((It requires much nudging and guidance from you, the creator, to keep this going. The same for all RPs. Give it a direction and it'll flow.
I don't think so many of us would have joined with such strong characters if the plot was as bad as you seem to think it might be.))

((Yeah, it also is partly my fault, I like the plot and think it has potential, I wouldn’t join a plot I didn’t like (That’s a one way street, just because I didn’t join someone’s RP doesn’t mean I didn’t like the plot). I should have written this sooner...))
“My proper title would be Lady or Commander Angelis, however you may call me what you will. For not even my father holds the Great Dragon to call him by his title.” Mia gave a slight smile at this point “and it has little to do with the fact that he could make a mourning meal out of my father should the thought strike his fancy. However thou shall pay me as little regard as you would thy lance or thy shield, for that is what I shall be for you.” The Pegasus made a noise and Mia turned to look at it. She gave him a ‘how dare you’ look and then sighed and turned back to the source keeper. “If it pleases you, Kumori has informed me that he would like to be addressed as such. I beg your forgiveness and patience with my prideful steed, for he is not called anything else.” Mia herself was slightly torn; she had to choice between going with what was considered proper, and what the Source Keeper wished. She had grown up being taught, no it was more like it was chiseled into her very character, that when you met one of a higher station that you showed the utmost honor and respect towards that person. Granted she showed respect towards all people, but it was a different kind of respect that she was thinking of, and it was so ingrained into her personality that while she may feel bad about the Source Keepers protests, she probably couldn’t stop if she wanted to. The Source Keeper was ‘Miss Gale’ to her now, and that was all there was to it.

(( Well, I'm new to text RPing, and I wasn't really sure if my plot was suitable. Thanks, though. I appreciate the confidence booster. And it's nice to hear from you guys again. ))
Irianna shakes her head and gives a chuckle of amusement. "Alright then, so the two of you are Commander Angelis and Kumori. Now that that mess is sorted out..."
The Sky Maiden puts her hands on her hips and says, "For tonight, we will rest. I expect the two Mer Kin will be sleeping in the ocean shallows. The rest of us will be sleeping in the shelter of the trees. I'll take watch tonight, but after that we may want to take two or three shifts for night watch. The order of nightly shifts can be made on our way through Arthon tomorrow. And we leave at first light."
That said, Irianna turns and makes for the trees. Half way there, the young Sky Maiden opens her wings and flaps her way into a towering evergreen. From that point, the winged woman is clearly visible, but so are any approaching creatures or people.

Merdick nodded reassuredly at the last of the Source Keeper's words. He was grateful for her respect of his heritage. It was to be expected of someone of Arianna Gale's status, but he still was grateful. She was one of the few genuinely courteous people that existed in the world. Simple things like that were becoming more and more apparent to Merdick as the years passed. It seemed everything began to focus on his aging. His children wanting to pick up the reins, his soldiers wanting to help him out, and his superiors offering him more support than usual. He disliked their favoritism; Merdick was just as strong and able as he was ten or fifteen years ago. Aging had not slowed him one bit, and he did not plan on letting it affect him for many years to come.
Now was the time for sleep, though. He could ponder the matter in more detail while he occupied the seas with his scaley cousins. "Then I shall retire as well. Good night all." With a respectful bow of his head, he retreated into the ocean and disappeared beneath the steadily growing tide. After a short distance, he let the rip tide continued to carry him out toward the shelf, the location where the slope of the sandy bottom was almost a perfectly vertical drop. It was at the bottom there that he made his resting place among the bushy plants.

Looking down from the towering pine, Irianna peers into the dark of the surrounding trees. The Sky Maiden's eyes are sharp. Even on a moonless and starless night, she can spy a fox or wolf slinking through a forest. Those kinds of threats are absent on this night. Also absent are any bears, coyotes, or one of the few demons that occasionally prowl the forests of Arthon.
For a brief time, Irianna believes the small group to be alone on the borders of Arthon. Iridescent violet eyes search the darkness out of habit, not out of the expectation of finding a hidden enemy. About half an hour after the last of the sun's light had died away, though, a small movement catches the Sky Maiden's eye. Several trees away, nearly invisible in the dark of the forest, is what the Source Keeper guesses is a man or woman standing near the cover of a thick pine.
At first, she is torn between alerting her four companions or simply keeping an eye on the stranger. Irianna knows without even using a stray wind to search out any other presences that the figure is alone. More people would make too much noise to be missed by anyone. Maybe the lone figure is another recipient of the Source Keeper's summoning wind? Or maybe they are a thief or murderer?
In the end, Irianna simply observes the lone figure. If they are a potential ally, then they will show up when they feel their presence is necessary. If they are a foe, then they will have formiddable forces with which to contend.

(( Anybody mind if I skip this ahead to the next morning? I'll delete this post if someone objects. If no one objects, then just ignore this comment. ))
Morning finds Irianna sore and stiff from keeping up her lofty and uncomfortable post. Very carefully, the Sky Maiden stands on the sturdy pine branch. White wings spread for balance as the young woman stretches her arms, back, and legs. Irianna's travel bag is suspended from a small branch and her halberd balanced between two branches. She reaches up to grab both. The travel bag is slung over one shoulder while the halberd is balanced in her right hand. Before leaping from the pine boughs, Irianna searches the surrounding trees for any sign of last night's stranger. Nothing turns up. Irianna suspects that the person is hidden behind one of the evergreens, or happened to slip away without alerting the Sky Maiden. Not worrying either way, Irianna dives from the tree and glides to the sands of the White Coast.
Irianna opens her bag, fishes out a small bread roll, and enjoys a cold breakfast as she waits on her companions. She doesn't expect them to be up very soon. The eastern sky is barely tinged with gray and the world still cloaked in night's shadows.

((I am soooooooooooooo sorry. My internet crashed and I was just able to get on last night. I swear, if this happens again I'll just ignore the rules of the computer lab and get on there. I'll try my best to catch up.))
Little puffs of cotton candy floated along the orange-cream sky, bits of lavender and red flaring briefly on the edges of the clouds as the sun rose on the White Coast. The sun was coming up in a short blaze of glory before tracing its path across the robin's-egg sky.
Jaden had retired to the shallows as Merdick had, choosing however to sleep in the deeper shoals, the cresting waves rocking him gently. The glittering surface of teal soon broke, however, as the child came rocketing once more through foam as he had the day before.
"Mornin', lady," he grinned, a flopping, gleaming fish held firmly between his teeth. The address was not that of Mia's quandary, but the same as all children's greetings. Lady, mister, teacher, a generalization of partial familiarity. He already knew that he liked Irianna; both were free spirits and her outgoing go-get-em-ness was appealing to a prodigy of his short life. The boy also felt a kinship toward Merdick, more than just of countryman to countryman. He vividly felt the paternal aura all children can sense and was drawn to the well-weathered soldier. Xia, as well, held some interest for the hyperactive boy, like a soothing, rippling stream that could either excite or calm on a whim. Mia, however, was a character to Jaden and he vowed to cure her of her stuffy demeanor by whatever childish means necessary.
"Want some?" Jaden held out the fish, now the half-eaten remains of his breakfast.
Xia was awake by now as well, fiddling with the slightly withered rose petals from her previous arrival. Her whip whistled softly into the trees by which she had slept, pulling down a bunch of plump, juicy fruit. She solemnly bit into one before striding through the white sands to Irianna's side and handing her one as well.
"I saw the stranger as well. I do not believe she was hostile, Irianna."
Deep brown eyes stared through her white bangs at the shoaling waves, her free hand idly brushing grains of white and tan from her skirt.

(( Welcome back! Don't you hate it when the net crashes? Anyway, don't worry about it. Not much has happened, as you can tell. Now that you're back, though, things can really pick up. ))
The Source Keeper is still seated on the sands. When she notices Jaden walking up, the Sky Maiden gives the Mer Kin boy a friendly greeting and a small smile. But when the boy offers Irianna a part of his raw catch, Irianna feels her cold breakfast of bread turning in her stomach. Instead of showing her distaste, the Sky Maiden chooses a more polite rejection of the meal. She smiles and shakes her head, saying as she does, "Thanks for the consideration, but I've already eaten. I brought some rations with me from home." She pats her worn travel bag for emphasis.
Then Xia is handing the young woman a fruit. Irianna accepts this with a grateful smile and slips it into her bag for later. There will be plenty of food to buy in towns or find in the woods, but she loves the fruits that grow along the White Coast.
Xia says something and Irianna nods in agreement. "I think you're right. If they had been hostile, they would have tried to get closer under the cover of darkness and try something. Of course, there's also the possibility that they noticed me watching and got discouraged." A sigh escapes the young woman's lips. "If they are friendly, though, I wish they would join us. This group is very capable, but even one more ally could make a world of difference."
The wind picks up, tossing white sand into the air. Irianna moves her wing to block her face from the airborn debris. Violet eyes stray to the lightening sky. "We had better get going. As soon as Merdick, Mia, and Kumori are up, we'll be gone."

(( heart Yeay, I am loved! heart ))
Xia nodded as well, watching as Jaden shrugged his shoulders and continued to eat upon the fish.
"Another ally would be useful, yes, especially one who seems so familiar with the surroundings as to escape even your penetrating gaze."
Her own greyish wings fluttered in the breeze, Jaden idly tossing rocks at the sea, easily skipping them across the surface despite the bounding waves.
"One for the fish, and one for the sea, and one for sweet Aquanos that ne'er shall leave me..."
He was singing gently under his breath, an Aquanese nursury song his brothers would chant as they struck blow after blow in their training.
"Two for the waves, and two for the shore, and two for the home I'll love forever more..."

Merdick emerged in the morning to the sound of his homeland's most cherished children's rhyme, discussion of an outsider, and the sight of the sun bordering the horizon. All was as it should be, it seemed. He stretched himself, rolled his shoulders, and let his gaze roam among the group. As always, he was reminded of his veteran status among them. He was perhaps twice the age of the eldest member after himself. It did not build his ego, however; rather, it reinforced his determination to remain a strong, healthy, and important member of the troup. For his family, and for his past, and for himself.
Although hunger had touched upon his senses before going to bed, Merdick no longer felt a need to eat. If it would interrupt their voyage, he would be sure to wait. A little fasting wouldn't hurt. "How close are we to leaving?" he asked Irianna once he was nearby. He was eager to get a move-on.
The night for Nalla had been an inquisitive one. She had spent the whole night, aside from the last three hours or so, scouting the Source Keeper's crew. Their armaments, gear, skills, talents, and overall behavior. She had come across quite a load. They were all obviously quite skilled in their respective areas. A flying knight, a seasoned warrior of Aquanos, the genius boy tactician, the personal assistant or close friend of the Source Keeper (she couldn't seem to figure out which), and the Source Keeper herself. The safest place on this measly little collection of dirt would most certainly be in their presence. Her only problem would be making sure that the knight did not pick up on her. If he did, it was quite likely he would turn her in.
So, with a deep sigh, she made her way from the woods toward the group with as much courage she could muster. Most of the courage was needed to avoid the pegasus knight's gaze, and to meet it evenly should that moment ever arise. With an air of false confidence, Nalla strode up to the Source Keeper. She paused then, having failed to plan what exactly she would say. She gave a hesitant bow of her head. "I would like to join you on your quest," she said. Instantly, she was bothered by how meek her voice sounded. No time to worry about that, though. She had to keep her focus on Irianna lest she let her gaze wander to the pegasus knight.

Mia had consider protesting letting the source keeper take the entire watch, but the source keeper seemed to be slightly annoyed with her already with her formalities. There should be no real harm in letting her do as she wished, and Kumori could use a good night’s rest. She found a small flat piece of ground near the tree the source keeper perched in, and laid out a large red blanket. While they looked like winged horses Pegasi had slight variations besides their wings and intelligence, one of them became apparent when Kumori laid down on one end of the blanket. They technically could sleep standing like a normal horse, or even in mid-flight should the need arise, but they were decreasingly less restful, the last one was barley better then no sleep at all. Mia used the rest of the blanket and used Kumori as her pillow.
Apparently Kumori was not the only one who needed rest, Mia was embarrassed that she, a trained solider was among the last to awaken. She was however, able to get ready incredibly quickly once her eyes were open. She saw another member approach the source keeper and observed her carefully. She never did meet the gaze of the Heaven Knight, but then some people just were not comfortable around military types. Mia was going to be sure to keep an eye on the entire group, lest she get involved with something less then moral.

Xia looked over at Nalla, that same sad gaze she had turned upon the others.
"So you are the one from the trees," she said simply. Her voice held no sign of ill will, indeed it seemed almost to be stating her acceptance already. One never knew what was going on in Xia's mind, but for now she did not appear worried about the strange manner of Nalla's coming.
"There was someone in the trees?" Jaden cried. He hadn't noticed anything and was rather taken aback that he had missed an opportunity to show off. The Mer Kin lad leapt towards the young lady and peered up into her face.
"Why didn't you show up earlier? Why were you in the trees? Who are you? Where did you come from? What makes you think she'll-?"
Jaden had puffed out his chest, firing off his questions loudly as if he had suddenly assumed command from Irianna. Xia put a hand on his head heavily, letting her long, smudged fingers mingle with his teal bangs. The pressure served as her silent message, a message the boy got well. He fell silent as well but continued to gaze questioningly at the woman.

Irianna looks up at Merdick and smiles. "We should be leaving pretty soon. Just waiting on Mia to get up and then--"
Something in the distance snaps. Irianna tilts her head to one side in confusion and turns away from the Mer Kin. She sees Mia and Kumori awakening. She also sees someone, a stranger, walking out of the trees and making a bee line for the Source Keeper. In moments, the woman is standing before Irianna, who stands to greet her. Jaden is immediately upon the woman, firing off question after question, after her request to join the group. This gives Irianna time to look her over. The strange woman's voice had been meek, and she seemed to avoid looking at Mia and Kumori. Irianna can only imagine that she is a fugitive of Arthon.
Well, help does come from questionable places. And one often does what they must to survive. I can only hope that she is a rogue by necessity and not choice.
Once Xia settles Jaden down, Irianna gives the woman her brightest smile. "The more the merrier, I always say. I suppose you know me, but are you familiar with my friends here? And my I ask for your name?"

"You'd imagine with all his wisdom, master would have put some sort of enchantment on the steps to make this trip a little easier, after all, increased speed could only help to quicken his research." Jaelan continued walking up the long flight of stone steps, the sound of his sandals clapping against the rock, reverberating through the tower. After another dozen or so steps, Jaelan stared at the glass bowl on the top of the large pile of books he was carrying, and said, "You know, they could have given me a lighter animal... well I suppose I could improve on my linguistics when it comes with you fish, but a catfish isn't exactly the smallest of your kind." At this the large grey fish raised his mouth above the top of the water, while keeping his gills submerged and said, "Look Jaelan, the master gave you the chore of carrying me up these steps for the same reason he makes you carry all those books, it builds character, and reduces your dependency of magic, and as for my weight, I assure you I am a healthy sized catfish and nothing more!" This being said, the fish dove back into the tank, but not before splashing Jaelan with a face full of water.
In truth, Jaelan's master didn't expect carrying such large amounts to build character, or decrease dependency on magic. He actually did it because he found the struggle of all his apprentices highly amusing. One of the only things he found more entertaining was berating his students if they somehow slipped and dropped whatever they were carrying while climbing the large flight of stairs leading up to his study. It was the day before that the old wizard Halleran had heard the message from the source keeper, but he didn't of think of actually reacting till early in the morning. The reason for this being that he had recently been planning to give a similar warning to the people of the three continents, the differences being his warning would simply be for amusement, and the meeting place would be some absurd location like in the center of a bog. However amusement aside, the old wizard realized that it would be in his best interest if the continents were to be spared their horrible fate of collision with the enormous Aerasian continent. He had made the decision that he would send his prized apprentice to go aid the source keeper on her quest, while at the same time preparing his tower for quick relocation to a much more dry, less in danger of being crushed by a falling landmass, location. He figured the chances would be somewhere down the middle, so best to be prepared for either eventuality.
It took a half hour for Jaelan to finally reach the top of the steps, and enter his master's study. Setting the books down in the corner of the room, and the glass bowl on one of the nearby shelves, Jaelan approached Halleran's desk before saying, "You wanted to see me master?" The old man, who had been facing the other way, slowly and dramatically turned to face his student, "Ah Jaelan, have a seat.... or don't.... this won't take long, will you grab that brown bag of the top of the shelf... it's a little high, might want to use your staff." As Jaelan walked across the room, his master continued, "Chances are you heard the call to arms by the Source Keeper? Course you have, was a bit hard to not hear it.... anyway, I decided to aid the source keeper in her quest, do you think that’s a good idea? Not quite sure myself, after all, we would be safe here in the tower, what I'm worried about is the tea."
Jaelan had given up a long time ago on trying to correct his master in matters of right and wrong, not only was he set in his beliefs, but he also usually had a large amount of logic behind his arguments. Reaching with his staff to the highest shelf, Jaelan smiled as the end of the staff slowly morphed into a wooden hand which grabbed hold of the bag. As he did this, his master continued, "Of course, I feel as if this experience would be wasted on me, so I've decided to send.... a representative if you will.... oh, and while your up, open the window will you?" With a nod, Jaelan walked over to the window and opened it, turning to face his master, Jaelan's expression changed from slight boredom to shock as he saw his master had his staff pointed straight at Jaelan's chest.
"Master!? What are you doing?!" Jaelan panicked slightly, the old wizard had tried experimental flight spells on his apprentices before with less then spectacular results. Halleran smiled slightly before saying, "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll do fine, remember to show respect, and bring that staff back in one piece." This being said, a sharp blast of strong air fired out of Halleran's staff and into Jaelan's chest, sending him soaring out the window.
Jaelan couldn't recall how long he was falling, it seemed like days, but in reality it wasn't long before he could see a vast amount of sand and water below him. Quickly reacting, Jaelan began chanting, and as he did, his descent was quickly slowed by a sudden powerful updraft. Eventually, Jaelan landed softly and the sand, he couldn't hear it before because of the wind, but Jaelan could distinctly hear voices, and turning to his left, he saw a small group of people who were seemingly conversing with a nearby tree. Jaelan was slightly cautious at first, but once he saw that the group contained sky children, Jaelan decided to approach, maybe he could learn from their conversation if one of them was the Source Keeper.
Usually he would be courteous and wait for them to be done speaking with whoever it was they were speaking with, whether it be chipmunk or tree, however this was not quite a usual occasion. Coughing loud enough for the small group to hear him, Jaelan said quite plainly, and with very little expression on his monkey like face, "Excuse me, but would one of you happen to be the source keeper, and if not, have you seen her?"
