"I was near a rather shallow stream, though there is a good fishing spot nearby," she replied, looking back in the direction she'd come from, "It would be the quickest way to get you something to eat." Without much hesitation otherwise, she turned back and walked towards the stream. She took a moment to look it up and down, and then turned in a direction she knew was most likely to have food available to them.

-The white and brown leopard fell in line a step or two behind the leopardess, following dutifully, as his eye glanced outward. Watching the stream appear, before lifting up to the canopy.

Hmmm.. maybe today he'd leave through the canopy? He'd never done it before.. and despite the challenge it'd probably be, trying to get through the twisted and tangled braches.. he imagined the sight of emerging from the top. To peek out from the see of green to be offered up into the light once more.

Drifting back to more pertainant thoughts he glanced lightly at her backend. Watching the slender leopardess move with a soft sway, her tail and rear shifting with each step in a tempting fashion. Oh how he had to try to bite back comments. To keep from nipping at that tail, or joining her in that soft swaying dance. But somehow he managed, and silently, waited for them to reach the place she spoke of.-

Based on Groka's question about her knowledge of the lands and the fact he was following her instead of walking with her, Mleli could guess that he was either new to the Jungle or new to this part of it. That was too bad, in a way. The jungle could use more leopards, and it seemed to her that she'd found one who was not such a disappointment- at least not so far.

"You don't have to walk behind me," she commented sharply, though with more good humor than before. She glanced back toward him, just in time to catch the look he was giving her. It surprised her to see she was being watched so carefully, and the leopardess came to a stop- raising an eyebrow at him.

-Eyes lifting only when it became apparent she'd stopped, 'Groka' cast his eyes softly upward, coughing just a little.- "Sorry.. I was in my own little world. I guess I'm a little tired too."

-Stepping up and around, so that he stood almost side by side, he gave his tail a soft swish, and his head a bit of a nod.- "But I can't catch anything if I'm dazing off. And it wouldn't be fair to make you do all the work."

Mleli couldn't help but roll her eyes a bit at his being in a bit of a daze. It only helped his story that he was out hunting and was incredibly hungry to say that he was tired and dazed. It was one believable symptom of hunger, quite luckily (for Lim, at least.)

"That will be remedied when we catch some fish," she said simply, turning back to the water. They were in a fairly good spot for fishing, she guessed, "I said I would help, and if you can't catch something then I will. You just don't scare away the fish." With that, she walked quietly to the water's edge.

-He felt like a child being scolded, subtlely but visually cringing just a little at the seeming repremand and eye roll. But he didn't let it shake him for too long, pulling forward to sit at the water's edge, making sure his shadow didn't filter into the water and alert the fish. Surely she couldn't like a loser like this?

Well.. hopefully once he got some 'food in his belly' he'd be able to think more clearly. Paw lifting gently to hang in wait, he watched the fish swim to and fro, waiting for one to get close enough to strike.- "I won't scare them. Cautiousness is a virtue."

Whatever strange sympathy she had for the hungry was clearly playing some part here, not to mention if fed her ego to help those who could not do something themselves. Groka had not done anything wrong in the short time they'd been together, and that was good enough for Mleli right now. Hopefully he wouldn't confess an affection for lions, or a dislike for the Jungle, or something else she might feel so inclined to argue about.

She stood a couple feet away from Groka by the water, carefully watching the fish move. Speaking too loudly now might take them backward instead of forward. She too waited for the perfect moment, for the perfect fish- if you were going to do something, you might as well do it well, or best.

-Tail swaying silently behind him, he watched as a small fish began to rise upwards towards the top of the water, his paw inching downward slowly in recourse.

And as the little fishes lips touched the surface to try and snag the small waterbug, 'Groka's paw snapped downward, swatting the fish out of the water. It wasn't the most graceful of catches, in fact the fish flew to the grasses, and began to flop around, the 'leopard' hopping over to try and catch and pin the tiny creature. But as he finally landed a paw on it hard enough, it became a catch after all, and he swayed his tail proudly, beaming over the simple accomplishment.-

Mleli's attempt was not so simple, but soon a fish she deemed worth catching appeared and she performed a similar move that got it out of the water- but not far from the edge. Acting quickly, just before it could flop back into the water, the leopardess extended her claws and went to catch it. It was very near a miss, but she prevented the escape, however awkwardly.

A success was a success. At least Groka seemed occupied with his own fish. That noted, she picked up her fish and walked over to the grass to hand over the fish- she had no need of it herself.

"Easier than most hunting," she commented, taking a seat.

"Far less likely you'll get hurt too." -He mused, grinning widely as he looked between the two fish. His was thankfully small, and hers a nice decent size. He should be alright eating them.

Settling to lay across the grass, he waited for a moment to see if she would join him, before lightly he took hold of her fish, tearing at the fresh and cool flesh.- "Thank you again. Not everyone would waste their time on a stranger. I'm glad to see this place is so friendly." -His tail swayed as he took another bite.-

Mleli curled her tail around her feet, feeling quite relaxed- and thus considerably better than she had been lately. Though the stranger had done nothing more than offer a distraction, it seemed to have a good effect on the leopardess. Mleli did not put much thought to it, though, and that was a beauty of it. She did not have to waste energy thinking.

"I would not let another go hungry, and I wasn't doing anything else. Are you new to the Jungle, or just around here?" she asked curiously, making small talk was not something she did too often. She conveniently left out the fact she was most likely to help a leopard, and least likely to help a lion- it didn't really matter.

-His chocolate ears twitched softly when she spoke, taking in each word despite the fact that his eyes kept wandering from the fish to the leopardess. As he made certain to eat at a quick pace, instead of picking at it like he usually did. In fact he was to the point of picking clean the bones by the time he finally answered, laughing just a little.-

"New to the area. I lived more towards the outskirts before. But I figured I was a little old to be living in the same territory as my parents. Ecspecially considering the new brood they've had recently."

-Casting his gaze outward as he chewed, admiring the jungle for a moment, he added lightly.- "I must say I like the inner jungle more then the outskirts."

"The inner Jungle is much more beautiful than what lies beyond some of the borders," she commented. Mleli had never left the Jungle, but she had seen the outskirts and the distant view of what lay beyond- the desert was one of them she knew of quite well. "Do you suppose you'll be staying here?"

More small talk, and Mleli was surprised to find it was not so bad. With a slight stretch, she lay down on the grass more comfortably since it seemed they would be able to carry on a pleasant conversation.

-Streching out comfortably, he slide the bones of her fish delicately aside, silently offering some of his smaller fish to her once more out of politeness. Her attitude calmed him softly, letting him fall more comfortably into his game, and each lie was becoming easier. Filtering to his mind almost immediately.-

"I figured that after I ate I could try and hunt out someplace to stay. I quite like it here. Hopefully there are some open trees in the territory? And not too many aggressive indivduals.. I like calm and peaceful."

Mleli was not hungry, and made no move to accept the offer of fish. She was quite comfortable now, and calmer than she'd been without Kifuno around in awhile. There was just no point always being grouchy around Kifuno, they shared a home after all.

"It depends on how far you go, as far as I know I am the only leopard living in this small area of the jungle," she answered, leaving out that she was one of the aggressive individuals and instead focussing on those she happened to know that were living nearby, "There are some rather unpleasant individuals that don't live that far away, however. I wouldn't recommend going too far that way-" Mleli nodded off in the direction she'd gone when she'd run into Tego.
