Shen chuckled at Zagore's response, moving himself more forward in attempts for a little footsies. But he wasted his chance due to his slow methods and grumbled, standing up to follow the boy. Of course he had to try something else, but he had to keep it small. He placed his hand in the middle of Zagore's back and motioned his other hand towards Avani. "Avani, this is Zagore Deberon." Shen lowered his hand and then removed it, sitting down next to him on the booth.
Avani quickly shut her laptop and stood up, "Uhh, hi?" She shot a small glare at Shen and grumbled something about not bringing his toys over to her. "It's nice to meet you, Zagore." She wanted to say more evil things to get rid of the boy, but actually meeting on of Shen's interests was new to her and she was quite interested.

When he felt Shen's touch it took a lot of Zagores self restraint to stop himself from doing something drastic. I've only met the guy and he's touching me like we've known each other for years, brash overconfident. He cast Shen a dark glance as he took his seat before smiling at Avani, when he spoke it was with a far more gentle tone than when he spoke with Shen. "Avani a pleasure to meet you, perhaps you might answer a quick little question for me my dear, this 'gentleman', what is his name and relationship to you?" Zagore quickly brought his hand up and placed his index finger just in front of Shen's mouth, signalling silence. He wanted to see if his story matched up with the girls.

Avani held back a huge laugh when she heard her child's thoughts, taking a sip of her water and blaming it on a cough. "Umm," Shen gave her a goofy wink and a hidden thumbs up, "He's my older brother. Our pa-" Shen glared, she sighed, and she got up to sit on our knees, "Momma and papa went on a business trip and Shen's taking care of me! He's awesome, right?? You like him, don't you? You really do, I can tell! Right?" She was picturing evil things she'd like to do to Shen, and she hated doing the "catching" whenever people brought her in.
When Avani was done with her act, Shen gently reached up to take Zagores' hand and move it to the table, giving it a small squeeze. "See? I'm not a bad guy~ and trust me, she has plenty of friends she can stay the night with if we get lost tonight." He grinned again, still thinking that Avani had told the truth earlier, and that he absolutely adored the overbearing Shen. "Does that answer your question?"

Zagore visibly flinched when Shen took hold of his hand and he quickly withdrew his hand swiftly picking up his coffee mug to hide his reaction and to cover his face as he smiled slightly. As he returned the mug to the table his face returned to it's usual neutral expression. "My, but you are very forward, did it ever occur to you, that I may not be interested in having that kind of fun with a man?" Zagores opinion of Shen was going to depend a lot on how he answered this question.

Shen could see a 'watch yourself' look coming from Avani and leaned back, crossing his arms while looking at the young man. He smiled softly and put an arm around him, "If you weren't, you'd have already shot me down by now. I'm thinking that you are either interested, curious, or crushing." Shen moved his arm back and stood up, turning to pat the girl on the head. "Either of you want some ice cream?" Avani's doing great! I have to get her a reward. "My treat, of course!"
"YES!" Avani blushed after her outburst and lowered herself in her chair, much like Shen had done earlier. "I mean, yes please. I'll have sherbert, umm, the pink kind if they have it!" She smiled and wiggled her legs, moving her bag and laptop to the floor to make room for the sweets.

Zagore responded with a slight smile and in a quiet tone. "A very good observation, of course I could also simply be too polite to inconvenience the good people of this store by forcing them to clean up your entrails after I disembowel you for your arrogant tone and conduct." He took a sip from his mug and as he returned it to the table he dropped the smile and spoke rather harshly "But if you ever touch me like that again with out at least asking before hand and I'll make sure you eat your next meal through a straw."
He sat quietly for a moment then suddenly brightened again. "But since you are offering I'll have mint and choco chip please." Zagore felt a little on edge around these two, something just seemed off about them, but he hadn't a clue what.

Shen's brows shot up as the boy talked, an urge to chuckle overcoming him soon after he finished. He cleared his throat and sat back down in the booth for a moment, touching Zagore on the shoulder to turn him. "Well, I suppose that I could start asking, I didn't realize how simple touches made you feel." He smiled again and headed for the counter, ruffling Avani's hair on the way. "Mint 'n' chip and a sherbert on the way!"
Avani watched Shen leave and immediately moved to the other side to sit with Zagore. "He's in an offering mood right now, you can get pretty much anything out of him now!" She grinned and hugged him, "Thank you~! He's been in a bad mood for ye-- err, since I dunno." She snuggled the boy again trying to get him to look over her mistake, and to see what Shen would do if he saw.

Zagore hid another little smirk, he had just basically threatened to kill the guy but that didn't seem to phase him in the slightest, maybe he had some potential. As Avani started snuggling him Zagore gave a little sigh. Must run in the family "You could thank me by letting go, while I am far less likely to hurt a little girl, I have my limits and your brother is pushing me towards them." Zagore gave a little shrug and slid over in his seat to try and escape her grasp as he waited for the dessert to arrive.

Avani pursed her lips and removed her hands with a huff, moving back to her seat and pulling out a book. "Am I in the way or something? I can go to a friend's house now if you'd like me to leave the two of you alone." She shrugged her shoulders and was about to crack open the reading when Shen came back and plopped a bowl in front of her. "..It's green. They didn't have pink?" She saw the man shake is head and grabbed the spoon, "Well at least it's still sweet."
"Sorry, sorry! Not my fault. Anyway, here you go, Zagore! Enjoy." Shen set down the bowl lightly and pushed it towards the man. "They make it real good over here, it may make you want to stay here if I can't." He winked and snagged a chair from an empty table, transferring seats to make Zagore a little less uncomfortable. "Better?"

Zagore had mixed feelings about being left alone with Shen, he wasn't exactly holding back much now, what would he do when his sister wasn't watching, Zagore was a little curious as to what he might try. When the ice-cream arrived he nodded his thanks and started eating, savouring the flavour, he allowed each spoonful to melt in his mouth, giving him more time to consider his choices. Shen wasn't the type Zagore would usually go for, but he didn't really have anything else planned for the evening and even if he did he didn't think Shen the type to take no for an answer.
Swallowing another spoonful of ice-cream he looked towards Avani. "So does your brother do this short of thing often, randomly start hitting on guys he just happens to bump into?"

Avani cheerfully ate her ice cream, trying to ignore the looks Shen kept giving both her and Zagore. She didn't like it very much, but at least she got some sweets. She perked up at the question, not exactly sure what Shen would want her to say. He gave her a look and she felt pressured, saying the first thing that came to mind. "Umm, no, not like -this- he's usually more subtle." The man gave her a look of approval and went back to fawning over Zagore, am I really here? She cleared her throat and set her spoon down, "But it may be because you have the same hair color as his twin that he--"
"Avani!" Shen slammed his hands on the table and gave her a cold stare, "That's enough. Little children shouldn't be going on so much, eat your ice cream and be quiet." The girl rolled her eyes and took her bowl elsewhere, increasing Shen's frustration. He relaxed after a little while and ran his hands through his hair, "Sorry. She shouldn't have brought that up and it's not true. The color just made me turn and look, it's not what made me stick."

Zagore was a little surprised by Shens sudden change of attitude towards the girl, obviously she was about to blurt out something he didn't want to bring up. He considered pushing the issue and trying to find out what Avani was about to say but decided to shelve the topic for now Swallowing another spoonful Zagore asked his next question "Well then what did make you 'stick', I doubt it was my charming personality?" Zagore was reluctant to admit to himself that he was starting to grow a little more comfortable around this guy and he did like the attention to a degree.

Shen looked up and gave a small smile, "Well..I'm still finding out your personality, right?" He scooted a little closer and leaned in. "First it was the hair, then it was the face, then it was the way you ignored me, and now it's the lovely way you treat me." He winked leaned back, stretching, "I should go apologize to her before we get a quake or storm or something. But I think I'll give it some time, a date is more important right now." Shen grinned and eyed what was left in the bowl. "My, my, do you like sweets?" He chuckled, "I'd be more than happy to buy you some more if you treat me with your company on a more elegant date."

Quake or storm? Whats he talking about? Zagore gave a mental shrug and just assumed it was some reference to the girl throwing a temper tantrum or something. When Shen made reference to an elegant date Zagore was so thrown off he nearly choked on the ice-cream. Looking at him Zagore wouldn't have thought Shen even knew the word never mind want to go on any kind of date that might be considered elegant. On the other hand Zagore tried not to judge people solely on their appearances and if Shen was willing to pay, well Zagore saw no reason to pass up the opportunity with out a firm reason.
"What exactly do you have in mind when you say 'elegant date'? You and I may have very different standards in regards to what passes for elegant."

Shen chuckled lightly and patted the table, leaning back and crossing his legs. "What, do I not look like the type who can take you out on a nice date? C'mon, I can't look that bad in my casual's casual clothes!"  He took a quick drink of Avani's abandoned water, and moved over to sit next to Zagore. "Well, for starters we can go to a much nicer restaurant." He took one of his hands and held it, "Then we can go to the Art Arena and check out the top gallery." He took the other one, "And then we can finish it up with a nice walk around Gambino, guided by moonlight. Also, if you care to stay 'til morning, I'd be happy too cook you my 5 Star breakfast."
