War is stupid. The US shouldn't be over in Iraq in the first place.

But I hope he's ok.

I'm sorry that you have to fight in this stupid war of ours.... I hope that you make it back safe and that you don't have to witness such a thing as war again. cry stare cry sad

I don't believe the war is stupid.
I think that everyone saying that is really demeaning to the soldiers who are putting themselves on the line.
They are doing something that will ultimately make so many lives better.
How can that be a "stupid war" ?

I'm guessing that you're a republican..... But I'll make my point: First off, the was is supposed to be in Afghanistan ((sp)), not in Iraq fighting a war that didn't need to be. I mean, yes, it's something that needs to be done, but don't start another war within a year of 9/11..... I'm not saying that I believe some of the controversy about Bush and Osama, but what I am saying is we're looking for him, and essentially, we've done our job. We should take out our troops and leave them to their business.... I think that we should focus on our unrest, than the rest of the world's.....

OK, now to the thing about 'stupid war' being demeaning to the soldier's..... that's not what I meant (I don't know about the rest of everyone that's said it). I support our troops, and I do support our nation. I know that what our soldier's are doing is right, and that sometimes war is necessary((sp, it's sat. morn.... need I say more?)), but this war isn't.

I agree with blu_aura completely. I hate war and I think it was a foolish decision to go over there. It was a bad idea and I don't see how it can end well for the US. Although I see why we just can't pull out and go home, doesn't mean I agree. But I don't believe the war was necessary.

Even though I don't agree with the war, I still support our nation and the troops who are there 110% and I hope they all come home safely.

Claiming some one is in a party does you no good.
You've got it wrong.

Anyways, I think perhaps we started the war for something that didn't need to be. Pulling out now would only leave that nation in a state of turmoil, which would lead to far worse that what is happening now.

Let's just say this, you say pull out the troops. So we pull them out, and you say, leave them to their business.
What if their business is a genocide? Doesn't human nature dictate that we need to help these oppressed people?
I'm sorry. I just think that pulling out will cause more trouble for others, and is only to satisfy the selfish needs of those Americans whom cannot think for themselves and rely on politics to tell them what will happen and what's going on.

Think for yourself. Dictators and prejudice led to things such as the Holocaust and the African genocide with Tusi and Hotu (please excuse my spelling, I do not know how those are spelled.)

I agree with everyone. I hate the war. It was started on one families vendetta to fix the mistake that the family made. We put him in power gave him his guns and money and backed him. That was our mistake. But we had no better solutions at the time. I hate the war because we are losing so many men and women who do not need to be there. So many little kids who will not know their mom or there dad. So many families left incomplete because there life's were cut short. War should have been the LAST thing to be thought about. and we should have went in for the true reason. But I support our troops 100000000%. I wish them all well and hope as many come home safe as can possibly come home. I treat them all with respect, not just because they went over seas and killed people and help a nation of people who are oppressed and have to live in fear.

I respect them because before many come home they will have seen a friend die in front of them. See little kids kill themselves because of how they were raised. They give up seeing their loved ones born, and die, graduate, get married all so people like us can discuse these problems. And so people who cannot open their eyes disrespect them.

If we just up and leave i do agree that there will be more trouble there then there is now. But give our troops a dead line. Set up a program for them to teach to help them learn to protect themselves from other people like sadon(don't know if i spelled that right). Teach them that with hard work from everyone that the world one day could not look down on them and say just nuke them and take over the oil fields. well that my rant and rave about that subject. Sorry i went a little overboard on it. razz

unfortunately, there will ALWAYS be war. humanity has been killing each other for thousands of years. five years of diplomacy from a roomful of guys who hate each other (ie, the United Nations) will not change that. Did you know that in the first war alliance, they tried to outlaw war? make it illegal? heh, or what? you'll invade us? oh, that solved a lot!!

I have said it a thousand times, I believe the American soldier, or any soldier, is above the average person in this sense: they are willing to die for an idea, an ideal, and a nation that may or may not like them at all.

I will unfortunately not be joining military, as my stature and frame are too small for the needed labor of infantry, and i dunno, i have this small obedience issue, and i have so much more to offer the world than five months of battle, during which it's entirely plausible that I'd die.

Perhaps i could be in R&D (research and development) and i could create new and ingenious ways to protect our troops, or make war more impersonal and less endangering to our troops.

I have a new art idea in mind, and i think it's one that hits home on this subject... if i ever start it, it will be a couple of months in the making. wish me luck, i hope to do the military proud.

peace. (ha, that's a joke. get it?)

There are more than American troops there, there are UN troops and Canadian troops as well as a few other countries if I'm not mistaken. The US may have retaliated first but they have the support and respect of other nations worldwide. I know that i don't agree with war but the bravery of those willing to go without knowing they'll come back have more courage than a lot of people. Most people won't even help someone on the street let alone protect a country. I salute and pray for all those overseas, as well as my Uncle Dave who is currently in Iraq and is a Canadian troop. Also all the online friends i have that have enlisted to head out to Iraq and are now overseas.

GAH.
I tire of politics.
My mind is made up, whether we like the war or not, it's happening.
So we all might as well get over it.

I have had many family members in a war and now is no different. i don't like the fact that our soldiers are fighting a conflict that couln't have been avoided, but we should have been out by now.
