found only one seed. And that was it. A seed to a pure rosemary bush.
he held the tiny thing in his hand cautiously, rolling it over with his thumb.
"Guess I'd better grow it then.."
Austin reached into the plastic bag that had accompanied him, and pulled out a small sack of fertile soil, a pot, and some plant food. He mixed the food and soil in the pot, then poked a deep hole in the dirt with his finger. He dropped the seed in, then filled the hole. He placed the pot on the bed, then formed a few handsigns. He muttered very quietly, then focused his mind and energy into the seed. Passing on his power to raise the dormant life within.
After several minutes, a small sprout shot out of the soil, curling and growing at a rapid pace. Eventually, the shoot turned to bark, toughening into natural armor. The leaves spread to become branches. And small needle-like leaves sprouted in sprigs off of them.
In a matter of ten minutes, Austin had grown something that normally takes a year to condition.
Of course, this was a small task to earth manipulators. But to Shinobi, such technique is extremely rare..
Well. most shinobi anyway. Gin didn't count, since he was/is like. A legend, almost.
Austin picked up the potted plant, dusted off Kia's bed, then moved back to his cot. The only thing to do now would be wait until she returned for bed. which, consequently, would be soon since it was late afternoon.

Although she had ran off without really keeping her bearings, she managed to find her way back to the room in which she had to stay. The bath had improved her mood somewhat, but she still bristled at the idea of shacking up with someone who couldn't remember her name.

With a soft sigh, he turned the doorknob and stepped inside. Her eyes landed upon Austin, and then to the gorgeous potted plant that had managed to appear while she was away. Her sour mood lifted even more as she stepped inside curiously.

"That's a nice Rosemary bush."

Austin's attention snapped to the door as it slowly opened, then he sighed to himself when he saw it was Kia.
After Kia made her compliment, Austin took a quick look at his instantly grown bush and slightly sighed.
"Thanks."
Then Austin remembered why he'd actually grown it in the first place, and snapped back to reality.
"Erm. Yeah. This is actually for you, Kia. I'm hoping you'll forgive me for forgetting your name..See, I've only got a few actual friends, and lots and lots of crap in my life..So theres little to help me cope, and lots to deal with. The only things i really have are music, friends and love. Love, i'm out of. Friends, i've got very few of. Music, i've got tons of. And..I suppose i should stop making excuses and bringing you into my problems. Sorry again."
Austin dropped his head slightly, staring into the grains and threads that made the shag carpet beneath him.

"...for me?"

Kia was honestly surprised and a bit confused at his gesture. Here she was, a stranger, basically, and he was trying to make amends with her. And to go through all that trouble of finding such a lovely gift...

She wasn't very used to kindness, so at first all she could do was stare with her mouth slightly ajar. Finally snapping out of her surprise however, she slowly approached the potted plant and picked it up.

In her eyes you could see she regarded it like a precious child as she cradled the pot in her arms. Her fingers played delicately over the leaves as she took a small sniff of its scent.

Finally she turned to Austin with a softened expression and responded.

"You didn't have to do this. But thank you."

"You're welcome Kia. And I'm sorry again about forgetting your name..."
He smiled, sweatdropping a bit. He raised his head up now, no longer embarrassed.
"Anyway.."
Austin stood up, reaching out to prod his guitars, apparently trying to figure out which one he should play. Eventually just grabbing his fretless jazz guitar, he smiled and took a seat. He closed his eyes for several moments, trying to find the beat that was hidden in his mind. somehow, there was always a beat, or a groove stuck in austin's mind that only he could hear. He heard it during thai boxing class(which is what usually sets the tempo of his combos) during Aikido(tempo of speed) Arnis(tempo of strikes and mvement) and basically whenever he moved. The beat was always there, and he could hear it. And he know if he found a way to manifest it just right, everything would just be perfect. he'd be able to play shows. not just the ones that got him the pocket change he'd gotten earlier, but stuff that'd get him ten times that amount.

Kia watched Austin curiously for a few moments as he busied himself with his Guitar. She did find it a little curious to see such a guitar enthusiast in person, but it also meant to her that despite his seemingly flaky memory there was some deep rooted passion in him somewhere. And it manifested itself in his guitars and music.

Once she snapped out of her analytical daze, she took a seat on the bed, Rosemary bush still cradled in her arms. It was such a beautiful bush and she felt much more at ease in that room now that she had it. A fine choice in presents indeed.

While her fingers began to idly explore the delicate leaves of the Rosemary, she glanced off into the distance while addressing Austin.

"So what brought you here?"

"Friends, Music, Martial arts, alchemy...That's basically it. And possibly a girlfriend...though I guess I'm out of luck in that aspect. I seem to fail at love alot for some reason..."
Austin hit a sour note at the end of that sentence, and frowned as if he'd just done something shameful. He popped his thumb in place quietly, then jumped a bit when his phone rang. The room was slightly quiet, and the sudden change of noise startled him. He picked up his phone, answering with a flick of his thumb.
"Hello?...It IS for sale? How much then?...4,000? alright, i'll be over to pik it up shortly."
Austin hung up his phone, quickly placing it back in his pocket.
"I'm headed out. I need to go see a man about a car..."
Austin walked to the door, grabbing his coat off of the rack next to it. He slipped it on coolly, and opened the door.
"I'll only be an hour, if you'd like to see the car after i'm back..Later Kia."
Austin closed the door quietly, leaving Kia alone in his room until he returned.

Austin walked the halls of the dormitory happily, a small bounce in his step. The jingle of a pair of keys accompanied his joyful strut, which hung from his clutched hand. It had been two hours since he'd left the room and Kia alone, but now he was back. And also, he'd purchased something incredible. He'd seen it once in his younger days, but he'd never had enough money to hope to buy one for himself; A Triumph TR6 in heavy red paint. He'd seen one before at the repair shop down the street and across the block from his house before for 3,000$, but he couldn't raise enough money in time to buy it. He was only fifteen back then, and couldnt get a normal part time job without being 16. Thus, he was boned in the funds section, and the car slipped away. but now, three years later, with the success of his band, he was able to buy the car and use it! And now, he was able to go back...back home.
He opened the door to his dorm and entered quietly. he turned on the light and tossed his coat on the bed.
"Yay for owning a car..."

Austin was greeted with silence upon uttering those words as Kia had taken the opportunity to take a short nap in his absence. The Rosemary bush had been placed very carefully near the window so it could receive a proper amount of light. It's potted soil was moist as well, indicating that she had watered it very recently.

If he had returned an hour earlier, he might have been able to stand by the door and listen quietly as Kia sang very softly to her baby. But the only noise she made now was her breathing, air gently rushing past her lips with each draw and blow.

His announcement only caused her to stir slightly but not fully awaken, her body curled on it's side.

Austin smiled at Kia's curled form, somehow drawing comfort yet again from seeing her asleep. He didn't want to wake her, so he simply changed out of his shirt and moved quietly about his room to do the random things he did before sleep. Picking up clothes that may have been scattered, coke cans that might've been left laying about, etc. After that, Austin tossed his old shirt into the corner he usually did, and crawled into his sleeping bag as the shirt crumpled up. He let the keys drop beside him to the ground, and flicked the light switch nearest to him off.
"Nighty night Kia..."
Austin closed his eyes, then summoned up his memory of music to play something he liked to listen to and fell asleep shortly afterwards.

A short while after Austin had fallen asleep, Kia finally awoke with a groan and a yawn before sitting up in bed. Her eyes took note of the returned Austin who was fast asleep, then her rosemary bush which seemed as lush as ever.

Stepping out of bed quietly, she stretched her arms and legs out, a welcome exercise as her muscles had stiffened a bit during her rest.

A small growling noise interrupted her actions however, and her hand reflexively went to her stomach. There was no mistaking it. She was starved.

"I really need to eat something. Otherwise I'll just shrivel and die."

Austin silently grumbled from his bed, subconsciously waking up. His yes remained closed however, and he continued to rest.
"Well, I guess I'll take you to the dining hall in a bit then..We need to set-up and activate your account today."
Austin lay there motionless for a good 2 minutes before stirring to a sitting position in what seemed to be slow motion. He rubbed his eyes quietly, then stood up to scratch his bare chest. Then he remembered that there was a lady in the room, and scurried over to his dresser to snatch a shirt groggily from his drawer to put on. He pulled off his socks, then slipped on some flip flops before picking up his keys from their resting place beside his cot. He walked to the door, rubbing his eyes once more.
"Well then, lets head out.."

Watching this spectacle of a practically sleepwalking Austin was a bit interesting and amusing at the same time. His modesty almost made her chuckle as well but her hunger pangs quickly distracted her from that. Food was all she could think of now that her monstrous appetite had taken over her mindset.

Quickly and quietly she slipped her shoes back onto her feet and joined Austin by the door. If she had known the way herself she would have barreled past him like an oncoming freight train.

"Alright, let's hurry already!"
