Ohanzee nosed at Hedwig's wings. "Special like you. And he loved the air. Hated it when he had to set hoof on the dirt. And my mother was like me." he shrugged, but smiled. "But I look like her, and not him." he smiled faintly. "Kishi is my twin brother. He's like my father, wings and all. He would have stayed on the ground, he was scared to fly as a foal, whereas I would have given anything to fly. But Father would have none of his winged son being scared to fly. He took him up, I was forced to stay down. And so Kishi and I grew distant. We both had what the other wanted." he shrugged. "And what about you, Hedwig? What was your family like?" he was curious, wanting to know more about the mare he so enjoyed. And since she had broached the question first...

He nuzzled closer to her. "You don't remember anything?" to him, that was sadder than his story, by far. Her comment on children made him flush, almost embarassed. He glanced up at the sky, awkwardly. "Family is something everyone deserves. Even if they have to make it one. Whether blessed with a child, or if they find friends so close they can be like family... it's a blessing. Unconditional love, and so to speak."

His gut clenched. He sent a sly look her way, a grin on his face letting her know he was teasing her. "You realize you'll get a chubby belly if you get pregnant." his laugh was light. "And you don't need children to feel special. You just need to find the right person." he glanced away again, and bent to break off a small flower, offering it to her, ears back shyly.

He was certainly glad he was dark-colored, or he'd be beet red.

He grinned at her, only to flush at her next words. "I... oh." wide silver eyes registered her meaning. He shook his mane, trying to figure out something more to say. Licked at her white ears, wriggling a bit. "I wouldn't abandon my family." he murmured. "And I'd try my best to be a good partner, and a good friend." After all, that was what a good relationship was built on, in the end, right? Two people, friends, who felt... deeply for each other. Hedwig had wiggled her way into his heart quickly.

He ducked his head, nervously. "I would like it if you did." he murmured. "I... You're very sweet, and very pretty, and I know there are things we don't know about each other, but we can learn together, right?" his ears twitched. "Favorite flowers, good friends, funny things that happened in our pasts. Nothing... formal, just yet." he looked at her nervously. "But perhaps I can... court you?" he supposed that would be a proper term. Bring her flowers, go places with her, learn about her personality, likes and dislikes.

He ducked his head, eyes wide and cheeks aflame. He could swear his stars were turning PINK. He couldn't think of what to say. Embarassed, and oddly pleased, with a little jump in his chest where his heart was. Was he ill? That would be timing, wouldn't it? He leaned in, licking at her cheek. "I want to court you. You deserve nothing but the best." he gave a warm smile. "Don't let me get away with less."

He ducked his head, nodding slightly. "It is getting awful late, isn't it?" he smiled slightly. "I will follow where you lead, Hedwig." he nuzzled her mane softly. "It would be my honor."
