She took a deep breath, as he contemplated her answer, but she huffed and narrowed her eyes as she saw he was exaggerating his actions. His smile gave that away. He wasnt very good at the hiding of his feelings, she could already tell.

When he offered up himself, she released the air she'd held in her lungs. Why, that would be the perfect sire for children. Not only was Cerek the picture of handsome, but he was kind, and charming. If her children turned out like that, then there was no doubt whatsoever that her mothers 'regal' claim in life would go on.
Oh if mother knew what she'd just asked, she might kill her. But Mara didnt care. This wasnt her mothers life. It was her own.

"Well, I dunnooo.." She teased, smiling at him.

"I think you would be the perfect father for the children. I believe I'll have you."

She said, touching her muzzle to his as well. The soft velvet..

"I think I just found my best friend."
She siad, absolutely serious in her words. She wanted to be best friends with Cerek, so her children would be happy, as would she. They all needed protector, and she was happy for that.

"Cerek, thank you so much.."

Cerek chuckled at her own teasing. Fair was fair, wasn't it? Continuing the soft touching of muzzles, Cerek contemplated his new title. Father. How odd that sounded, to be labeled with. He wasn't sure if he was entirely ready, but he'd have time to adjust, wouldn't he? His mother would hopefully be pleased...Plus, it would give her and his brother some space from him for a while.

Still grinning from practically ear to ear, he nodded. "And of course we have to be best friends. For the children's sakes, as well as for our own sanities. I'd never allow you to do that alone. Not to mention, I'd miss out on the pleasure of your company."

Swishing his tail, he glanced up to the sky. "It's been a rather interesting day, hasn't it Mara?"

She smiled, still wondering if he was really okay with this. She'd keep up to this, as long as he didnt tell her otherwise.. So she continued smiling, knowing her mother and father would likely want to kill her.

"Well, I would very much say, I would miss your company as well."

She said, nuzzling him, then smiling.

"That is has. But is it over? Or shall we continue enjoying ourselves?"

His mother would...Well, Cerek thought it best if his mum just didn't know until the children were fully able to run around. Sure, he'd probably get a n** or two around the ears, but she wouldn't react that badly, would she? His brother, on the other hand...That would be an interesting conversation.

The dark stallion nipped gently at her neck, playfully. "Never over, love. I've always heard that it's much more fun to play by moonlight anyway. But, what shall we turn our amusements to?" He practically danced on his front hooves, excitement and energy bubbling through him.

Though Mara had been this way before, she really wasnt all too sure what fun could be had in the forest. She turned her head, left to right, then cocked it at Cerek.

Did he know what there was around here? If he did, then his never over comment would go not wasted.

"What else is around here? Any clue?"

She stomped her own hooves in step with his. She was happy, happier than shed been in awhile.

Grinning at the golden mare, Cerek swished his tail. "I think I know of something...It's not necessarily fun, but it can be entertaining," he said, winking coyly at her. "It's a bit of a trip - I hope you're up to the journey?" In truth, it would take until dawn to reach the destination Cerek had in mind. But that was the entire purpose.

Reaching out to bump her side with his muzzle, he eased into a slow walk, pausing to see if she would follow him.

Marahute was not willing to go home just yet. She had enough of staying home.. So any place, boring or entertaining would work well for her. She smiled him, and leapt to catch him.

"Oh please take me. It doesnt have to be fun.. As long as I'm in good company."

She said, reaching across to playfully n** his rump. She swished her tail, as she fell in place beside him.

"So. What is this place called that we now head to?"

Cerek snaked his head around, grinning broadly at the mare. "It's a surprise. You'll see. But we'll have to hurry to make it there on time." It was some distance from their current locale, but a mild, steady canter would get the couple there at exactly the right moment. Turning his hooves in the necessary direction, Cerek ambled into a slow run, the nightly breezes teasing at his mane and tail. He didn't need to look to see if Mara was behind him. He was sure she'd follow.

After several hours of this, with a few rest stops in between, Cerek saw their destination growing ever bigger. From here, it looked like a sheer mountain face with no possible path of assent. But Cerek had found one tiny little path that led to a ledge with the most spectacular of views. Whinnying softly to Mara, he sped his pace up somewhat, eagerly climbing the small incline towards the base of the mountain. As his hooves began clacking over rocky terrain, he paused, his brilliant eyes gazing up. There was a faint tinge of gold in the heavens. They'd have to hurry. "Just over here," he called, laughing faintly as he made his way to an almost invisible path.

They had been running for what seemed like forever now. She was growing tired, but she was used to the feeling, and it didnt bother her so much. Her mother had been a traveler, and in being so, had passed on the trait.

Mara continued to follow Cerek. Ready to approach whatever idea it was that he had without argue.
She followed him up the windy paths, and perked her ears as he whinnied.

"This place feels like its on the other side of the earth!"

Chuckling, the stallion glanced back at Mara. "It is on the other side of the world. Or as close as we'll ever come to it." The exertion felt good to him, and though his breathing was just a tad bit heavy, he wasn't tired one bit. His family had been rather nomadic, moving about the wild as free spirits should. Cerek couldn't imagine being tied to one place that he was obligated to return to. In fact, the thought made a cold shiver go down his spine.

Clacking loudly up the twisting path, Cerek paused every few moments to make sure Mara was still behind him. Tiny thrills of joy were coursing all over his body, his hooves nearly dancing against the solid earth beneath them. There is was! Their destination. Nickering softly, he bounded ahead like an eager foal, disappearing around the curve of the mountainside.

When Mara joined him on the ledge, she'd be greeted with a site that Cerek found amazing. At the height they were at, there was a constant breeze. The ground below swept across the earth live a wave of green, undulating just as the faraway oceans would. But the most amazing thing of all was the sunrise. It came, slowly at first, then faster and faster, staining the world below in various hues of luminescent golds and purples.

Cerek breathed in deeply, gazing over land below. This was what life was all about - this freedom, discovering beauty in all the little things.
