Adaomros's feet shuffled against the ground as he passed through the gate separating the Upper City from the Lower. His thoughts wandering, he trudged through the streets, heading for The Tree. His latest confrontation with his mother had been, shall we say, less than pleasant, causing him to leave rather quickly. Sighing, he ran over the fight in his mind, trying various "if onlys" on for size. As he approched Fior's place, he tired of this futile exercise and put it away to dwell on later... more than likely, when he was trying to sleep that night.

As he opened the door and stepped inside the hollowed-out Tree, he called, "'Ey Fior! You here?" He quickly made his way through the house, ending up in the kitchen and noticing the smell of muffins. "Mmmm. She must be at the stand, then," he murmured to himself, spying a crumb and popping it into his mouth. He grinned and went back outside, turning his steps toward her little shop.

((And there you have it. Ideally, he'll meet up with someone before he gets bored out of his mind waiting for her. Else he'll assume something bad happened to her and start rushing around the city trying to find her. razz ))

Graros shifted under his covers. Why was it that whenever you awoke, it took forever to get back to sleep? Oh well, he thought. Might as well go open shop. With that thought, he quickly got out of his small rose-covered bed, and threw on his robes. He slid down the rail into the shop front, and switched the sign to open. He left the AU shop closed, as he didn't fell like being careful. With that, he left two rosepants on either side of the door that had a smell like blueberries, and gave off a small healing gas when the door opens. He left and went into his lab, glad that he didn't have to face the crowd.

Tera tilted her head thoughtfully, "Ano... Most tend to be red, though I can get other colors with different blood... and I could probably find a way to color it," she gave a little laugh, "And I could probably make all those flowers. It would take several spells, and some time to mix them all, but it could be done."

Caitee's smile brightened even more. "It can? How much?" She asked, biting her lip in anticipation. She had her entire last months wages, which could add up, when you are the star of a gypsy show for the richest people in town. Well, a lot for the LOWER city... She decided to wait and see what the mage said before tossing out her highest possible range, as she wasn't TOTALLY naive, and didn't want to be swindled...

Adan left a short note for the shopkeeper explaining where about his store was, and what it was called: The Grinding Stone.

Once he had done that he slipped out quickly and headed for his shop. At this rate, he was going to be late setting up, but if he could hurry the set up process his boss would never know. Just as he expected, the boss was not there when he got there and he was left to set up on his own. When he was done, he unslide the crude dead bolt that had been holding the door shut, swung the door open, and propped it open with a stool.

A black carraige, pulled by four well-matched black horses sporting rich purple plumes pulled up with a clatter outside the Grinding Stone. The curtains were drawn, but there could be no doubt in anyones' mind who the occupant of the carraige was. This carraige was often seen about the Lower City - the black and purple were the signature colours of Seren-Xi Liander of the council. Seren-Xi rarely travelled about the lower city on foot - her excuse was that she was getting too old for the long walk along uneven roads, but in reality the small protection offered by the thin carraige walls was appealing; her shadow guardians had disspeared with the daylight.

The lady herself, wearing a long black cloak over another expensive puple gown stepped gracefully onto the cobblestones. Her walking cane was handed to her by a footman. Leaning heavily on the cane (she often emphasised the 'old woman' act in the Lower City), she walked as elegantly as this allowed into the shop. A young man was working busily inside.

"Good morning young man," Seren began, the honey tones of her kindly-yet-firm persona sliding into place. "Is your master in? I wish to purchase a knife for magical purposes."

Sparrow walked slowly through the streets and saw the wall and remembered a time long ago...Once she was on the other side of it..looking down on people just like her....Then she was young and wealthy, a daring combination...An heir to greath wealth...She was betrated while on an adventure with her party....Now she rarely trusted anyone and liked even less...Her comfortable life was gone..And as she entered adulthood..She was still young somehow...just looking for someone to take her in, a mage that would teach her more than Sparrow knew...Food was rare for her and a meal signified a good day......Tearinh her eyes from the wall, she began to walk briskly and, for the first time, optimistically, towards a nearby shop

"My master?" he asked politely. "He is not in, but I can't imagine anything you would ask him that you couldn't ask me," he promised. He was trying to be polite and tell her to get her order over with at the same time. It helped that his smile was disarming. "What would you like?"

"Medium length, good hilt," Seren replied shortly, then continued "The knife will be involved in animating a golem, but if you have nothing specifically for that purpose, something that can be imbued with magic and can be used as a conduit for magic will do. Money is no object, but over-charging me will do you no good, as I may be shopping for a good deal of weaponry in the near future."

Seren was confident that the knife would be of good quality - she had used the shop before. The shop assistant seemed competant enough.

((Okay, because no one is posting in the ding-danged AUHQ, I'll just be in two places at once. Meh. ))

Fior ran back across town to open shop. She noticed from a distance Ad'm standing out front, a confused look across his face. "Adaom~ros!" she squealed, attacking him from behind with a hug, which knocked them both on the ground. "What's the matter?" she asked, laughing slightly. "You look confused!"
She helped him up and undid the lock enchantment on her cart. The curtain flew up, the drawers opened, and the wheels transformed from stone back into wood. She turned on the small oven on the cart to warm up some pastries.

"Alright, I'll see what materials I can get for that. We don't have conducts of high quality in the store at the moment. There's a shipment coming in but they're delayed. What about the shape of the blade? Even if you use it mostly as a conduit, you probably want it to work as a knife." He reached under a counter and pulled up a rolled up cloth. When he spread it out on the counter top it had wooden-handled knives about the length she indicated. Some were curved blades, some straight, skinny, fat-- the handles were shaped to the blade, of course, to help direct force to the cutting part of the blade when it was an odd shape. If you didn't know anything about weaponry some of it looked backwards or convolutedly designed. "Do any of these look good?"

Fior must have been running at close to Mach 1, because by the time her shout hit Ad'm's brain (which, admittedly, probably took longer than it should have, due to his confuzzlement), her body had hit his back in full "flying glomp" mode, sending them both toppling to the pavement. He chuckled and rubbed his shoulder as he cocked an eye up at her and said, "Confused, yes. I went to the Tree, but you weren't there, so I came here, 'cause I smelled the muffins (plus found some crumbs, which were quite yummy), but you weren't here either, so I guess you were at the...." He trailed off as she helped him up, looking around and lowering his voice. "Well, you know. But you're ok, right?" Grinning, he added, "And do you have any of those muffins left?"

((Mmm. It's fun to type in motormouth mode. biggrin ))

Seren examined the merchandise for some moments. Finally, pointing at her chosen knife with a slender, be-ringed finger, she indicated one with a long thin blade, and a wickedly sharp point. It was the kind of knife that had 'efficiency' written all over it, and seemed strong enough. Weighing the knife carefully in her hand, Seren nodded.
"Yes, this will do. However, it is a great shame you have no conduits available now. I will need the knife before sunset this evening, and, while I have little knowledge of weapon magic, if you have the skill to enchant the knife immediately or at least before sunset I can certainly make it worth your while," she said matter-of-factly.

If his work was any good, Seren considered off-hand, it might be worth employing the man privately, or at least engaging his services for a period. The golum army would need weapons - unless Yuthaweh had made his own arrangements.

Fior laughed and raised an eyebrow. "Yes, I'm fine."
She dug in the large pocket of her apron, and pulled out one of the muffins from the morning, still warm. She smiled cheerfully and handed it to him.
"Hope you like it! " she said, walking behind her cart and rested her chin on her hands. 'It's one of my better batches!" she added, with a wink.

Caitee sighed as she looked out the window. The sun had moved just a bit, but she knew it was probably going to be a good idea for her to move on. She would have to return to the camp soon, and she didn't want to lose a chance to look around town more... "I'm sorry... Perhaps I shall return tomorrow! For now, I must leave! Ta!" She said, wiggling her fingers in a rather cutesy wave as she made her way out into the crowded streets, attempting to get lost...
