Look, the only reason that certain drugs are illeagl is money. When the government can't tax something it becomes illeagl. And with drinking, it can always be taxed because people are always going to drink. Drugs are only used illeaglly because people use them for non-medicne pourouses. If they were diluted down and used in a safe manner, then some could be used for good. Not all of them, but enough that our american medicene would be alot better!!
Drinking is popular because people like to relax. People like to have something relax them. And alcohol being a central nervous system depressant just makes it a great stress reliver. I should know. sweatdrop
But i say as long as it dosen't become an addiction, it can be used for good.

As are you. =)

You cant honestly say drugs have any real benefit. A man once ripped his own face off after taking to much angel dust. I saw the picture it was awesome.
That's called an OD.
and if that's why they should be illegal, I guess all medicine just went out the door.

And they do have benefit.
They relieve stress (in moderation) and give a fun time.

-adds on- And wine has been proven to thin blood. . .Keeping people alive longer!

It shouldn't be illegal, because the same thing will happen now as with Prohibition in the 1920's. =P The problem will only become worse and worse; as the saying goes, "People want what they can't have."

Alohol isn't as horrible for you as illegal drugs. Coke or other hard core drugs will not be legalized because of the horrible health risks that happen. Alcohol is legal because it does give the government money but also its effects on the human body are less severe then those of many illegal drugs. Alcohol has been part of human history for thousands of years. Not just the last few centuries. Alcohol has been illegal before and is still illegal is some counties in the south. However, it did not work out for most of the United States. Speakeasies were very common and people making millions of dollars on these illegal bars. Boot legging was huge. If you haven't taken AMerican History yet, you'll learn a lot about this time period.

Alcohol does damage your brain. However you are more likely to be come addicted when you are younger then if you start drinking when you're older. I do believe the drinking age should be lowered. In Germany you can drink at 16 but you can't drive until 18. A little od to me but whatever.

By the way, chocolate and caffine are drugs too. razz They affect your brain chemistry and therefore are drugs.

The first time my friend Pat did MDMA he insisted on getting in a fistfight with a friend of his. It wasn't ill-intentioned, he just really felt like fighting. His friend obliged. Apparently it was quite fun.

My mom is a drunk, so I've had plenty of experiences centered around the possible negative effects of alcohol. There was one instance of her, naked, throwing bricks at the neighbor's house.

In my humble opinion, pot should be legal if alcohol is. Tax the s**t out of it. It's like tobacco, people will pay a ton for cigarettes, but won't bother to grow it themselves. I hear all this crap about border violence because of cops trying to stop drug dealers. People lose their lives, it costs a ton of money, not because of pot, but because of the fact that it's illegal. It's ridiculous. What are the real bad side effects of pot? You'll eat a lot of chips. You'll likely gain weight because of it. You'll have no aspirations because you're totally fine with working a shitty job and watching cartoons on your days off. And that's not even a guarantee. Those are just the bad, POSSIBLE side effects.

E/X/Ecstasy/MDMA was originally used in therapy. MDMA makes you freakishly happy, allowing people to talk about things that would otherwise be painful, offensive, or embarrassing. It became illegal after club kids starting abusing it. Now let's go over the possible really awful side effects: Promiscuity (everything seems so hunky dory, while not have awesome sex with some person you don't know? Regardless, I know very chaste people that won't full around with anyone while rolling, simply because of their morals), overdose, and exhaustion/dehydration (usually caused by people dancing nonstop). There's a term known as "Suicide Sunday," used by club kids, referring to the day after using E. This is because E caused your brain to vomit forth Serotonin, which regulates mood and appetite. The next day your brain is depleted, making the person extremely unhappy. This can be lessened by taking supplements that helps increase Serotonin levels.

LSD/Acid destroys your sense of direction, resulting in more than one person getting lost in the wilderness while attending parties in remote locations. Pain receptors are dulled. Depending on the amount used, it is possible to lose your sense of reality.

I'll go more in depth later, I have to go.

Alcohol should be legal. Drugs should be legal. It all should be legal.

By the way, remember what happened last time we made alcohol illegal in America? Prohibition was like the beginning of organized crime/gangs. Part of the reason why gangs still exist is because we have illegal drugs for them to have turf wars over.

Making alcohol illegal means you're going to make a huge percentage of people into criminals, and make breaking laws seem even more commonplace and normal than it already is.
