At the sound of her tears Miles stopped.

"Prince Reggei...What would you say if I said I loved your sister." Miles had his back towards them both.

Let me know you need me is all I want He was wishing for Serah to say something to him, but was just buying time now.

How many times must show you a side of me I never show to see if you even care?

"I would say good, maybe you can get my sister to settle her unrestless nature, or well maybe not after all you met her here. I mean she always has been quite the ambitious and reckless. . ." He stops midsentence as Sarah hits him. "You see what I mean! She just hit me."

"No, no it is not you whom I want to harm, it is my own reputation that I wish to preserve, because my brother is not the most descrete of people." Sarah then looks at him straight in the eyes. "What do I want of you? What do I think of you? I think you are the most wonderful person I've ever met. You have seen me for me essentially seen me as me." Sarah says putting her hands at her chest. "You are the first person that has done that, I just want you to keep seeing me as me and not who I am to everyone else, I don't know if you can do that though, not if I tell you who everyone else sees me as."

He glared at her for a moment.

Then at her next words his heart stoped. His shoulders dropped. Then when her brother spoke there was no stopping it, he pined him to the wall with an eraged look in his eyes.

"You should NEVER mess with a person emotions. Do you even UNDERSTAND what it's like to love someone and have them love you back?" He yelled at him.

It was then he let him go.

"Forgive me. My tempter was easily set off...My mind still thinks Serah's indanger so my body reacts however the way-

He stoped talking as he found himself holding Serah.

Now how did that happen?

His body wasn't sure what it was doing anymore. He held her tight against him.

"Don't worry I won't hurt anyone, but something isn't right her Serah...I don't feel safe here." He was always right about his safty.

It was true. He was just waiting for that sound. That step that a person would that that didn't belong to anyone here. This was why his body reacted he subconschiously hear someone. His eyes scanned the hall. A person could jump out at anytime. Him mind remember what Serah said.

"I will see you for who you are and you know why? Because who you showed me, you aren't a fake, and nor should you hide yourself from your people. They have rights so should you. To have a life. To love anyone, to hate anyone, to yell for no reason if you have to. To cry in front of me." He told her.

His hand brushed away her tears and stayed on her face.

"I don't care who's in my way, but no matter what I'll be by your side, even if I have to slave for the rest of my life. That won't mater to me." He whispered.

That's when he heard it that sound. He's eyes went wide as he pushed Serah to the floor, and ran in front of her brother only to be shot. His muscles spazzed for a moment. He pulled out his revolver.

"RUN!" He shouted to them.

A possible assenation attempt? Miles thought.

Sarah screams as she gets pushed to the floor, but then seeing Miles spasm and her brother begin to drag him along, she abandons all other thoughs and does as Miles had said, running out the back, Reggie's the royal carriage was closest and would have to do, she helps get them both in before climbing her in herself, making a fuss over Miles as they ride towards the castle. "Why did you do a silly thing like that you might have gotten yourself killed." Sarah says moving the hair on his face gently.

"No, don't worry, this carriage is safe. I also understand about you pushing me, I just was not expecting it is all. Also don't worry, the healer should make you mostly better, her talent won't heal it completely, but it should ease most of the pain."

"Your honor....*cough* if you put that much trust in your guards and not the same trust as the man who just took a bullet for you..." That all Miles really wanted to say.

He turned to Serah.

"Don't worry about me already, I'll be fine. The gunmen could make me swiss cheese and I'd still be around till you told me how you felt about me...Again." Miles smiled. "Don't worry I'm fine." He said in a calm whisper.

He was lying he wasn't fine. He felt dizzy, but he did feel safe. Which ment harm was not close to him or Serah. He rested his head, and as it bobed back and forth his eyes became heavy.

If you fall alsleep you'll scare Serah, and you won't wake up.

With that thought Miles shifted himself to wake up. Only to cough into his hand. He knew there was blood when he coughed he felt it. There was a place the gunmen could have hit him to hurt him...The lungs...But he'd be dead by now.

He barely missed. That would be a direct heart shot if I didn't get in the way.

"You're dad...Will kill me if your brother tells him anything, and by you bringing me with you there will be a lot of questions." Miles stated.

"I did not feel any danger, so I kept my guards outside, therefore, it is my fault that you took taht bullet for that I am sorry. Now, let us get you to the healer, so that we can get you well." Reggie says moving out of the carriage and helping Miles out.
