Natsuki finally managed a day off from the cafe, and lucky enough, she would be able to accept the initation to the Valentine's celebration at Lab 305. It had been ages since she had been able to see Shuura, Chloe, and Tsu and wandered through the crowd nervously. She wasn't in costume like all the times her friends had seen her. Her brilliant copper hair shone in the winter sunlight. Huddling her jacket closer around her neck, her gray eyes searched the crowd nervously for a familiar face.
< crying >> Natsuki took at stab at the Lucky Pan. Blowing on the dice for good luck, she gave them and shake and wound up with a 113... just two off from nabbing herself a prize.
"Will my luck ever improve?" she sighed, pushing her bangs from her eyes. "Maybe I'll give it again in a little bit after the crowd receeds a bit..."
She found a familiar face. Gage. However, the last time they met was at the Durem Matsuri nearly a year ago. She wondered if he would even recognize or remember her. He seemed engaged in coversation with another Raevan. The line for refreshments was larger than she wanted to deal with so she moved a long a little while before stopping.
Unfortunately, she found herself stopped in front of the Kissing Booth. Digging out her wallet, she remembered the event was for charity with a smile. There was a man whom looked familiar, and it dawned her her. It was the guy with the extremely loud outfit from the Matsuri. Taking him for a brave fellow, she stepped into his Kissing queue.
"That's a lot of heavy reading for a kissing booth, don't you think?" Natsuki smiled warmly, with a sparkle in her eye.

Rivener blinked in surprise as the slight breeze had stolen some feathers from Roux's wings. And now, Roux was looking so... For the life of him, Rivener couldn't think of any other word to describe Roux's behavior, besides "Embarassment."
Riv, while Roux wasn't looking, shifted momentarily, stealing a glimpse of the wings behind the Ice Frei's back. They were so bare! He was losing all his feathers! Was this why he was acting so upset?
This was a delicate situation. Rivener settled back into place and just looked at Roux for a while, wondering what he might be able to say to ease his friend's mind... Finally, Riv decided to do something drastic. It might work, it might not... He hoped it would, since ticking off the cold Raevan might not be healthy for the warmth-needing Scorpion.
Floating forward, Riv slid his hands onto Roux's "waist", and leaned forward to kiss him. His lips remained for a long moment, enjoying the velvety touch of the other so much that he almost forgot his plan. He hadn't kissed anyone in a while, he suddenly realized.
When he stopped kissing, Riv gave Roux a hug. "I missed you very much, and I'm very glad to see you. You're so much more beautiful than anything else I normally see," he whispered.
Aphismet just watched the fish-boy leave. He was acting strangely, that one. Frowning slightly in concern, Aph was about to ask Chloe if perhaps someone should keep an eye on him, when she suddenly directed this mind-staggeringly sweet smile at him.
Aph just stared at her, his mouth hanging open. He knew he was supposed to be saying something, but his brain refused to latch on to anything coherent. All that he ended up saying was: "Er... Bah, Imuh... Erm, uhhh.... Heh?"

Oh s**t yeah the event!! Lazarus thought as he hurried out of the playroom where he was playing tic tac toe with Kaze. It's such a hassle to take care of that little... thing. At running speed, Laz floated towards the main doors of the lab that leaded outside. It was the Valentines event, though he had little knowledge of the holiday, he was kind of forced by Kyou to help run the refreshments booth, since he don't want to run the kissing booth. "REMEMBER ALL THOSE REPAIR BILLS FOR YOUR DAMAGES??!! Now it's time you earn them back!!" Laz winced at the memory of Kyou 'persuading' him to work in the festival.
Getting out into the open, he spotted the kissing booths right away, where he spotted Roux and also... RIVENER??!! WHAT IS HE DOING HERE??!?!? Instinctively he moved towards the other direction, away from Rivener in case he saw him. Although inside, he was glad that Rivener was alright. The last time he saw him, Rivener was still laying weakly on the couch in Aphismet's apartment.
Something else caught his attention though. "Lucky Pan" the sign read. There were 2 dices inside a... pan?! Curious, he looked at the note attached near the pan. "What the hell is my name doing on here??!!" He cried out loud as he spotted his name on the top of the Raevan name list. He wasn't sure what he was doing, but all he knows is that he wanted to know why his name is on that list! And what kind of prizes they are! Don't tell me... KISSES FROM THE RAEVANS??!! He thought in horror, linking the main event to the prizes. He could only stare in horror as people roll the dice in the pan, knowing that he couldn't do much to stop them from rolling. Kyou had given him prior warning about damage during the festival.

The book Julian was currently reading might have seemed like a foreign language to anyone attempting to look over his shoulder. While the words contained within were printed neatly, they formed strange, complicated equations that might only have made sense to someone studying mathematics far too complex for anyone that wished to stay out of a straitjacket. Fortunately for Julian, he had no fear of any confining clothing as he knew precisely how to get out of them. The evening in which he had learned to do so had been very productive, if not a little bit uncomfortable.
At first, he did not look up when a stranger attending the small fair spoke to him. For all intents and purposes, Julian was there to form a nice impression on those who ran the lab. He was quite certain nobody would really want to speak with him, let alone touch him, and that only brought a strange sort of warmth to that space his heart had been surgically removed from. Besides, working outside on his classwork was a nice change of pace.
However, when a full ten seconds passed without the woman leaving, Julian forced himself to look up. The very fake smile plastered on his lips was not even remotely pleasant.
"There's a stall for it farther down the walk. I suggest you read the signs. The ones that say "Kissing Booth" on them are usually for just that."
Somehow, even though Julian was sitting, he managed to look down his nose at the other. It was quite an accomplishment.
Before he could manage to continue with anything too sarcastic, yet another young lady stepped up to his stand. With a great deal of surprise, Julian noted this one seemed as though she might actually take him up on the offer of... a...
"Perhaps it is, perhaps it isn't. How many of these have you visited?"

Suddenly, Kalec noticed that he had the attention of two beings. Despite the fact that he was still unsure about things, he believed vehemently that in order to understand the world around him, he would have to interact, despite the instinct within him to flinch and pull away. It was a lot to take in at once. But he felt that he was up to the task.
The Raevan who was manning the booth with him had spoken a few words in his direction, giving him a name. Gage. He mulled the word over in his mind. His calculating brain took in Gage's outward appearance, the horn in his head, the green-colored skin that seemed to be laced with symbols, the cloth that covered his face. Besides the natural muffling of the cloth, he seemed to be speaking quietly, as if he didn't -really- want to say anything either. And yet, this...Gage, had lived his life much longer than Kalec did. In that way, Kalec felt, he could learn a lot if he got to know this Raevan.
He nodded toward his booth-mate. "I am Kalec." He didn't elaborate further, but his body language indicated respect. "We have a customer," he added, matter-of-factly and glanced back towards the girl that had in the meantime come closer to the refreshments. She had in the meantime, begun to speak again, and he turned his attention back to her.
"Lemon...ade?" This was simple, something he knew. Lemonade was a word that Kyou had used to describe the yellow-ish liquid in the container over to the right. He had tried it, and it had tasted odd to him, slightly acidic is what he thought instinctively, though he didn't understand the term.
Kalec smiled his unnatural smile, and went to get a glass of this...Lemonade. He gently and precisely set two cubes of ice into the glass, and poured the liquid in. The liquid crackled against the cubes, and he took all of the facets of this reaction in his mind. Quite interesting really.
"Here you are..." He handed the glass over with fluid grace, even as he was keeping Gage's gaze every once in awhile. He was curious, this lady hadn't given her name. He was sure that every being had some sort of name, it was just a convention. "I am Kalec, one of...the Raevan. Who are you?"

Sam glanced over at the lone lemonade glass. It looked so forlorn and... left out where he would have to clean it up the darn teenagers. The janitor voice inside his head perked up at the sight of the obviously abandoned glass. Grumbling something, Sam took the opportunity to size up the rest of the festival as he walked over to pick it up. He practically spit out his drink when he saw two of the raevan things kissing. His lemonade went down the wrong way and he started choking as his lungs tried to figure out if he was breathing the lemonade or trying to cough it back up. He bumped into a red headed lady near the concession stand where he just was.

"Hey," Puchiko said, bristling at the man's brusque manner. She slammed both palms down on the counter and leaned forward, lips twisted into an impertinent frown. It wasn't a very threatening or even angry looking gesture - she looked more like a child on the verge of throwing a tantrum, given her short stature and round face. The angriest Shirley Temple ever.
"Maybe you should be nicer to people who are lots smarter than you," she snapped. "'Cause smart people? Can kick your a**. I just gotta press a button - " She paused her speech to poke the counter, as if she were pressing a button located there, "and I could blow up that airy little head of yours. Capische?"
She wasn't hungry now that she'd found someone to pick a fight with. That was more than appetizing!

Alex could only describe her reaction as flabbergasted. On top of existing in the first place, these creatures also possessed magic. She could feel the ice of the blue and white one reach her, even by the fire. Enthralled, she was helpless to watch the interactions between the two. Such subtle movements they made! It seemed to speak volumes to each other. She had a feeling these two beings knew each other.
Her feeling was confirmed when they shared a kiss.
That seemed to break the spell they held over her; this behavior was so beyond her studies! Alex didn't toy with the idea that she knew everything, but it was still a slap to the face to see things that, before this night, she never knew existed. Her eyes flitted over the other booths momentarily. She caught sight of the names, two of them being Doctors. Making a mental note to visit these 'Doctors' when they took their places, the woman decided she needed water. Iced water, actually.
She hadn't even made it to the refreshments booth when she discovered it was being run by two more of the creatures. "Amazing," she breathed when she saw the silver and purple one. This one displayed an almost draconic appearance, if not demonic. She wasn't sure, but she'd make sure to find out. Next to him was a remarkable green one, the first mostly singularly colored one she had seen.
"What the hell is my name doing on here??!!" The woman looked over her shoulder to find ANOTHER of the beings! This one was red and silver, and seemed to have an extremely short temper. She couldn't help but smile and wonder if he was part Italian.
Her attention returned the the two at the booth just in time to catch the name of the silver and purple one, as well as a name for the creatures: Raevans. She filed the information in her mind; she would look these up as soon as she got back to that stuffy little apartment. Reminding herself that they were intelligent, Alex greeted the green creature. "Good evening," she smiled at him - she was mostly sure it was a him, anyway, "would you happen to have any water?"

Watching the brief interaction between the two running the booth, a tiny little word that Niksia wasn't oft to use tried to make itself known in irritating fashion.
They're... Cute.
That was subjective, to say the very least, her tastes in the 'cute' did not always match the general population's idea of cute. Something about their slightly inhuman appearance appealed to her, it made it that much easier to speak to them.
Kalec serving the lemonade was amusing to watch, his exactness with the ice cubes and the pouring of the liquid made Niksia tilt her head slightly in thought. She took the glass from him and sipped a little bit as he spoke to her again.
'Me? Call me Niksia. A Raevan, what's...?'
Her question was cut off by her being bumped suddenly. The lemonade spilled over the edge of the glass and mostly onto her fingers.
'Oh!' It was all she could say, having been caught so off guard. Yet again.

Chloe gave a polite wave to Josh, nodding in greeting in his direction. "Hello."
She turned back to Aphismet, blinking with a little confusion. "A-Ah.. are you alright? Do you need some lemonade..?" She looked up at him with worry.
He reached up quickly to grasp Rivener's shoulders as his hands went to his midsection, for a moment almost releasing a wave of cold against the other's skin. He held back.. just barely.. and was suddenly being kissed.
He stared at Rivener as the other pressed his lips against Roux's, feeling the warmth of another's mouth against his was.. it was nice. It was a kiss, that was what his booth was for, right..? He let Rivener kiss him, even pressing back a little bit against him.
He let his arms hang limply beside him as Rivener hugged him, wings rustling lightly. He looked away blankly, half torn between pleasure at the compliment and half.. uncaring. Even the rage was draining from him it felt.

A slight flush rose in Natsuki's cheeks. "Actually, I've never... engaged in such activity for charitable purposes," she said slowly, hoping the man before her wasn't implying anything. "You would be my first... ever."
Looking at the name list, her face grew even brighter. Tsu would be taking up a chair later. That would certainly be a way to say 'long time no see' to him.
"The question should be, do you normally put yourself on an auction block for good causes," she smiled, taking her donation out of her wallet. "Not many guys would do this without alterior motives."

"Sorry," Sam gasped between choughs. His lungs finally made their decicsion and expelled the offensive lemonade through the gill slits on either side of his chest, wetting his shirt and stinging on the way out. He realised he had caused the woman to spill her lemonade. Eager no tto have her make a scene and call attention to the would be savior of teh raevans, Sam quickly snatched up the extra glass he had bought and offered it to the woman. "Err, sorry sorry. Here's a replacement glass... Miss..."

Flicking lemonade from one hand and then the other, Niksia pondered over damp sleeves being better than damp gloves. She looked mildly disturbed at the thought, before turning to face who had bumped into her.
She took the extra glass, now managing to juggle two between her small hands. Hoping to whatever was out there that nothing else would happen in the next moments, she looked at the apologetic figure.
There are humans, I swear I saw some earlier...
'It's alright, I just spilt a little on myself. Niksia, will do just fine.'

Rivener pulled Roux away at arm's length, keeping his hands on the other's shoulders. He lowered his head to try and make eye contact with the other. Roux wasn't responding, he seemed like a dead thing in Riv's arms, although the kiss had been pleasant... Rivener frowned.
"What is it? Why aren't you happy to see me?" Rivener, in his selfish need for affection from his favorite person, was slowly forgetting that his initial plan was to cheer up Roux. "What is it?! Talk to me, dammit!" He felt like shaking the other, but did not. Instead he just squeezed the shoulders ever so slightly, and almost pouted.
Aphismet cleared his throat and coughed violently. He kept his eyes on the floor, where it was safe. A severe shade of crimson was invading his face. "I, ah... *cough, hack* I'm... I'm okay. I just had, ah, there was something... Erm, nevermind. Wh-what was your question?" he asked again.
