{Journal Entry} ...// Opening Sevedasjournal.exe...// Loading May 3rd 2007I'm not really sure what the reason behind it is, but Kitten has presented me with a new pet. No doubt this creature, who I have named Qavoil, is simply a plus side of her new job that she had obtained. I was not pleased to recieve the pet, as I was in the middle of a book at the time, but the small green glowing thing has grown on me. Not that I am in love with it, but I am no longer against it.
Lately I have been feeling very...irritable towards the world. Or perhaps it is not irritable that I feel but just rather blah. I feel as though I want nothing to do with anyone, though there's no one there to feel anything for, and I wish not to be bothered with things that I usually love. Kitten has suggested that it is simply because I am a teenager and that all teenagers feel this way at points but I don't think that's the problem. Kitten has never been a teenager like me. She has never been nothing more than a specimin at some lab and she does not know what it feels like to never be able to go outside. But I should not be blaming these things on Kitten. I will accept this glow-bug happily and I will try my best to over-come whatever it is I'm facing. {End Documentation}

{Language Entry} ...// Opening Japaneselevel1.exe...// Loading May 7th 2007Kitten presented me with the most interesting collection of symbols today. Some were loopy while others looked rather stick like. There were also a few that would look exactly like another one but it was different because it had little dashes or cirlces next to it. She said that the alphabets were called hiragana and katakana. I think those words sound too similar. Are the Japanese trying to confuse people?!
Actually, I'm really excited about learning this new language. The man in my MP3 Player...Rain was it? He sings in the most beautiful voice and the language seems to just roll of his tongue. I hope that I can talk like that one day.
So far Kitten has only taught me the first 5 symbols. I don't think they're too hard, but I'm sure that the more I learn the harder it will get. their vowels are a lot like ours though, I think, except that the 'i' symbol makes an 'ee' sounds and the 'e' symbol makes an 'eh' sound. Not too confusing. Not as confusing as that one character that Kitten said was the hirigana letter for 'ne'. Ouch, that looks like a lot of looping! And she said it gets even harder! When I learn to master hiragana and katakana she said that there's something called kanji too! So many alphabets!

{Language Entry} ...// Opening Japaneselevel2.exe...// Loading May 7th 2007I have been working very hard on learning this alphabet for Japanese but I've found it's very difficult. Often Kitten will come to me and correct some mistake I have made or point out that I have written a letter in a wrong order. I don't really understand that at all though. Why must I write in a certain order? If it looks the same then how can anyone tell the difference? But Kitten tells me that many people can see the difference and so I should work very hard to make sure I am doing it correctly. I'd definitally feel really bad if no one could read what I was writting simply because I had made a silly mistake.
The other thing I am working on is that I am learning many new words, such as greetings and introductions. There are even different ways to say things like hello and good bye and although I don't find that strange, I find it almost intimidating because there are so very many different ways to say such simple things in English. There are things that are easier, according to Kitten, but so far I am only experiencing that it is more difficult. Kitten said that it's because I don't remember how hard it was to learn English, but I'm having a hard time believing her. For now I will say sayonara, which is good-bye in Japanese.

{Making New Friends} ...// Opening Friends.exe...// Loading May 12th 2007It was another perfect day for curling up in the greenhouse and soaking up the warmth of the sun and Seveda was taking the opportunity to the fullest. While Kitten grumbled to herself over piles of paper work and did her best to avoid the heat, Seveda had a sketchbook in her lap that she had begged the gary-haired woman for. A pencil was held awkwardly in her hands as she attempted to draw a collection of tulips Kitten had told her to study. Kitten had tried to tell the girl to just draw like she was writing with large, fluid lines so she didn't hold her pencil so strangely, but the teen just didn't seem to understand.
The image on the page didn't much seem like anything special, but if anyone had flicked through the earlier pages they would notice she had improved a bit. As Seveda looked back up at the tulip she'd wrinkle her nose and pick up her spray bottle to re-mist the plant. Kitten warned her about over-watering plants, but Seveda was careful. She didn't want her little friend to get too over-heated on such a hot day. Alinedra stretched on the lawn and plopped over on her back. Staring up at the sky it couldn't be a more perfect day. Eden was playing in the grass nearby with Gong-Xi, his newly aquired playmate, and work was going well. Looking up at the clouds, she began to daydream and discern shapes from them. Ali could swear the one up and to her right looked an awful lot like a clown with very large feet, but it quickly changed to what then looked like a teddy bear. Laughing, she moved to her side and had her heart stop for a moment. Eden was gone!
Panicking, Alinedra shot up to a sitting position and looked about. Toward the greenhouses, she spotted a bright red spot and noticed it as eden's hair. The little guy had taken off to the greenhouse at full speed. Cursing, Ali threw the blanket they had layed out over her shoulder and took off after him.
For such a small one, he had what Ali could swear was super speed, reaching the greenhouse well before she could even think what he could be up to. She watched as he threw the door open and ran inside. Almost at his heels, and skidding to turn into the door, she came up on Eden giggling with glee, and Observer Kitten with her charge sitting but five feet away. Emberassed but in need of some oxygen, Ali dropped the blanket and put her hands on her hips, trying to unpinch the knot that had developed in her side.
Both Seveda and Kitten looked up when the little red-headed child darted in and both of them simply blinked in mild amusement. Kitten remained silent for the main reason that she didn't want Alinedra to feel rushed into talking while Seveda remained silent simply because it wasn't a situation she felt like she belonged in. Instead of saying anything, Seveda simply lifted a hand to wave in greeting to the two, flashing an extra smile in Eden's direction, before turning back to the tulip infront of her.
Kitten shook her head at the amazingly antisocial responce from her little daydreamer. Typical. Well, not so much. Usually Seveda was all excited about meeting children, but today the girl seemed just completely non-commited to the entire situation.
After a moment Kitten would push aside her papers and lean back in her chair, crossing her arms over her chest. "You've got quite the cute little hellion there miss. I admire your energy." Kitten certainly couldn't handle kids when they were at that age and she sure as hell didn't know how Seveda could actually enjoy it.
Brushing her hair out of her face while holding on to the wriggling Eden, Alinedra smiled back at Kitten. "Hellion would be correct, but cute is beginning to become debatable." Tussling his hair, he suddenly became interested in what Seveda was doting over. Escaping her grasp, he went to the floor and began talking with her in as well a way as any four year old could.
Feeling Eden seemed innocent enough talking with the girl, Ali turned her attentions back to Kitten. "It's not hard to find the energy for it, but i have most definately had no trouble sleeping since i took him in. " Chuckling, she moved a bit into the greenhouse so she could lean on one of the counters. Straightening the clothes that had gotten mussied in her run after Eden, she couldn't help but feel she was being smothered in the summer greenhouse heat.
" How do you stand it in here? It's so hot these days... hard enough being outside sometimes. Let alone in a humid greenhouse." She asked, grabbing the colour of her shirt and fanning her neck with it.
Meanwhile, Eden had jumped to his knees infront of the girl child much like himself. Used to normal adults, he didn't have much knowledge of any others. Pointing at the paper with his stubby little fingers, he asked "What dat?" In his lazy toddler speech Ali so hated to hear. Scooting closer to get a good look at the paper, he squeeled with delight as he made the connection between the tulips on the paper and the tulips in front of the girl.
Seveda offered a warm smile to the boy as he plopped down beside her. "I'm drawing. Do you like to draw?" she asked, flipping a few pages of her sketchbook for the little boy to see. She couldn't help but notice that he smelled as good as the warm summer day outside and she wondered if she herself smelled like the flowers she loved and sketched so often.
After a moment the girl offered the book and her pencil to the boy. "Would you like to try? I'll let you draw in my book if you tell me your name," she grinned. Seveda was just naturally good with children some how. She had the soft voice that a mother used, but it became hard as a rock when she needed to be stern. Of course the voice she used now was simply sweet and airy.
"When I get too over heated I just morph into something that can stand the heat better until after I've cooled off," the woman replied, looking as natural as any woman did when giving a simple explaination. Kitten didn't think it was weird that she could change and she didn't expect others to think it was weird either.
Looking over at Eden, Kitten shook her head with a small frown upon her lips. "I didn't know Seveda as a child, but I think even then she was as cool and collected as she is now. She simply likes to read and learn and stare out of windows. Running about was never really something she'd enjoy." The frown curled into a smile as she talked about her little girl. Even though Kitten was clearly not her real mother and even though Kitten had just admitted she'd only recently come to meet Seveda, Kitten still felt like the girl was her own daughter.
Eden beamed at the girl with his casual smile and told the girl his name. As she handed over the sketching materials, he tried to sit in the same position she was, to get what he assumed was optimum ability. After he'd done that though, and stared at the paper and pencil for a moment, he curled his face into a knot and asked, "what i do?"
In the background, Alinedra continued to fan herself. "I tell you, i sometimes wish i could do something to myself to cool off. I never was one for humidity. I love a dry heat." Having accepted that people in the Vale were different, she couldn't even imagine what Kitten was talking about, but went along with it as to not offend. And she did wish sometimes that she could change forms, it had always been a dream of hers.
Noticing a stool under the counter, she pulled it out and sat on it, seeing how Eden had made himself comfortable. Looking down, she noticed Gong-Xi jumping up behind Eden. How his little familiar had gotten in she had no idea, but it never ceased to amaze her how it always found its way back to Eden. She'd assumed it had been just a normal Grasshopper, but she wondered now if she'd have to change her assumption.
"Seveda does seem nice and peaceful. Perhaps she'll rub off a bit on Eden here. I fear only because if he's like this as child, i can't even imagine when he's a teenager..." Cringing at the thought, the red haired woman brushed the hair out of her eyes. Eden of course had a long way to go before he would grow up. Already he should be older than he was. Part of her research was based around his paused growth due to psychological components. Not that she was anxious to have him grow up and "move out" so to speak, but Ali wasn't entirely sure it was healthy developementaly stuck at an age such as his. Bad habits becoming too engrained and what not.
"So, what are your plans for the day?" She asked, smiling at Kitten. Ali hadn't exactly made any plans past playing outside, and with how well the two young ones were getting along, it might not be a bad idea to socialize for once.
"Eden? What a nice name you have. My name's Seveda," the teen replied sweetly, smiling at the boy as he took the materials and watched him shift into position. She wasn't really sure how to respond to 'what i do' since it seemed to be, in her opinion, a relatively easy thing to figure out how to do. "Well, you hold the pencil and then you just draw whatever you want. You don't have to draw what you see. Just put the pencil on the paper and move it around until it looks like what you want it to look." Clearly Seveda was not made out to be an art teacher.
Kitten nodded slightly as she flipped through a few of her papers, only taking a casual glance up as the woman sat down with her. Certainly she wasn't trying to be rude, but Kitten thought herself rather good at multi-tasking and the moment called for it. Uennie had many things in store for the Vale and Kitten had been appointed to help her with all these things, though the woman hadn't been aware of just how much that entailed. Now she found herself pouring over papers day in and day out. It wasn't that she didn't want the company, in truth she really needed it, but usually the company had to deal with the fact that every now and then Kitten would flip to a new sheet of paper and scribble something down.
As Ali spoke of Eden she turned a bit to get a better look at her charge and the little red-haired boy, smiling as Seveda placed her hand over Eden's in order to help show him how he was supposed to hold the pencil and how to make a piece of wood 'work'. She giggled softly when Seveda looked over at her, but they didn't really need to say anything. "I have no doubt he'll be a wonderful teenager," she said to Ali, unaware of the situation reguarding Eden.
"The rest of the day?" she asked with brows raised. "I...I suppose I was just going to work on all this paper work. It never seems to go away you know," she said, trailing off as she looked at the slowly growing 'finished' stack. Turning back to Ali she smiled, "And what do you and your little boy have planned for the day? I'm sure he's got many things in store for you, hmm?"
Watching Kitten shuffle through her work made Alinedra feel just a little guilty she wasn't off doing her own research, but she shook off the feeling. Eden and Ali were allowed one day a week where no paperwork was involved. It meant she had to do more work the day before and after, but it was worth it for a full day of play and relax time with just each other.
" Oh, we were thinking of having a lunch picnic down by the lake in about an hour. After that, who knows. You're welcome to join us though, i confess i got a little carried away with food." Ali smiled, remembering the basket full of enough food to feed ten men waiting in the cooler of her lab. Half of it Eden's regulated diet food, half of it odds and ends she had placed in there for herself.
In the mean time, Eden was quickly learning what Seveda was teaching him. He now could hold his pencil correctly, and draw shapes that he knew. Throwing a glance back at Ali, he held up the sketchbook and proclaimed loudly, "LOOK! I'm a'artist!" much to the enjoyment of his keeper.
Putting the paper down on his lap again, he turned to the girl sitting beside him. "You like me. Not like Ali." It was a simple sort of statement, one that fit his blunt personality. " But not me? More like Ali." Staring at the girl with large inquisitive eyes, he seemed to scan her for more details, as if something in her face or hair or posture would answer the question for him.
The currently gray-haired woman gave a wide smile at the invitation and nodded. "That's so very kind of you! I confess, I do not often get to make Seveda good, home-made food because of my lack of time, but I know she would simply love to be out on a picnic. I would too, of course. A break from these papers is always a bright moment of my day," she joked, sticking her tongue childishly out at the stack that refused to go down. Realizing suddenly that she had agreed to go on a picnic date with a woman she didn't even know the name to, Kitten promply stick out a welcoming hand. "I'm Researcher Kitten by the way. I was made head of the Darwin Wing a while back but I must say it was a bit more than I thought I could handle if you know what I mean."
The teen, meanwhile, watched the boy as he doodled, smiling and pointing out things here and there with one of those soft but congradulatory voices. "You're a wonderful artist Eden," she cooed sweetly, lifting a hand to ruffle his bright red locks before stopping with a curious expression at his sudden statement about what she was but wasn't. "Ah..." she started before closing her mouth and thinking about it. She felt like she didn't really understand what he was saying and she really wanted to be able to answer it properly.
"Yes. I'm a great deal like you. Kitten is my guardian like Ali is yours," she said, assuming Ali was the woman sitting over to the side with Kitten. "But you're right. We're different in many ways. Like Ali, I'm more grown up than you, but I think I'm still younger than her. I'm what people call a teenager. Also, I don't know what you are," Seveda started, referring to her lack of knowledge of what plant he'd been 'grown' from, "but I don't think you're a tulip like I am." {Incomplete}

{Meeting Trishta} ...// Opening Trishta.exe...// Loading July 18th 2007Trishta wandered around her new work place with a mop in hand that left a murky trail of water behind her. She hadn't quite known what she would be getting herself into when she had sent out her resume to various companies that were hiring, all she had known was that she needed a job and they had been hiring. The girl had been ecstatic at finding her caller machine blinking at her when she had returned home from a long day of job hunting. She had half expected it to be just her mom nagging about whether she had found a job yet but it had been from the Vale of Earth. They had offered her a job and without thinking twice about the offer she had called them back.
The young woman, barely a woman having just turned twenty-one only a few months ago, had gotten up bright and early to meet her contact, Edwin Bayton, at the lobby of the building. Trishta had been surprised when she found that Mr. Bayton met her in casual clothes that were stained in grass and mud. He explained to her kindly the details of the job she had accepted. It dealt with cleaning and running errands. The news had been slightly disappointing but the girl had given a large smile and tried to approached the job with optimism.
The dark haired girl had only started working an hour ago with earnest in having the floors mopped and waxed to shine beautifully but she had gotten distracted as she realized how large the place was. As she had been cleaning, Trishta had come to the entrance of BioDome and since then she has been staring through the glass walls, trying to get a peek at the flora inside so hard that her breath had created fog on the glass.
She lifted her face away from the glass, wiping away the fog with her sleeve, "I wonder what else they have in this place. All those weird looking plants. I've only seen those in movies."
Seveda, the little dolt she could be, had managed to lock herself out of her little apartment shared between her and Kitten and despite having called her care-taker to fix the matter Kitten was currently unreachable. This didn't seem to put a damper in the spirits of the tulip girl as she hummed to herself, half skipping along the hallway for the simple reason of exploring. Like any day-dreaming teenage girl, Seveda did not notice much else around her, especially not the trail of water that made the floor ever so slippery.
One bad step sent her tumbling, her legs kicking into the air and her rump landing hard upon the floor, jarring her teeth uncomfortably. "Owwies," the girl said with a pout, about to sniffle something about how she wasn't going to be able to sit down for a week when she realized that she'd just slipped into murky water. Murky water was worse than non murky water because murky water had dirt and dirt stained clothes, namely her pretty green skirt that was soaking up the water as if they were roots. "Nooo, stop that!" she scolded her skirt, scrambling quickly out of the water and shaking off her skirt the best she could. At least it didn't look like it was going to stain. Maybe at worst it would just be damp for the next hour or so.
It too the girl a while to question exactly why she'd slipped on water in a hallway where it had clearly not recently rained, for they were inside. Noticing that it was a trail and not simply a puddle, Seveda followed the water until she saw the girl admiring the bio-dome. "I've never been in a movie," the teen said softly but loud enough for the girl to hear and get her attention.
"Holy freaking smacks!" The girl cried out as she took a step back to where a puddle had formed beneath the mop leading to a fall with a rather resounding shriek and the clatter of the mop hitting the ground.
Trishta rubbed at her wet butt, her face scrunched up in pain and disdain before her golden eyes looked up to see who had spoken. In front of her was a girl of strange coloring, no older than perhaps a young teen. Quickly scrambling to her feet and picking up the mop, the young woman stared at Seveda for a good minute or so before saying anything.
"What are you?"
As soon as the words were out of her mouth she had clamped a hand over her mouth in surprise. She hadn't meant to be so rude with such a blunt question. Her eyebrows formed wrinkles as she began to apologize excessively to the young girl.
Hesitantly, Seveda stepped back, worried by the string of words that came out of the other girl's mouth. The teen hadn't ever heard anything quite like it and it really wasn't making sense. "What's a smacks?" Seveda started before the girl suddenly tumbled over. With a squeek the girl hurridly rushed to her side to help her up, brushing at her clothes with a hand but doing a terrible job of being polite about the whole thing as she just continued to brush at the girl's butt without realizing what she was doing.
What was she? Seveda looked as confused by the question as she felt. "I'm...a girl?" she asked in reply, not really sure how one was supposed to go about answering a question that had very clear answer. The pink skinned girl may have been only a teen, but she wasn't so under-developed in the femine department that people would wonder what gender she was. Screwing up her face a bit, Seveda tilted her head to the side. "What am I supposed to be?"
Trishta wanted to smack herself on the head but refrained. Obviously the girl in front of her was a girl, that hadn't quite been what she been asking. The woman tried to form the words to explain her own question but seeing the confused look on Seveda's face she just shook it off.
Holding out her dirty right hand, she introduced herself, "Hi. I'm Trishta. Umm... what's your name?"
It would've been rude to ask more into the matter, might as well get to know the young girl and find out little by little, Trishta thought as she waited for the pink girl to give her name. Perhaps it was better this way. This way she didn't have to suffer from traumatic shock if she found out some horrible secret behind the Vale of Earth, not that she expected to, but then again, Gaia is a strange place with strange inhabitants.
At the sight of the hand, Seveda brightened considerably and gave the girl a bright smile. "Hello Trisha," she said, missing the t in her name completely. "My name's Seveda, but a lot of people call me Sevvy. Are you new here?" the girl asked in one breath. Clearly she was very excited to meet a new person.
It wasn't all that often that the girl was able to meet new people since she never actually left the Vale. She'd dreamed of the Vale and what she could do outside of it, but Kitten had always told her that it wasn't possible. Nights were passed with Seveda watching a movie Kitten had made for her of the outside world. "What's...what's it like out there?" Seveda asked suddnely, not aware the other girl might not understand where 'there' was. It's not like everyday someone comes up and asks what it's like to live life.
"Its Trish-T-a," she responded quietly to the girl, a weak laugh escaping her for unknown reasons.
Dropping her hand to her side, the young woman listened to Seveda's question in surprise. Out there? Where is there? Her face scrunched up in thought until the thought hit her. The real world. The girl was a pretty teen with a lovely shade of pink as her skin, but even for a world like Gaia, that would be slightly strange.
Trishta began with by uttering until she cleared her throat and took a deep breath before trying again, "Its different. Cruel and wonderful. Beautiful and ugly." She stopped, she didn't even understand what she had said so how could a girl who had never left the walls of Vale of Earth? Wait... "You've never been outside of this building?"
Seveda blushed lightly at the girl's pronunciation of her name. She felt foolish for saying it wrong and she quickly murmurred an apology. The explaination of the world outside was...less than helpful. The teen could hardly put an image to something, let along something that was apparently a world of differences. She'd been hoping for something more, something with visual descriptions to give her an idea of what was out there. Seveda didn't express her disappointment aloud though.
"Of course I've never been out there," the girl replied with a shocked look. None of the specimin were allowed out, except maybe the eldest of the eldest, but she'd never met any of them. Actually, as far as Seveda was concerned, she was the oldest one at the lab, but she had heard rumors that there were more, that there were others that had grown older than she had. "This building is safe," she finished softly with a small smile that told of a teen who was only repeating her mother but didn't quite believe the words. {Incomplete}

{Within the Darwin Wing} ...// Opening Mara.exe...// Loading July 26th 2007The Darwin Wing was cool and welcoming compared to the over-bearing heat of the Green-House which, in Seveda's opinion, spelled death on all accounts. As a tulip, Seveda of course adored the sun and the warmth that it brought, but without water or something else that would keep her cool, Seveda thought she would likely drop dead in the heat trapped within the room. And thus the girl had retreated to the Darwin Wing, forgetting to close the door behind her as only her and Kitten were technically supposed to be within the unfinished Wing.
Kitten had certainly done a lot of work on the new Wing, working overtime in an attempt to get it up to working speed for the observers and other specimin of the Vale. Unfortunatly, every step forward seemed to present another step back and with each turn Kitten was forced to push the opening of the new Wing back a few days.
Today, Seveda found herself with a new collection of companion pets that Kitten had recently recieved and studied. The grasshoppers stared blankly at her from behind the glass while the glow-bugs lit up excitedly at the sight of their favorite teenager. Fish splashed lightly, trying to get Seveda's attention and she giggled as she inched over to the guppy pool. "Hey you guys," she cooed to the surface of the pool, smiling at the sight of the wide-eyed guppies. Reaching into her pocket, Seveda began crumbling little treats into the water for the fish, humming softly to herself as she did so.
Well, Mara had never been one for rules, or rather, Kealdrana had not, and Mara had unkowingly picked up this disregard. Seeing as she'd been away far to long to remember any such rules, or the fact that the wing was simply to far beyond her comprehension of 'off limits'. Mara was sure that they could use her help anywhere and everywhere, so somehow she'd ventured into the Darwin wing, gasping at all of the things that miracuously appeared before her as she ventured in.
She paused for a moment at the entrance, gazing carefully at the embolized letters forewarning the contents that lay inside. Kealdrana had told her something about it 'never opening'. Of course, Mara thought that neither had been there long enough to know, and a peek couldn't hurt. Musing lightly, Mara assumed that this seemed to be a regular thought and that perhaps the Darwin wing was visited much more than it should have been.
This almost seemed confirmed as Mara stepped into the place. Not too far distant was another young Vale 'patient' who appeared to be treating some of the creatures in the inhabitants like the best of friends.
A choke caught the back of her throat as she remembered all the times she had to be left alone in those tubes. Yet it seemed so long ago now. . .
"Hey," she whispered quietly, slipping the rest of the way into the cool wing and sliding her way towards the young girl as softly as she could. It seemed a sin to distrupt the area with loud noise.
Seveda almost hadn't heard the soft whisper of the woman behind her, but all the companions in the room had suddenly taken to making a bit more noise than usual and her little guppy friends had all turned their wide eyes in the direction of the disturbance, though they couldn't actually see anything what with the woman not standing just above the water. Curiously, the teen turned her head towards the door, her mouth slipping open a bit at the sight of the beautiful woman before her.
Suddenly remembering it wasn't good manners to sit there with one's mouth wide open and trying to catch flies, she promptly zipped her lips together for a moment. A voice whispered in Seveda's head that she hoped she'd be as pretty as the green-skinned woman before her, and Seveda couldn't help but let a tiny smile form upon her lips. "How did you get in here?" the girl asked, slipping her hand into her pocket to replace the rest of the treats she'd been giving to the fish. Her voice was normal, a bit sing-songy and sweet, a voice that really represented the girl it belonged to.
"I don't think Kitten would want anyone else in here," Seveda started cautiously before shaking her head and letting her smile grow wider. It had been too long since Seveda had had anyone her age (or in Mara's case, older than her) to talk to and it was a welcomed change. Seveda was growing tired of talking to children and babies all the time. "What Kitten doesn't know can't hurt her. I'm Seveda."
Mara glanced behind her at the way she had come. "It was unlocked," was all she said, wondering if the girl before her didn't want her to stay. She wouldn't be surprised, what with her green skin and all? It was certainly an odd color to be. Very odd.
But she supposed it made her seem like a plan to most people. She wondered if she stood really still in a corner, people would confuse her for just that. She would get out a pot and try it someday.
As the young 'specimen' spoke of her not welcome, Mara turned to slip out, but the girl's voice echoed again, causing her to pause. So she was allowed here. Sort of.
Her head told her that kitten would likely come and spot the two of them. Then Mara would be in a deep lot of trouble, and well, that would be no place she wanted to stay. But she would hate to disrespect Seveda and dismiss herself as well. Not when they could be friends.
"Mara," she replied, adding a smile to Seveda's own. "Its beautiful in here," she breathed, daring to take a look around and hoping that Seveda would invite her to see the rest of the place.
Pink skin turned a darker shade around the cheeks as a blush crept in. Unlocked? But that would mean that it had been Seveda's fault for leaving the door open and Kitten would really get mad if she found out about that! Seveda didn't find the green skin unnerving at all, but that may have been because her own skin was a great deal unlike human skin and she was more than used to people giving her odd looks because of it. For the most part though, Seveda looked fairly human giving all the other stranger looking specimen that littered the Vale compound.
Kitten, much to Seveda's current delight, was not actually due to be at the Vale for a great deal of time now. Kitten's other charge, a 'scent baby' as she'd been described, also shared Kitten as a motherly figure. Hopefully some day the teen would be able to meet this 'sister' figure of hers, but at the moment she wasn't allowed to go anywhere.
"Mara? That's a nice name," Seveda replied, smoothing out her skirts slightly as her eyed roamed over Mara's own dress, envying the clothing as much as she envied the beauty of the woman before her. Seveda wondered how much older Mara was than her, but she was really too afraid to ask. "Isn't it? This is just the companion complex, but the other parts of the wing aren't finished yet so I can't show them to you at the moment," It was actually a little dangerous in the other parts of the Wing at the moment and the last thing Seveda needed was a dead Vale on her hands.
Motioning slightly for Mara to come over to her, Seveda crouched down once more next to the pool of guppy fish. Pulling out another handful of treats, Seveda held them out to Mara once she came nearer so that she too could help to feed the tiny fish.
Mara had no relatives, or anyone whom she could readily take care of. Kealdrana took care of her, and her alone. It wasn't a very hard task, mostly it just involved wandering the halls and greeting others. Mara began to wonder if the woman saw her as more of a friend now, than anything she could ever study and was trying to keep Mara out of any observation rooms as much as possible.
"So is Seveda," Mara returned, trying to gain as much like as possible. How she'd love to sit with the young girl for hours, simply talking to another one of her kind. They could do all kinds of things together, and she could teach Seveda what to do with that pretty hair of hers.
"I don't mind," she replied simply, a sweet smile crossing her face as she followed Seveda carefully towards the water, hiking up her kimino so she didn't stretch the fabric my crouching.
Mara took the food from the young child carefully, not wanting to spill any before she got a chance to deliver any of the items into the pond. Each grain was handled with intricate care and she laughed in delight as the fish swam to the surface to retrieve the goodies she placed out for them.
"You must love coming here," Mara whispered, still very afraid of breaking the peace which echoed over. "Its ashame its not open yet, someone could get a lot of love here." She stared off into the water dreamily, thinking of far of things and places that she'd hurry to avoid when asked about.
"I wish it was open as well," Seveda replied with a smile, letting her hands rest upon her knees as the guppy fish made friends with the green-skinned woman who was now feeding them the treats they loved so much. "I could make more friends that weren't babies if people were allowed in here I think. They way I wouldn't have to go looking for people."
The Vale was simply too large for Seveda to spend a lot of time exploring. Exploring meant she'd have to take a great deal of time out of reading or taking care of all the companions and that simply wouldn't be acceptable in the tulip teen's opinion.
"These are all the available companions at the moment. My favorites are the guppies and the glow-bugs, but the butterflies are quite sweet as well." Seveda said, motioning in the direction of the other pets as she continued to watch the guppy pond. The guppies were just so cute with their small bodies and their pretty colours. The other ponds held larger fish, but she didn't like them quite as much. {Incomplete}
