Cordain gently reached out and slowly brought Papina to him in a loose hug, "Calm down...just be quiet and feel the water...It's strange at first but if you let yourself relax and just feel how it moves...You could grow to enjoy it..." he said in the most soothing voice he could.

Papina clung to Cordain entirely, forgetting the fact that neither of them were wearing very much. For a while, it appeared like nothing had changed, but then the leaves on her head quieted down to mere quivering, then a shiver now and then. Finally, they curled once, uncurled, then were still. Papina sniffed, then lowered one hand from it's clutched location on one of Cordain's shoulders down to the water, and she started to trace random patterns in it, being completely still everywhere else.
It appeared she had gone from loathe to dislike...
It was a start.

Cordain continued to hold onto Papina and gave her a smile, "...Water is about the only way you can experience weightlessness...just floating with nothing solid about you...It's an enjoyable experience and well...swimming is good for the body."
Halcyon splashed about a bit as he turned to watch Cordain and Papina. He was curious about the two of them. He would have to ask questions and read books about the kind of thing going on between the two of them later.

At the word "weightlessness," the tracing hand paused as she squeaked and clung tighter to Cordain, the leaves on top of her head set a-quiver again. Weightlessness meant no ground beneath you. No ground beneath you meant you had no anchor, nothing to plant yourself into, nothing to gain nutrients from. She did not want to become weightless.
She about missed the rest of it, but caught the end. Swimming was good for the body? She loosened her grip just a tad and the leaves slowly went still again. Eh heh. Well, if swimming was good for you... She lifted her head to peek over his shoulder, giving the water a dubious look.

He saw her reaction to the good for the body and smiled, "Swimming works your arms and legs, and is good for exercising the heart. It's also good to learn how to swim even if you hate the water just in case you end up in water and need to swim for shore."

She shuddered all over, but he had a point. A very good point. Best to learn how to swim... just in case. She gulped, then pulled slightly away from Cordain to look up at him. She might as well learn how.

He smiled at Papina, "We'll get you used to the water first...later on we can start teaching you how to swim and float...okay?" he gave her a warm smile as he held her hands still.
Halcyon floated over and smiled at Papina too, "...Hi Papina, how are you doing?" he asked her. He was bigger than last time.

((Ok, I still have nothing thought up, but I really want to post. ;>.x))
The corners of her mouth twitched upwards in a shaky smile in response to his smile, even as she continued to cling to him. A blush started to creep up from her collarbone as she turned to face Halcyon. "Heya. If I wasn't in the water, I'd be doing wonderfully now. You?" She blinked, then looked closer at him, unwinding a little as she somewhat forgot where she was. Was he bigger? "Have you grown?" she inquired, totally forgetting to be polite in asking.

Halcyon nodded his head as he floated there, smiling at her as he watched her with his prismatic eyes, "Yes, I have grown...pretty normal for someone who hasn't reached maturity." he looked at Cordain then back to Papina.
Cordain gently rubbed Papina's back and smiled at her, "You've grown a bit too since I last saw you Papina, although I figured that the scroll children grow faster than normal."

(( ... *still stumped, still wants to post* sweatdrop I'm sure I can think up something as I post...))
Papina's stomach started to flutter as Cordain rubbed her back and she gave Halcyon a rather shaky grin. "Well, I suppose there is that point," she admitted to the other scroll child. She herself wasn't fully mature, so of course she has grown too. She turned to give Cordain a wry smile. "I supect that the only reason my mother hasn't been saying I've been shooting up like a weed is because my scroll is the poison ivy plant and she doesn't want me to even think that she might be hinting that I'm a weed." Not that she hadn't been growing quickly, mind. Papina rolled her eyes, having almost completely forgotten where she was currently. That she was lessening her grip on Cordain only helped to prove this fact.

((-turns SD and celebrates, waving flags- YAY!))
Cordain smiled at Papina as she was relaxing, "Well...if you are a weed Papina, you are by far the most beautiful weed and I would welcomely let you grow unrestrained in my gardens." he commented to her quietly.
Halcyon wrinkled his nose then looked up and began smiling like a goof as he was thinking about Isdra. He just floated on his back, staring up above him, day-dreaming about Isdra, wondering if she was thinking about him too.

((*chuckles* sweatdrop Yes, I know, I'm horrible at posting in here... xp I usually have an idea of what to post before I do, but I've been having to preview repeatedly here before I'm happy with my post... sweatdrop ))
Papina found herself speechless at his complement, all thoughts of water flying out of her head. Cordain couldn't have done a better job of making her forget why she feared water if he tried. Her eyes had gone wide, her body began to tremble, and her cheeks burned as she blushed bright red. That was... quite the statement. She'd never been told anything like that before... How does one respond to something like that?
She turned her head to find something to distract both of them, and was rewarded when she caught sight of Halcyon. She went still and blinked in bemused confusion at the crystal scroll child as she debated if she should ask what was clearly on his mind.
"... How does he do that?" she asked finally, although that wasn't the question she had intended on asking. Still, it was a distraction. If this distraction didn't work, she could always plea that she needed to get out so she could get her roots unwrapped - they were starting to ache and change color from the lack of oxygen.
Next time, she was going to see if wrapping some dirt up with her roots would work better and allow her to stay in the water longer.

Cordain smiled as he removed Papina from the water, drying off her arms and legs quickly before removing her wrappings, "How does Halcyon do what Papina? Swim? He's grown up learning how to swim, water doesn't bother crystals after a..."

"Well, float like that. I thought..." She blinked and stopped, not wanting to seem rude or ignorant. She had been about to say that she thought crystals were heavy, and couldn't float, but had quickly realized that she really couldn't say that without feeling like an idiot and possibly insulting Halcyon as well. She was distracted by the sensation of delight her roots were giving off as they were exposed to air once more. She shivered with an unknown feeling in reaction as she started to get goosebumps over all her green parts, and subconsiously started to rub at her roots trying to get that crawling sensation to stop.

He smiled at Papina, "He's still got flesh and blood and bones too...fat too but it's hard to find it..." Cordain laughs as he watches her and smirks as he makes a few gestures and suddenly a breeze runs across her hands.
