Red because of passion/ love
winding because its complicated

Vampire Alice I think it's a symbol that Bella will get a hair cut. Why? Because ribbons are sometimes worn in hair, and since it's frayed, it has no more use, so Bella cuts her hair.

That cover for me was totally unexpected. o__o;
I know the tear is significant though, and I think it has to do with a relationship.. and I'm thinking it's Jacob and Bella's relationship. It's basically about to break. ;-;
I'm just glad that the cover is the same brilliant color against a black background. If it wasn't, that'd throw me off a little bit o__O

Alright, first of all, everyone is saying, 'oh, that's not the real cover', and 'oh, it probably doesn't have anything to do with it'.
Well, guess what people, it is the real cover and it DOES have a lot to do with the story. Twilight Lexicon Eclipse cover!! Posted: March 9, 2007 Comments: 115 So we thought we would have to wait until May to see the cover, but Barnes and Noble has gone and put it up at their site along with some info on the content of the book. Be warned that the image is REALLY crappy, so use your imagination for what it should look like all glossy and clean and pretty. stepheniemeyer.com I'd add the cover for Eclipse (book three in the Twilight series), but it gives too much away. Sorry. So you see, it has A LOT to do with the story.
I believe the ribbon signifies Bella, being torn between Jacob and Edward.

I also think that the tear in the ribbon has to do with Jacob and Bella's relationship - like something terrible is going to happen to them. Do you remember what Stephenie said? I specifically remember her saying something along the lines of, to people who said they disliked Jacob right to her face, "Well, we'll see what you think about Jacob after the third book." T_____T I hope nothing terrible happens to him!
