She laughed as the wave of a splash hit her. She didn't have a mane to get wet and in the way so she didn't mind at all, however she did find that splashing at the male made his mane wetter and what looked more stringy, which she found highly amusing.
"Come and get me!" She hit him on his side saying 'tag' as she did so before swimming off towards the bank. She was still laughing happy now that she had a new friend.

Habu had to take some time to laugh, and then try to get the bits of mane that were hanging down near his eyes away from his eyes. It was more of an annoyance than something that truly blocked his vision, but he found it less concerned when Mchengo suddenly gave him a push and swam off for the bank.
"Ee!" he gasped, and then swam off after her- unable to catch up, but not doing too badly.

She paused to look back and as she saw him coming she swam the last little bit and climbed out of the water, shook herself dry and lowered her body ready to splash him when he got closer.
She lowered her paw into the water, moving it slightly to make sure she could cup some water to splash him with. Now all she had to do was wait.

Chasing after her, Habu realized what was going on unil it was too late. It didn't take him too much longer than Mchengo to get close to the other side, though she certainly had enough time to prepare for her ambush. As soon as he looked up and saw her there by the edge of the water, he was within range and made a valient effort to go back.
Unfortunately, he had a hard time swimming forward quickly, let alone backward.

She rolled over laughing.
"You can come back now, I won't splash you!" She couldn't stop laughing. This was the most fun she had been able to have in such a long time. She would need to seek this male out again for some more playing.
"Are you enjoying swimming? Its fun isn't it!" She smiled widely, ever so happy.
"Are you my friend now?" She hoped so. Habu was without doubt the most fun male she had ever met, her siblings were so boring and the male she had met when she was younger was also somewhat boring. She loved making friends.

Fortunately for the out of practice swimmer, she started to laugh and seemed to abandon the idea of splashing. However, he was not so ready to trust the quite obviously crafty lioness. Habu paddled as she laughed, grinning at her as she promised not to splash and asked if he liked it.
"Oh, it's lots of fun," he admitted, and took his time swimming back over to the water's edge and climbed up, his yellow fur dripping, "Of course we're friends, you're probably the nicest girl I've met." It was the truth. Safuma was up there too, but other than them he'd only had family really. Not to mention Mchengo seemed as friendly as you could get.

Mchengo smiled widely. "I knew you would like it!" She giggled a little and then smiled even wider if that was at all possible.
"We are friends? Oh yay!" She jumped up and pounced towards Habu in a playful manner, she wasn't about to hurt him, he was far too nice and they were friends, no she decided they were best friends and then started to giggle some more. She was an odd lioness, especially for an adolescent.

Habu started when she pounced at him, and though he jumped back defensively he quickly caught that it was just playing. With a snort of laughter, he did what he thought would be best revenge- finally shaking the water out of his fur just when Mchengo was within range. It didn't seem to help his mane, which now just stuck out at some odd angles in some places while being slicked down in others.

She laughed as she landed and then got water droplets thrown onto her, it was rather amusing. She shook her own fur to get rid of the newly added water droplets and turned to look at the male.
"Manes are so funny!" She giggled a little more watching as his mane seemed to stick out in random directions and then some of it looked as if it was behaving. Males were very odd indeed, especially their manes.

Habu laughed as she was forced to shake the water from her fur again, finding it even funnier when the idea backfired and she threw some of the water back at him. Her commenting on manes was his first clue that something was probably up with his, and he ducked down and tried to straighten it out with his paws.
"Yeah, and it gets longer," he murmured, agreeing despite himself. When he stood back up, his mane looked more flat but in an unnatural way. He wasn't going to win.

Mchengo laughed, "I am so glad I am female!" She walked away from the wet spots and laid down in the grass before she rolled over on to her back, her legs waving up in the air as she rolled. She loved life.
"Do you not like your mane? I bet its nice and fluffy when its not wet!" She smiled widely, still laying her back with her legs in the air. "You should find a mate, I bet she would love it!" A giggle escaped her, she would never mate, males always had someone else and she wasn't bothered anyway. She liked paring people up instead.

Wahabu shot a playful glare at her as she laughed and declared her delight at being female. He didn't really mind his mane, but anyone would admit that if you liked swimming it would get in the way. He couldn't imagine having a mane like his father and swimming easily, it looked like it would get pretty heavy- but maybe that was just his imagination. Seemed he'd have to go swimming if his ever got that long.
"I like it, but it's not good for swimming," he answered, shaking off a bit more of the water before walking closer to Mchengo. He stumbled a bit when she suggested finding a mate, and it took him a second but he chuckled, "I don't think so."

She stared at him and shook his head, "Tree guy must have found a mate by now and if Tree can get a mate you can. I will find you one!" She didn't think about whether or not he would actually want one, he wasn't getting a choice. Tree happened to be a lion called Jini who Mchengo met as a cub. She had tried to pair him up with someone then.
"What do you want in a girl? Then I will go find one who will suit you!" She smiled, her blue eyes shining, she was so happy!

Habu just stared back at Mchengo, except when she started to speak again he continued to stare dumbly at her. He'd spent most of his cubhood in fear of his sister and expected girls to be mostly the same, having such limited experience with them. Now that his sister was gone and he'd met girls, he was happy to know that they could be friends- finding a mate was certainly not something he'd ever considered. And so he just stared at her as she announced her intention to play matchmaker.
It took him a couple seconds to realize he was expected to answer her questions.
"Um- I don't know," Habu mumbled, though he was slowly getting over the surprise. Part of him wanted to have fun with this, but another part of him thought it was silly.

She just stared at him and laughed, "You must have some idea!" She laid down and rolled over on her back a few times, she wanted to play matchmaker and didn't understand why he was being so reluctant to tell her what he wanted in a girl.
"Please tell me! I will find you the best girl ever!" She smiled widely while still laying on her back, her legs in the air trying to bat at him though not quite reaching.
