"Ohhh," Sofi answered quietly. "Okay." So much for her dreams of being awesome. "I'm Sofi. I'm... just visiting."
She's my cousin, Luna added, giving Merlyn's hair an affectionate ruffle.
"Uh." June held up another plate. "... Burgers?"

Well, there went that idea. Faye pondered if that sense of familiarity was simply coming from Lethe, whom had been confirmed to be a Fa'e, or if it was all her imagination. Come to think of it, why was she here, anyways? The rabbit girl wasn't entirely one for conversing with the general populace, after all.
As she waited around for some answer or another, a black furred rabbit poked its head out of her messenger bag, sniffing the air curiously.

It was only after she had decimated half of her hamburger that Lethe finally realized that someone was going to have to keep taking charge of the conversation around here. Reluctantly setting her hamburger down on her plate, and the plate down on the grass, she hunted for a few minutes for her abandoned tennis racket and baseball. Finding both flattening nearby clump of grass, she picked them up and began tossing and catching the ball with one hand (occasionally dropping it and having to crouch down to pick it up again.)
"Does anybody like baseball?" She asked of her unmindful audience, twirling the tennis racket in her other before slinging it over her shoulder in what she imagined to be a very dramatic and sporty pose. "I've been practicing all day, I can almost hit it to the moon, see?"
And without waiting for anyone to even express any interest, she tossed the ball up into the air, took very quick and careful aim, and swiped at it with her tennis racket -- spiking it directly into poor Sofi.

And as the Keths watched in horror, there was a sickening THWACK as the baseball embedded itself into the back of Sofi's skull.
Literally.
"GHRKKLT" was all Sofi could choke out as she found herself sprawled on the ground, head most definitely dented and holding the baseball firmly in place.
Luna leapt up, instinctively clutching Caroline to herself let another ball sail in their direction. June screamed. And Vilden simply pinched the bridge of his nose and muttered a curse under his breath.
"Owwwwwwwwwwwwww," Sofi finally whined, not making an attempt to remove the ball from her skull. "My head hurts."
Caroline, safe in her mother's arms and rather enjoying this whole spectacle, shrieked with laughter and clapped her hands. If she could speak or project on a wavelength that the assembled Keths could hear, she would've been more easily able to convey the one thought on her mind.

Blink. Blink. Blink. Merlyn leaned over curiously. "Dude," he said, clearly impressed, hurriedly revising his impression about Sofi being human. Maybe she was a cartoon or something.
Anen blinked twice, a sudden hunch forming in his mind. Well - sometimes things happened like that. He'd gotten used to coincidences that meant something. So he Looked, not quite sure what he was expecting to see, and found the unmistakable red thread of a Guardian bond shining brilliantly between Sofi and Vilden.
He blinked his eyes back into normal focus, then back again, staring. Sofi didn't look anything like the Fa'e he was used to, but it was quite clear. "You're Fa'e?" he asked, glancing from Sofi to Vilden, surprised.

"Is she dead?" Lethe immediately asked, her voice hushed and tinged with awe. She was about to go and poke at Sofi's steaming carcass with her tennis racket when the older girl mumbled something first about her head and then about the government; she pretended to sneeze in order to hide her disappointment. It would have truly been hardcore, she felt, to have killed someone with a baseball in the head like that.
Still -- the baseball very definitely remained lodged in the back of Sofi's head. Perhaps it was for the best tha she wasn't dead, after all: less messy cleanup, and now there was undeniable evidence that Lethe was truly very, very powerful and ought to be sacrificed to with many much more hamburgers. "Sorry," said the young girl with none of the appropriate emotion behind the apology.
Then again, there was a kind of oddness to the way the other girl had phrased things... "Wait, does this happen to you a lot?" Anen's protestation that Sofi was, indeed, a Fa'e, only made her more confused. Well, exactly which of the two was the godlier one here?

"No, you are," Anen said, blinking again. "I can see the Guardian bond, if I look. Same as ours - " he made a vague gesture indicating himself, Lethe, and Faye. "There's nothing else that looks quite like that. Have you met Airi?" Because if he hadn't brought this child to her Guardian, Airi must have done it.
Merlyn scooted around to poke at the baseball. "Does that hurt?"
"Merlyn, you're being rude," Anen said, automatically and absently using the daddy-voice. He was mildly startled when his little brother scooted back a few steps, obediently.

Hokay, well, if Anen said Sofi was a Fa'e, then apparently so, especially after what had just happened. Faye hadn't really ever met a Fa'e that had the ability to take hits from baseballs like that; well, out of the ones she had met, anyways.
"The government?" the pink haired one inquired, vaguely intrigued. She took no notice as her rabbit entourage, including her black rabbit that had previously been in her bag, went off in search of food. Hey, it was a barbeque, and people cooked meat at these things, and they were hungry, after all

While Luna's attention would normally be on her cousin and the absolutely bizarre event that had just taken place, she was more focused on Lethe, whose thoughts were... for lack of a better word, interesting. And rather than risk another ball to Sofi's head in order to gain tribute, Luna sent a very strong poke Lethe's way. No words or emotions in particular; something more like a presence. A way to let her know that Luna had her mind on her.
"Ooooooohhhhh," Sofi mumbled dazedly, lifting her head slightly. The ground was tilting awkwardly, but that was a fairly normal occurrence when she had balls in her head. "...Bunnies."
Vilden was now rubbing his temples, in disbelief that what was previously a normal vacation was suddenly an event just as weird as any time Sofi seemed to set foot in gym class. "...Yeah... this happens a lot," he finally explained. "Sof, just pop it back out."
Oh. Right. Sofi squeezed her eyes shut, her cheeks puffing out as she tried to force all of the air in her lungs into her head. And with a friendly "Pop!", the ball bounced harmlessly to the ground.
"And that's..." Pant, pant, pant. "...Why I don't like little balls." A long pause as suddenly, everything Anen had said began to sink in. "Wait, what? Fa'e? Does this mean... I'm going to get cool ears like hers?" To punctuate her statement, she gestured toward Faye.

"What about big balls?" Merlyn piped up, and then immediately quieted again as his older brother shot a quelling glare in his direction.
"Uh - probably not?" Anen opined. "You don't look like any of the Fa'e I've met, outwardly. But the bond is there." He rubbed a hand over his eyes, looked again, just to be sure. Still there.

Taken completely off-guard at the sudden mental presence of anyone other than herself, Lethe very visibly swayed on her feet at the noncorporeal poke. It was, in Lethe's humble opinion, worse to know someone was monitoring your thoughts than it was to know that Santa Claus would take all your toys away for being bad.
Clearly, the answer to this was not to think at all! (This was very hard to do.) "Well, I dunno about ears," Lethe volunteered at last, an unspoken agreement to be good, "But you've definitely got powers. So if--if I punch--" No! No! Danger, Will Robinson!
"Give you punch," Lethe mended vaguely, suddenly not knowing at all where her train of thought was going, "Will.. you..." Clearly the only answer was to abandon track at this point. "Well, see, if you were found, then you could be Fa'e. And Anen says you are, and I do not think he would lie."

"Everyone's different," Faye summed up, shrugging, "though, sorry to say, the ears are a unique deal for yours truly."
Then again, there weren't any other rabbit Fa'e in general, so she couldn't compare herself to them. At least she was the only one with lop rabbit ears? She still hadn't a clue how this tied into that girl she met, or that thing she heard about vessles or whatnot.
"They're right, though. You've got these odd abilities, and you said you were found, er, put through the mail slot, so er...yeah."
The rabbits made their way over to where the food was, looking rather, well, eager. That, and cute and cuddly, something they'd picked up from the cats Tsu tended to find.

And that was when June brandished her metal spatula threateningly. "NO." NOT a bunny feeder. Maybe a bunny Fa'e, but not regular ones. "Shoo! Shoo!"
Hungry rabbits aside, Sofi was beginning to get a sense of dread at the impending doom she was likely to face at the hands of curious cat people and Fa'e. The talking cat was talking like he was going to throw a dodgeball at her face, the "KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!" girl was most likely going to hit her again (oh please not with the tennis stick; Sofi didn't WANT to become Sofi Cubes), and for all she knew, the rabbit girl was going to pull on her ears to MAKE rabbit ears.
...Well, the last one sounded kind of fun. But also a little painful!
"Sofi sense... Tingling!" She murmured, eyes going wide. And to punctuate her statement, a single lock of hair stood straight on end.

The Legion of Ebil, or at least the small group of rabbits attending, were not amused. One did not wave a spatula at them, nor did one attempt to feed them carrots, as Tsu learned many times in the past. They were carnivorous bunnies, and they demanded respect, dangit.
Not only that, but they were evil rabbits, too. With their beady red eyes glowing, the rabbits bared their fangs and began to hiss, showing their obvious displeasure with June's choice of actions.
Faye, naturally, didn't make any move to stop them.
