She stared at Charlamagne before smiling. "Of course I'm okay. I was just thinking too much on the past, best it be forgotten." She nodded, yes it was over and done with.
She trotted after the mare, "Yes I suppose we should. I don't want my two-legger to think I got myself lost or something." That would be awful, to get herself lost. She paused briefly before trotting again.

"Okay then. As long as nothing was seriously wrong." The small mare replied as she waited. When Rain Curl finally trotted after, she turned and headed in the direction the forest was.
"You get lost too? I know I do every now and then." Charlamagne admitted as she trotted along. The thought of getting lost quickly left the mare when another came up. "Are there any specific berries your human wanted, or are any fine? I only know where there are a few bushes. It's my herd member Abel that knows where there's a lot."

"Yes, sometimes." She admitted. She walked some more, looking about the trees when they finally reached the forest. "Any sort of berries are fine, though I think the round ones would be best." She hoped any were fine, Rain Curl knew her owner liked the round ones but the colours, that was the tricky part.
"You live in a herd?" She looked over at the other mare. Though most horses probably lived in herds, Rain Curl still was unsure if she ever wanted to be apart of one. Or maybe she already had, when she was younger, but she couldn't remember.

Walking between the trees, she looked about to see where they were exactly. She ducked as she came across a low branch before pressing on. When she heard that Rain Curl sometimes got lost, she smiled slightly. "At least I know I'm not the only one who gets lost sometimes. I don't feel as silly anymore."
She took in mind what the other mare said about round berries and continued along the small path. At her question, she looked back and nodded. "Yeah, some of the other horses are a bit... odd, but they're still 'family' I guess. It seems to get bigger every day."

She followed along, looking about as she walked. She nodded in agreement, it was relieving to know that others also got lost. "Family." She repeated softly, did she have a family? Well her owner was important to her but for her, were they family? She had no idea.
"You're lucky to have them." She smiled, family seemed like a really good thing. When she was able to be in a family herself, that would make her truly happy.

Charlamagne trotted further into the forest, stopping every now and then to check some bushes. When she noted nothing was there, she continued.
It felt good to be with someone else other than her herdmates. Turning back to the other mare, she smiled and giggled softly. "Yeah, I am, but I'm sure you'll get a family soon enough."

"Perhaps." She replied slowly, not really sure if that would be true or not. Though only time would tell, Rain Curl did not want to have her hopes up, only to become downhearted by the thought of having no family.
"Is that them?" It looked like berries but maybe they were not.

She stopped when Rain Curl asked something about that being them. She looked at what she was referring to before walking up to the bushes. They sure did look like berries, did she perhaps miss a bush on her little quests for them? Tilting her head, she bent her head down to the bush and sniffed at them. Bringing her head back up, she nodded. "Yep, these are some berries."
She stepped back for the other mare to get to them. As she did, she took the time to think over some things... especially over somethings that were previously said.

She walked up to the bush, bending her head to reach the bush. She broke off a piece of a branch with the clumps of leaves and berries attached. It would be hard to speak with them in her mouth but it would do.
"My job is complete." She hoped it came out as such, it was hard to say if Charlamagne understood her or not with this branch inbetween her teeth. She placed the branch down, "thank you". She smiled at the mare, grateful for the help in finding the berries but also for other things.

Charlamagne watched the other walk up to the bush and take a branch from it. For a brief moment, she lowered her head to pick at some of the berries that had previously fallen off, nickering softly at the taste.
When she heard a muffled something about a job, she looked back up and tilted her head curiously. It was when she was thanked that she smiled cheerfully and nodded. "You're welcome. It's good to help others." She replied with a small swish of her tail. Her eyes glanced away for a moment or so before looking back and adding, "you know... I've been thinking... and I think it would be a good idea if you join my 'family'... that is, if you would like."

She stepped back, her eyes widened. Be a part of her family? It was so unexpected, why would Charlamagne wish to do that, for her. But wouldn't Charlamagne's family members disagree? Afterall she was an unknown to them. She shook her head, still in much shock.
She found much interest in her hooves, she didn't know what to say. She was speechless. Being apart of a family was something she wanted but why. Rain Curl did not understand why this mare would offer something like this to her. Saying yes was all that was needed.
"I....I'm grateful." She whispered finally. She thought of her owner. "I wouldn't have to leave her though?" A family would be nice but her owner was the one who looked after her for so long now, was her two-legger the answer then? Was she....family. Yes.

The small mare felt a bit bad for surprising the other like that, ears flattening a bit. She just waited for Rain Curl's answer, hoofing the ground slightly, hoping she wasn't being too hasty.
When the other finally said something, Charlamagne's ears perked up once again as she glanced back at her. At her question, her head canted to the side. 'Her?' She then figured she was talking about her owner. With a shake of her head, she replied. "No, she can come along with you... I'm sure my owner won't mind the company. But it's still up to you... I'm not the type to force things upon others."

She looked away, feeling guilty by the response she gave to the other mare. Her owner might not come, and Rain Curl didn't want to leave her. Her owner had taken care of her for so long and though Rain Curl wanted to go with Charlamagne to become a part of her family she wasn't sure if that was the right choice.
She shook, attempting to get this all off her pelt. Nothing happened and the decision still had to be made. Rain Curl sighed softly and turned back to Charlamagne. "I'd love to come, really I would. It's just that....I should stay with her because she has taken care of me. She might not go...." Her ears felt limp, she turned her head down, her mane covered her face.

Charlamagne, seeing the unsureness of the other mare, walked over to her and gave her a small, comforting nuzzle. After doing that, she stepped back and smiled sweetly. "It's okay, if you don't want to... I'm not going to force you, especially if your human doesn't want to come as well."
As much as she would love a new 'herdmember' it wasn't in the small mare's nature to make someone do something they were uncomfortable with. With a small nicker, she added. "But the offer is always open, just in case you or your human changes your minds."

She nodded slowly. "Thank you." She paused. "I'll remember the offer." Rain Curl looked at the ground, where the berries were. Was it time for her to say goodbye? She should get those berries to her owner, she was gone long enough.
She looked back to the other mare. Her tail swished. She shook her head, her mane shook with her. She stopped. "I should get these berries to my two-legger, shouldn't I?" She spoke more to herself but maybe Charlamagne would understand that it was time to say goodbye.
