After watching Dee sit down, Victor unhooked his claws from the tree's trunk and slowly settled down himself, silently thankful for Dee's consideration. "There isssn't any TV or radio...they do have a entertainment room with lotsss of moviess, they try and give usss thingsss to keep usss 'happy' You're right in that its like a sssummer camp can't leave"
Victor lowered himself on his legs and curled his tail halfway around himself. "Ssome people are nicsse but yesss, people with predator-animal ssserumss can be...agresssive" He remembered how Richard reacted the last time they met, and Chubbs. "They're working on a drug to keep people from going too wild, the firssst changed perssson I met wasss Chubbsss, he looksss like a really big bear and told me he had been taking sssomething and it helped. The Labsss tried sssomething new with me to try and eliminate the problem, but while I guessss it worked, it messsed the ressst of me up"

Dee listens, still caught up in a nice little mental maelstrom of emotions: fear, disgust, anger... but for now curiousity and pity were winning out. She wasn't *really* afraid of Victor anymore, but some feeling deep in her gut still gnawed at her.
It was an instinctual urge, something she had relied on in past excursions, but this one was definitely stronger. It labeled Victor a predator without hesitation, and Dee was secretly thankful to the serum if it was responsible for his civility. She'd seen how large lacertilians killed their prey...
"Were you on your way to any place in particular? I bet I sort of fouled up your day," she says with an apologetic expression.

"I wasss heading to the beach, I have to lay out in the sssun and like to ressst out there, itss relaxing for me" Victor told Dee, watching her while he sat there. "I don't think you ruined my day, cssertainly made it more exssciting, but itsss not that bad, nobody really got hurt, sssorry I had to break the bad newsss to you about the isssland"

Dee nodded. "Yeah, I imagine you have to keep your body temperature up... and no, don't apologize. I've been the one quivering and staring and being rude."
She draws another deep breath, feeling tired again all of a sudden. Her fitful night of sweat-drenched sleep and crazy cracked-out fever dreams were beginning to take their toll.
"Damn..." she mutters, groping for a bottle of water from her bag. "I was hoping to do some work today...but that's not going to happen if I continue to feel like this."

Victor looked at Dee for a moment, she did look a bit tired. "maybe you ought to find a sspot to ressst? you don't look all that well, you haven't been on the isssland very long have you?" Victor asked, hoping that Dee just had the cold or something.

The woman wipes her forehead with the back of her hand and gives a small smile. "No...I only got here yesterday. Ever since the 'vaccination', I've been feeling feverish. The pills take the edge off, but that's about it. I'm also hungry as hell, but I nearly chucked up my breakfast this morning...so I'm not about to risk it."
"Maybe I just ate something yesterday that didn't agree with me."
Correction... she hopes it was just something she ate.

Victor nodded at that. "Itss probably the injection they gave you...can make you ssick or feel bad after they give it to you, it ssshould passs by tomorrow, hope you do feel better, there isss a clinic in the village, they can give you sssomething if you need there" The lizardman shifted his feet again, looking around the path "the caferteria isss alwaysss open if you need to get sssomething"

Dee took a swig from her bottled water. "You're the most helpful tegu I've ever met, Victor...thank you." The cool liquid soothed her stomach somewhat. "I think I may have to do just that... a clinic, you said? Uggh.."
She groans as she stands, steadying herself against the tree. The birds overhead pause in their foraging and flit down a few feet, chattering at and scolding the two creatures on the ground beneath them. "Yes, definitely going to pay the clinic a call... besides, the birds don't seem to want me around today anyway." Dee gives Victor a resolved little smile and points up at the flock of wee birds, then extends a hand towards the changed man.
"It was very nice meeting you, Mister Psychologist. I hope it's allright if I call on your services one of these days."

Victor glanced at the birds Dee pointed out and looked at the woman, extending his foreleg towards her, it used to be his hand and even without his thumbs anymore, it still felt more comfortible using it to shake than his chest arms.
"You're welcome Dee... and you can just call me Victor, and I rather be a helpful human than lizard...but itsss been nicsse meeting you, and hope you feel better sssoon"

Dee blushed, having meant the tegu remark as something lighthearted, now felt that she had insulted him. Way to go, dumbass, she chided herself.
Her handshake was firm and genuine, as it always was when she met someone she knew she could admire.
"Thank you, Victor," she replied in a weak voice, sweat beading on her forehead and vision blurring a bit. It was definitely time for her to go. "I hope so too...and I hope the rest of your day is pleasantly uneventful." She wavers as she straightens herself and adjusts her bag. "Take care. I'm sure I'll see you around."

Victor nodded his head, and gently let Dee's hand go and moved to the side of the game trail so Dee could get by him without much trouble. "you're welcome, and remember I'm in Seeeventy five, call or ssstop by anytime you'd like" the lizardman told her, flicking his tail to the side.
"you take care as well"

"Seventy five, yes sir," she gives a little salute which turns into a weary wave and she edges past him, careful not to step on any of his numerous toes. Hefting her bag and pausing a moment to bend down and retrieve her snake hook--which had been dropped shortly before she tackled poor Victor--Dee trudges back up the trail towards the village.

Victor watched and made sure Dee was on her way and was alright, watching her walk down the path towards the village before he headed the opposite direction, towards the beach, he hoped to meet her again sometime...but wished they didn't have to meet here
