Laini opened her mouth to say she didn't see what was so bad with meeting a distant relative but his tiny speech finished, it closed itself without uttering a word. This must be that Hisani girl he mentioned before. The guy must've really cared for her to bring her back up. Laini didn't know what it was like to love or care for someone so she could not sympathize but she was not blind enough to it to take what would probably be a stab at him.
"Hmmm, well, nope complete strangers even through family lines - I'm sure." she said with a smile. "And before I forget, thanks for sharing your meal with me." Cheerful and slightly oblivious to the matter seemed like the way to go.

" T'was nothing. It was pleasant to have your company once again and kind of you to help me carry the meal here."
He bobbed his head as an after thought, mind in a whirl with new thoughts and feelings about his depression. Muroki felt less like snapping at everyone for once and didn't have to hold back any comments. It was nice not to be paranoid nor angry. He'd been hurt but it wasn't everything.
Hell, he'd made a new friend who had nothing to do with Hisani in anyway but sharing a common name with goldie's mother! And he had a pride. And...
"Thankyou Laini."

"What're friends for?" she replied. It sort of slipped out, a cliche line that he probably wouldn't appreciate for all the overkill in usage it went through. Although she didn't know if they could be considered such, she didn't feel like taking it back ...unless he refused such a term. She supposed it was his way of saying goodbye. The way she interpretted his tone said that he was saying goodbye and thus she made the motions to go.
As she began to pick her way through the savanna, a thought occured to her. She stopped and looked over her shoulder. "By the way, what's this pride of your's like? You know, the one you recently joined."

"Friendly and interesting, with a touch of mystique~"
Muroki had padded casually after her. Friends - and yes, she'd be considered as such now for all she'd said and done - don't leave without a proper goodbye. Even if he was vaugely distracted by the urge to sing and dance while a meerkat sang about how the past was in the past. Funny what random thoughts come to you when you realise your heart's bruised but not utterly broken.
"You should visit sometime..."

Finding him closer to her than she had expected surprised her a bit but she hid that quickly as she did with most of her "weak" emotions. She instinctively closed the distance to what it had been before when they had been conversing. "Yes, that sounds like it'd be interesting." She had never seen a pride and knew nothing about any of them - well, except for a smidget of her mother's pride - but that was all. She had often used the philosophy that if she hadn't been born into one, she obviously didn't need it so she had no clue why she was going against it. That would be, of course, if she had remembered her philosophy at the moment at all.

"I look forward to your visit, then. Take care Laini." Muroki offered another sweet smile and a dip of his head and started back towards the jungle. He'd head into the hidden pridelands and think things through.

Alrightie then. She dipped her head in the form of a nod, assuming that meant such an event would happen at a later date if not at a much later one. She didn't think of any implications that could happen or frankly too much at all other than getting a glimpse at what life in a pride would be like. "You too," she called after him realizing his back certainly couldn't tell his front that she had nodded. Then she turned her face into that lovely breeze and set off at a leisurely pace.
