Roleplay Log 17
Contains: Jezebel, Rinter, Selior, Muse, and Cornelius. Purpose: Testing of a new instrument of Muse's, and a chance at a drunk Jezebel! Length: 22 Posts.Drunken Ballroom Dancing Jezebel didn't care where she was. In fact... She didn't even know where she was. Because the brunette was drunk. And sitting on her bottom in the middle of a ballroom floor, humming quietly to herself and taking another gulp from a very large bottle, she was the pure image of drunken... something.
Jezzy's hair was down, too, and without all the aerosol hairspray holding it up in a big poof of curls, it just sat around her shoulders in loose curls, a couple sections up in rollers. She was changed for bed when she had stumbled onto the bottle and after a particularly gruesome run in with Perce. (Yeah, she still had those.) She just needed it.
"Daylight deals..." Hic. "A bad... Bad h-hand..." She stumbled over the words, frowning when they didn't come as easily as she wanted them to. But that was okay! She took another swig from the bottle, and grinned a little. And then she realized...
The bottle was empty when she went to take another sip. "..." She looked into the bottle with a pout. "Why is the rum always gone?"
Clammoring into the room like an army of actors that they were.. or used to be, Seli, Muse and Cornelius.... okay, Rinter too, came into the ballroom. Muse was draping herself on Cornelius again, looking halfasleep however, where as the there men were perfectly alert and passing jokes with one another.
Surprisingly, Cornelius and Selior seemed to have become friends despite Selior nearly killing the man just shortly ago. One point for Cornelius' social skills. Now, the two were passing jokes about Rinter.. which made things far more normal for the characters in the mansion. He had his arms crossed and marched in behind the other there who were leading the way, looking erd in the face and rather embaressed.
"And then she told me she only gave him her number cause' his robots scared her, and that it was really the number of a suicide hotline.." Selior explained with a snort, grinning ear to ear. Cornelius shook his head sympathetically at Rinter. "I..see.. Rinter, if you are looking for a wife I suppose I could try to help you. I've been married before." He said matter of factly. That woke Muse up some, so much so that she stood up straight and pushed him 'away from her' all offended-like.
Finally, Selior noticed Jezebel. "Oh, hey Jezzy. How are y.. woaaah, Jez, who let you into the alcohol?"
Jezebel glanced up with a huffy pout, and held the bottle out. "Wot alcohol. S'empty! Rum's lawlays... Always gone." She corrected, tossing the bottle aside carelessly. It didn't break, luckily. She turned to them and pouted, holding her hands up. "Help me up? I'm scukt. .. Stuck." She corrected, frowning again.
"I'm stuck." She repeated, nodding to herself and holding her hands out to them patiently. "Pleeeeeeeease?" She asked, beaming up at them with a bright smile. That just... sort of screamed drunk. And the only reason she wanted up, was because there was another bottle or three waiting for her on the table. Which was too far for her to crawl to.
Grinning, Selior walked over to help the girl up. "Sure thing hunny. Any particular reason why we're hammered tonight?" He asked jokingly, glancing up at where the other bottles were. "Hey Cornelius, why don'tcha grab those before she get's em.. I swear I don' wanna see Rinter cleaning up puke all day tommorow, it's distracting."
"I'm not cleaning up anything!" Rinter piped from behind the others. Stepping forward he shoko his head dissaprovingly at Jezebel. "People are so stupid. How very pathetic." He declared, shaking his head still.
"Oh would you stop judging people!?" Selior barked, while Muse grinned deviously at Jezebel and gripped at a very small harp like looking instrument she had attached to a peculiar clasp on her side.
Upon grabbing said bottles, Nelee would discover them empty. "But I was gonna drink those." She pouted up at Selior, and glared at Rinter coldly. "You know, no one likes you because you're such an a**." She said bluntly, alcohol giving her courage enough to.
She leaned on Selior, sighing. "Lots of reasons. But I drank rum. Sooooo... I'm scared." She nodded sagely. "Drink rum when I'm scared. Tequila when I'm mad. And... Jack when I'm just havin' fun." She giggled, and moved away from him, spinning in a full circle a couple of times.
Aaaand then tripping and falling on her a**. "... Ow!" She huffed a little, and pulled her knees up to her chest, grumbling childishly.
Selior began giggling, apparantly quite amused.
Rinter rolled his eyes, "Perfect, I don't like any of you." He said while raising an eyebrow. He glanced at Cornelius who looked inside the empty bottles and shook his head a vew more times. "Quite drunk." Cornelius muttered.
"This is going to get boring really fast." Rinter declared, looking much less amused at Jezebel than the other three. Muse slid over next to the other woman on the floor and sat down, waving her hand at her a few times.
"So why are you scared then?" Selior eventually asked, batting his hand at Rinter in a 'shut up' motion.
"Ohhh, nobody asked you along!" She stuck her tongue out at Rinter childishly, before snorting laughter and covering her mouth with her knees, giggling into her knees.
She looked at Muse, and waved back, giving her a wide smile. Then she looked at Selior, and sunk back into her knees. "Not tellin'." She mumbled childishly. "My demons, I don't gotta share if I don' wanna."
Jezebel forced herself up, and stumbled towards the table. She needed another drink. Thinking was gonna make her sober and that just wasn't cool. Not at all. Nope!
She huffed at all the empty bottles. "Someone's been drinkin' my rum!" She insisted, fuming.
"Perhaps this someone was....you?" Cornelius asked her, eyebrows raised. "Perhaps you should drink some coffee, miss." He suggested further.
Selior cocked his head sideways, looking interested. "Oh? But you're too drunk to not willingly share all your embaressing demons with the rest of us! Do tell, Jez!" He declared deviously.
Rinter decided not to waste breath on the maddened drunk woman, and fixed himself against a wall with his arms crossed while examining the mural on the room's cieling.
Muse had pouted when the other woman moved away from her, looking annoyed only breifly before pulling up her instrument and playing just two or so notes on it. Just a little test is all.
The couple of notes, the little test, made Jezebel stiffen completely. She turned, as if sober, except her eyes weren't focused. She gulped a little, and sighed. "I just had a bad dream about... About Perce, he's still one of my demons even though I know he's okay."
And as soon as it was out of her mouth, she clamped her hands over her mouth, eyes wide, and flinched a little, mumbling around her hands that she hadn't meant for that to come out, not to worry about her, etcetera, etcetera. Because that was just what she did. She'd worry about everyone else, just don't worry about her!
"Who's that?" Selior and Cornelius asked in unison, looking at each other blankly when they noticed it. Rinter rolled his eyes. "Who cares?" He muttered bitterly, looking around uncomfortably for a place to sit.
Muse grinned impishly and plucked a very short song on the harp she had, looking at Jezebel the entire time expectantly and completely ignoring the slight teal color the instrument was radiating.
Her hands parted from her mouth to explain, thanks to the short song on the harp. "He was my... Lover? In my play but then he left me 'cause the club closed down and the portal closed."
Her hands clapped over her mouth again, and she fumed a little, glaring at Muse. "Stop that!" She said through her hands, clamping her mouth even harder with her hands. Who knew what would come out if she kept playing!? It could ruin everything!
Muse stopped at first, looking slightly guilty. Supopse that was getting a little embaressing and she ought to stop.
"Oh. I see." Cornelius began, looking rather dissapointed. "Nothing to be embaressed about dear, most ofus can relate in one form or another." He told her comfortingly.
Selior on the other hand decided to play it to it's fullest. "Oh, realllllly. So the tough old' broad has some little distant lover she's feeling angsty about!" He began, chuckling. "And what else?" He asked, glancing at Muse. "Come on, Muse!" He demanded.
Rolling ehr eyes the mute began to play again, while Rinter rolled his eyes even more and gazed off into space. "You know, Cornelius, you have pretty eyes.."
Her hands dropped down after a minute of fighting, and she glared at Selior. "You have got to be the most annoying person I have ever known, next to Rinter. And what's worse? You know it, because you're annoying all on your own!" She said bluntly.
Then she looked at Muse, pleadingly, and covered her mouth again. "And it doesn't help that I hafta put up with you because I live here." She said through her hand, closing her eyes tight. She was trying to clamp everything down because if she didn't, she'd do something REALLY embarrassing.
Please,pleasepleaseplease stop!
Muse stopped, looking quite guilty by then. She shook her head Selior dissaprovingly, who just shrugged in Jezebels direction. "What do you want me to say, Jezzy? Anyone who's got secrets deserves to have em ripped out. Plus your the one who went outand got drunk int he middle of my mansion. could of locked yourself in a room, safely tucked away.. Muse, keep playing." He growled the last bit, almost sounding like he was theatening her. At that, Muse clammored to feet and gave Selior a very haughty glare.
"Sorry love, instinct. It's all in good fun, we are her friends." Selior said quickly.
"No we're not!" Rinter protested.
Cornelius sighed, "If you weren't drunk you could have left by now, you see? It is never a kind state.." He lectured knowingly.
Glaring at Selior, Muse sat down like a princess nice and delicately before playing a rather up beat song on the harp.
Jezebel looked grateful when Muse stopped, only to start up again. She whimpered a little and covered her mouth again, sitting on the table so she wouldn't move from that spot.
"If you were my friends you wouldn't do this!" She insisted, through her hand still. Because heaven knows what would come out next...
She looked at Rinter, and got up. "You know, I can't stand you. You have to be the most infuriating person I've ever met." She stood where she was, gripping the table because every nerve told her to move. "And I even try to be nice and you're still a complete a** to me, and I can't for the life of me figure out why!"
Because it was something she obsessed over sometimes. But only when she was truly that bored. "I haven't done anything to you to get treated that way, that you didn't provoke outta me first, and every time I hit you I apologized for it later anyway!"
s**t! She covered her mouth quickly, fuming. "Muse!"
Muse smiled at the other woman innocently. What? Nothing embaressing so far?
"Maybe this is why I never seem to keep my friends.." Selior said outloud, thoughtfully. "Oh, Rinter, looks liek you are hurting her feelings." He teased, shaking his head at Muse. "You can cut it out Muse, she's gonna end up hitting me and not appolagize. The horror!" He continued.
Cornelius smiled at Jez, "You are being silly, you haven't done anything to be embaressed of. Save for being drunk in and of itself..." He said with a snort.
Rinter scoffed. "Of course I am. You people think I don't know how much my opinion matters to you... But I think this is a very good example, and makes it painfully obvious." He said matter of factly.
Well, at least Jezebel wasn't so embarrassed as to not challenge Rinter on what he said. She let go of the table, glaring at him.
"Well if you didn't talk down to everyone, people might like you better!" She pointed out bluntly, stepping towards him determinedly. "And you can't just go about judging people because of one or two mishaps in the past because you aren't ever going to go anywhere with anyone if you do!"
She stopped, and crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at him challengingly.
Rinter looked somewhat perplexed. "Why on this earth do you think I want people to like me?" He asked slowly, crossing his arms aswell and slowly sliding away from the.. what he considere dto be, semi insane woman.
Muse got up, hurrying over to Selior looking concerned. "She' always get's all mad when she's around us." Selior said with a snort, looking at Muse innocently who was busy jamming her fist into his ribs. Cornelius watched teh rest of them rather amused.
"Oh come off it." Jezebel rolled her eyes at Rinter, exasperated. "No one wants to be alone all the time. You're human, you're naturally going to want contact and you keep pushing everyone away for some stupid reason." She replied haughtily, watching him.
"One of these times you're gonna actually want company, and you know what? You're goin' to shove away anyone who ever tried to be a friend to you, Rinter." She glared at him a little. "You can't be alone all the time, it's too hard to be lonely like that and not have anyone to turn to besides your robots!"
She didn't even remember the other three were in there, too involved with her discussion with Rinter. Because, to her, an argument involved a frying pan and a concussion or two.
"When I find someone worthwhile to keep company with, maybe then that will make sense. As of now, my drunken little cavewoman, everyone in this mansion seems like a waste of time." He was being quite hurtful which only ment he felt infringed upon, he took another step away from her rather protectively of himself and glanced over at Selior. "Why don't you go back to talking to her, she always ends up hitting me?"
Jezebel rolled her eyes a little at him, and watched him for a minute. And instead of hitting him or freaking out on him or anything like that, she just remained calm.
"The way you keep actin'? You're not gonna have any options for someone worthwhile." She said calmly, before turning and looking at Selior and Muse. Her lip curled into a slight sneer. "You lot amused enough yet? If you don't mind."
She started to walk to the door, no doubt in search of more alcohol, arms around herself in a supportive gesture. Being anyone's 'waste of time' wasn't exactly high on things that Jezzy was affected by, but every now and again, even the tiniest things hurt.
