Lovey giggled at his poor expression. The stallion no longer made her ache to give him a swift kick or four in the ribs. Now it was time to make him smile and perhaps play. It had been far too long since she had gone for a good run with anybody, "Oi Dirt, I suppose you have it close enough for our purposes... So do you want to play?"

"Play?! What is play?" , he looks over at her looking like she's crazy. "Is it a fruit? I love fruit!!", he wagged his tail slightly thinking about fruit. "Is it anything like a pineapple? It isn't some kind of physical activity is it?", he looks at her with hopeful eyes that she'll say it is a fruit and licks his lips. He was always the stallion that got ran away from and didn't normally get much attention from others besides rude remarks so at least he was being honest for once.

"You don't know what playing is?" The thought only made Lovey sad. Up until a month or two ago she hadn't known what playing was either. A bright little filly had taught her how to fling mud, run, and justp lay in general, "Poor Dirt.. didn't you know that one of the best ways to play is to get completely covered in Mud?" A cheesy grin spread her lips, "I thought you knew everything about getting dirty?"

He starts to get all happy in his hooves and starts to get antsy. "You mean you want to get dirty with me?" He starts smiling and winking uncontrollably. "You want to roll around with me in the mud?"

Oh lord, he looked so excited at the idea of rolling in mud. "No no.. well I mean that's one way to play but it takes me so long to get cleaned up again that I'm sure other ways of playing would be much cleaner but still fun.. You know?"

His eyes filled with tears hearing what she just said. "So you don't want to get dirty with me? ... Why would you suggest it and then say no?" He droops his head down low and stands there shamefully. "Why don't you want to get dirty with me? I'm Dirt so I should be the one and only one to get dirty with."

The stallion certainly had the tendancy to look ready to cry. Is he trying to make me feel guilty? "Well, I played in the mud with this little filly named Azariel... She's a grown mare now." Lovey nudged his neck curiously, "Besides... aren't you Dirty enough for the two of us?"

"You got dirty in the mud with a young one?", he looked at her all shocked and astounded. He then gave her an odd look that ended up with his eyes lighting up from an idea. "Well yes I may be dirty enough for the two of us, but immagine how dirty we could be together in the mud.", he kisses her cheek playfully then smiles.

"Well what's said is said and I can't take it back, though I don't really feel any regret saying it. It'll just let us grow more?" He smiled brightly at her thinking he made perfect sense on every point he made. "Why don't you want to whatever this play is in the mud with me?"

One purple-white ear pinned down in annoyance and she look at him carefully. "Well then if what's said is said then why do people have to apologize? What they said to insult has "been said" obviously, but the apology retracts it?" Lovey countered that to him and raised an eyebrow. Let's see how he'll dance around that one. "Now then, mud is very uncomfortable to have on when it dries, isn't that enough of a reason?"

"An appology is something that should be done from actions and not with words. You can't retract something said because it's already been heard." He looked at her with happiness in her eyes. "Well if all you want is an appology then you have one from me. Take it has you will or won't. It's a rare thing for me to even consider." ...he looks at her curiously and smirks then responds to her reason, "When mud dries you get dirt dear so you'll always have me around if you play in the mud."

"Oh? because I've had many apologizes made or given to me for something that was said rather than something that was done." The ponies that she had been raised with had been found of fighting with words, in fact, it had nearly made up all of the fighting that had been done at all, "And if I decide not to have you around me all the time?" She'd have to put him into his place she supposed?

"Well if you decided that dear then you'd crush my heart." He gave her a sincere puppy dog eye look. "You wouldn't want that now would you?" His eyes suddenly light up. "Though if ever I should be away you now have a way to keep me close by and all you'd have to do is play in the mud and let it dry." He smiles broadly hoping this was a great idea for the problem even though there wasn't any problem about this at all.

"You don't know me well enough for me to crush your heart." Oi, either he was the cheesiest stallion ever, or he fell way too easily for her. "I don't ever plan to crush anybody's anything, it's not in me to be that way." That was true enough.. Wait.. play in mud? Ack! it made her fur all stiff and awkward to move in.. maybe she just shouldn't comment....
