Kyou nodded, he knew what it was like to be treated differently because of a physical defect. "It's a stupid reason." he said "I know what you mean though. People don't speak to me because of my horns. They're not curved like Seelie horns, I've heard people whisper such horrible things about my mother. They think I'm illegitimate, that my father was really a Dragon, or worse a Demon." he looked down, hiding the tears that were welling up in his eyes "I like your eyes, Hyde. I think they're beautiful."

Hyde watched Kyou and moved briskly forward when he saw Kyou was getting down again, he stood infront of the Seelie and let his hand settle under Kyou's chin, tilting the others head up so he could see Kyou's face. He frowned when he noticed the tears welling up.
"and there is nothing wrong with you Kyou, I think your horns are magnificent and thank you for listening to me" he said softly, letting his hand fall from cupping Kyou's chin and it rested across his hip.

Kyou forced a smile but ruined it by letting a tear run down his cheek. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to start crying." he said quietly, secretly missing the other man's touch as his hand left his face. It wasn't very offen that people showed affection towards him, but now he understood that Hyde was in a similar situation, at least he had been.

"it's fine, better out than in in this case at least" Hyde said, a smile tugging at his lips as he moved his hand up again to wipe the tear from his cheek. His twin colored eyes studying Kyou closely for more sighs of sorrow.
"don't get upset, no one else matters you and your closest are number one" he said softly, letting his hand rest on Kyou's cheek this time.

Kyou coloured slightly but his tear stopped falling. Slowly he raised his own hand and placed it over Hyde's gently.
"You're right." he replied quietly, "And it's not all that bad, I can't complain really. If we hadn't had hardship we would never have learned to heal, and then we would never have met."

Hyde smiled softly, Kyou was getting bolder, a few weeks back he would have run a mile when he attempted to touch him, now he was returning the favour. He smiled and brushed his thumb across his cheek gently.
"yes it's good we're friends now" he clarified, with a happy smile.

Kyou smiled and nodded, happy that he was being touched again. Only a month ago, he would have been frightened by it but he had come to realise that affection was nothing to be afraid of, and that no one was going to do him any harm, especially not Hyde.
"Do you think we should go back now?" he asked nervously.

Hyde smiled and nodded, turning his body and letting his hand drop again. He moved to open the door and peeked out, slightly worried peopel would begin talking if it was found out he had snuck Kyou out of the ball and taken him to a secluded room.
"c'mon lets go Kyou" he murmured gently, takign the others hand and gently tugging him out of the door.

Prince Charming drifted across the dancefloor coolly, receiving glances from all directions. He still had his mask up to his face and he was now peering around at all of the interesting attendants of the ball. The prince huffed with boredom as he picked up a glass of wine and finally lowered his mask to sip at it. Charming was having a horrifying bout of unluck lately; he'd had no meetings of import whatsoever lately. When Charming thought about it, he really would much rather be riding around on a gallant white horse and saving princesses from dragons and what-not. Charming shook his head as if to clear it and drank the remaing wine in his cup(quite a bit of it) in one last gulp before setting it down and placing his impassive mask over the perfect features(as far as Charming was concerned) of his face.

Kyou followed obediantly, praying that no one had seen them. He would have a lot of explaining to do if his father saw him holding hands with another man, and probably another ten years in a monastery, unless his father decided the monastery was responsible. This thought made him giggle slightly, and he covered his mouth with one hand to stifle it.

Hyde was on the look out for Kyou's father aswell, he didn't want to land Kyou in trouble though he was reluctant to let the others hand go. He turned when he heard the stifled gigle and stopped a smile on his face.
"whats so funny?" he asked, resting his hand on Kyou's shoulder.

Kyou looked up at the other man and smiled. "I was thinking that my father would send me back to the monastery if he saw us like this. But then I thought he'd probably hold the monks responsible." it was a weird thing to laugh about, and wholly inapropriate, but for some reason it amused him.

Hyde chuckled, well now that was rather funny.
"i'd probably get thrown out on my face, or locked up" Hyde answered rather merrily, he scratched at the back of his arm warmers, his arms were beginning to throb painfully. But he hid it from Kyou by leaving them alone. He still had Kyou's hand in his, and he was reluctant to let Kyou go back in with everyone around.
"well let's go" he said, tugging Kyou gently into a walk and heading up the long hall and towards the doors to the ballroom.

Kyou nodded as they approached the ballroom and reluctantly let go of the other man's hand. It was really too dark for anyone to notice them, but the young fae was overly cautious. He also noticed the other man tug at his armwarmers slightly and thought that he might have been causing the elf healer some sort of discomfort.

Hyde donned his mask again and opened the door, letting Kyou going in first. As if they entered together, that would be questioned aswell, and he was in discomfort, so he was thinking of sneaking away. He tugged at his armwarmers again and cursed in his head.
"you go first, so they won't suspect" he said quietly, hiding himself behind the other closed door.
