Mirko_Filipovic In general. Muay Thai Practitioners will generally beat down TKD. You can't say that, it really depends on if the TKD school actually teaches valid s**t from their art. Generally speaking though, Muy Thai has less to prove because it's tested due largely to the sport aspect of it. Now, sports are very different from real life, but when the sports involve basically sparring, and sparring is the closest you'll get to real life, yeah.
Muy Thai is by no means flawless though. I've seen so many people want off to Muy Thai and then Muy Thai practitioners get laid out on the street. Comparable to the arrogance of BJJ practitioners, and then when they get a shot on the chin, all their "superior takedown" s**t is out the window.

Quote: True, no matter how good you might be everyone is prone to making mistakes and anyone, especially muppets on the street have a "punchers chance". Exactly. There's room for error in any art, no matter how invincible people make it out to be. I'm not bashing on BJJ or Muy Thai by the way, I respect those guys. But I'm just saying, one can't really say generally an art SUCKS, because there will always be, no matter how miniscule, a small school here or there that actually teaches the art properly, with connection to reality and established techniques.
I.e: capoiera, generally speaking, is not going to get you far, at least not with all the flipping and aerial s**t. But I'm sure there are a few small schools that actually teach some good technique.
