Yohji was once a detective, along with his partner Asuka. They were both investigating the deaths of these girls, which lead them to a mysterious corporation called "Riotto" (Riot). While exploring Riotto, however, they were attacked by guards, and Yohji was injured during their escape. The two decided to split up, but the guards caught Asuka and killed her while Yohji looked on. This may have been the reason why Yohji joined Weiss, but that is still somewhat unclear. Later, he truly believed that one of the group known as "Schrient", Neu, was Asuka somehow brought back to life...

Aya's history was a mystery for the first half of the series, for his past and connection to Takatori Reiji was revealed very slowly throughout that time. He joined Weiss for revenge- revenge for his murdered family, and his sister Aya, who remained in a coma after a car accident. His parents were bankers that may have known too much about Takatori Reiji's crimes, so he used them as a scapegoat and had them killed in a seeming suicide while Ran and Aya were away. The kids returned just in time to see their house explode, and the man responsible for it trying to escape... However, Ran and Aya were witnesses, so Takatori ordered his driver to run them over. Aya was badly injured, and fell into a coma, but Ran was saved by a mysterious man, who turned out to be Takatori Reiji's brother, Takatori Shuuichi, that convinced Takatori to leave. Aya was in a deep coma, and it seemed that she would never stir... so Ran decided to get revenge upon those who committed these crimes, and took his sister's name as a reminder during his quest for vengeance.

Veshango is the representation of the Gypsy within me. He manifested after I found out I was a Gypsy, and after a Gypsy Guild from the Renaissance Faire took me in and gave me my Gypsy name which of course is….Veshango.
He had quite the troubled past, spanning from his father being slaughtered while he was walking down the street when Veshango was three, and his mother passing at age nine. He didn’t get a break, at age eight, the Vampire within him awakened and he started noticing he was different from the other kids, so of course he got picked on. After his mother passed and a year of ridicule, he had nothing left so he began to wander. He met a band of Gypsies who took him in and taught him their ways and how to survive on his own. He took that knowledge and has been living a nomadic lifestyle ever since.
