All I have to say is, I am now a believer in the Scottish Play....
I'm currently ASM for a production of Twelfth Night. During tech week, one of our actors said the name of the Scottish play.... this is what has happened thus far... and we still have three shows left.
About half an hour before final dress we have a power surge and lose all power in the theatre for about an hour. Our show involved a revolve which we had always had issues with but we had to hold house on opening night and then the next weekend it broke completely about an hour before the show and we're doing the rest of the run without a revolve. Our understudy for Feste broke his foot and we have an understudy show, our Curio got into a car wreck, our understudy Toby had to have surgery so couldn't be at the understudy performance, and our understudy Olivia dropped out for personal reasons.
RIDICULOUS.

All I know is one of our actors (damn actors...) was all "I'll say it, I'm not scared!" and that night we blew a breaker and once that was fixed, the stage lights wouldn't come on for a little while... as the master electrician and lighting designer, I believe.

My worst experience with it was when I was in a show called "Psycho Beach Party", and somebody supposedly said the "M" word:
-we lost one of our supporting actresses when she threw out her back -one of our actors broke his toe backstage -the night before dress rehearsals started, our director was in a car accident, and had to spend two weeks in the hospital recovering
Needless to say, I do not mess around with that word.

Well, my high school finially performed Macbeth, and on opening night, one of my friends was a runner. She tripped on a wire backstage and twisted her ankle. Plus there was a lot of technical problems with our sound system.

The first performance, a character dropped dead on stage for no apparent reason. No Health problems, no anything.
I'm surprised not a lot of people knew this XD
