As the wave shot at Lee he spun around and fell into a hole he had just bended. As the wave passed over the hole closed and a few seconds later his hand shot out of the ground and grabbed Kou's ankle. He was attempting to drag her down even if it was just a little.

Kou was being pulled down into the hole, her hands desperately clinging to the edge. She tried to will the earth to cover her whole arm but only managed to get her fingers. With her other foot, she kicked the wall of the hole, sending sand down towards Lee. She hoped that it would distract him long enough for her to manage to break free from his grab and pull herself back up.

The sand that Kou was kicking down started to get in Lee's eyes so he let her go and then closed the hole. While he was under he he cleaned out his eyes then went back to his fight. He touched the walls around him and felt where she was and then moved positions. A minute later he popped out of the ground behind Kou and slammed into her back.

The only thing Kou could do was to make a soft pile of Earth in front of her as she fell, softening her fall just a little bit. She picked herself up from the ground and spat out some dirt. She took a deep breath went back to the basic stance.

As Kou was getting to her feet and into her stance Lee formed three small stones that were about the exact size of golf balls and shot them at Kou. And as the flew at her he ran right behind them so she would notice him more then the stones.

After a few moves, Kou realized that Lee had a habbit of distracting his opponent so that he can attack from behind. She raised another pack of earth to block the rocks, took one step to the side then with a wave of an arm, shot the rock behind her. She faced Lee formed five marble-sized stones and shot them towards him.

Lee stopped dead in his track and purposely fell backwards. However as he was falling a pebble scratched his cheek. But it wasn't a big deal. When he hit the ground he sunk in and disappeared. And when he cam up actually came up in front of Kou to head butted her instead of from behind.

Kou fell down on the ground, and instead of getting up, hooked Lee's foot with her leg to trip him. She stood up and raised another pack of earth to drop on top of Lee. She drop kicked the rock to increase its impact, ran back a few steps, rasied a pack of earth and kicked it forward. She ran back again, raised a pack of earth, kicked. She repeated it until she had managed to send out 6 rocks, since she had already ran into a wall. She coughed heavilly, the last few moves took a lot of her stamina. She sat down with her back against the wall, her legs crossed together and her palms placed firmly on the ground.

Lee spun himself again and sunk into the ground to dodge the rocks that flew through the air. Once they had passed he shot out of the hole and charged her. But before he attack he stopped and sat down. "Your too tired to continued so we'll rest for now." Lee spoke.

"Wait," Kou said, getting back up on her feet. "Let me try out one thing first." She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and shifted back to her stance. She clenched her fist and stomped, creating an earthen boot on her left foot. She stomped with her right foot, creating another boot.
"I DID IT!!!" Kou screamed. "Yippee!" She tried to jump but unfortunately the boots were too heavy for her. That, and they were stuck to the ground. She slumped back to the ground. "I'm stuck," she said, laughing nervously. "I'm stuuuuccckkk~" she wailed. She moped around for five seconds, which was how long it took before the earthen boots disentegrated back to the ground.
"Well," she shrugged. "It lasted much longer than what I did earlier." She grinned and bowed at Lee. "Thanks for training with me. I never thought I'd have fun earth bending like this." She stepped back into the tavern to buy another drink before she went back to the city.

Lee nodded at Kou and then rose to his feet. "Perhaps we shall meet again someday." Lee replied and then left the oasis. He couldn't remember why he had came back to the great desert of Ba Sing Se but it didn't really matter anymore. He wanted to travel for a little while and broaden his horizons. He was setting out for one of the air temples.

Kou managed to hire another person to take her out of the desert. This time she made sure that nobody will steal her money again, she hid her money pouch in her shirt. Thankful to get out alive, Kou continued her travels.
(Exit Desert... time to get lost somewhere by the Uyz river)

Akira, a young man of the age of 16 arrived at the desert, he was finally going to get in some training with his bending. He has been holding it off since the death of his parents only one month before. "Mother, father. I promise you that this family will not fall before it can truely be reconized by the world. And to do that, I must master my bending and come out to the open." the boy said as he walked to a good area, where there was lots of boulders, rocks, and sand. "Lets get started." Akira said in a calm, raspy voice as he got into his earth-bending stance.
Akira started out slow and lightly tapped the ground, making all the tiny little pebbles and spinning them aroundhis body by flicking his wrist. He caused them to go faster until he flung his body weight in a circular movement and pushed his arm out, causing the pebbles to make tiny holes threw one of the boulders, making it look like it was a wheel of cheese.

As Akira turned the boulder into cheese he smiled and stomped the ground with much force, causing the boulder to fly into the air. He then punched the air, making it fly into the next boulder, and then the next. He did it until they were all reduced to dust and sand. As it did Akira fell to his knees, whipped out. "That does it for this place. Maybe that Uyz river place.." Akira said as he got up and walked toward the place
