I love sasuke as a seme, but I just don't like it when it's rape or anything
anyway, I soooometimes *note the sometimes* think Itachi is a bit more normal than we think.... mainmly because since I'm the older child and my bro is nine... I feel relieved when I *sometimies* torture him... it's a weird feeling... I know, I'm a bit wrong in the head but not in the retarted way.... and u know, exactly what happends with oitachi and sasuke happens with me ands my bro....
HE NEVER overcomes me.... no matter how hard he tries... not in grades, character, strenght, etc.
And I have thought of killing my parents many times....
Meh, I'm going crazy!! lols ^.^ blaugh

I dunno, maybe some people are a lot different from me xD; But I just don't think anybody 'normal' even if they were under a lot of pressure... would sink so low as to kill their family just because they could ^^; Not without the extreme guilt that is associated with such a thing. But the thoughts don't make you retarded or anything, just... surprising to see someone connect themselves so... easily with Itachi and the massacre of his clan ^^; I just usually try to take into account that Itachi was 13 years old, and that no amount of peer pressure or emo!anger towards his parents could pressure him into a half-city massacre (and don't forget he did it for the power of the Mangekyou Sharingan), no matter how... uh... I dunno, if he was going through puberty or something, and had some mad mood swings? It just doesn't seem pluasible to me xD; Buuuut, that's just me surprised ~Lyn

Killing your entire family in anything other self-defense is the result of some sort of serious psychological issues. Thinking about it and actually doing it are two VERY different things. ^^; Plenty of people go through the angsty teenager phase of, "Everyone's so mean to me, I should just kill them all~" but it's the rare, seriously unbalanced person who actually does that.

Selenai So, well, everyone knows that there's something a little bit... not quite right in the head with Itachi. Some people think he's just plain crazy, some people think he's sociopathic, and others... think he's perfectly normal (those people, perhaps, are the ones not all there in the head, methinks). So, well, I was wondering what the general concensus was on teh crazy of Itachi. Personally, as an Itachi RolePlayer, I find him to be... a sociopath. He has many of the qualities of this disorder, as well as a little mix of dissocial personality disorder and anti-social personality disorder. In fact, I find Kishimoto to have quite the strong knowledge on different psychological disorders. It's really quite fascinating. Especially seeing as how everyone on the show is like... a giant textbook full of them. Anyways, I was going to say that Itachi shows a lot of the characteristics of these disorders, such as: callous unconcern for the feelings of others, ncapacity to experience guilt or to profit from experience, particularly punishment, and lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another. Honestly... I find Itachi fascinating. I find that he seems to... well... the way he treats Sasuke is amazing. You can see the sociopath in him every time he talks to him, or pays him any regard at all. It's as though he derives some sort of pleasure by forcing Sasuke to react to him (and how easy it is, as malleable as Sasuke is) in any way possible. It's as though, because Itachi lacks the capacity to feel the emotions or reactions himself, he is fascinated by the way others (especially poor, traumatized Sasuke) express them. It's as though... Sasuke, who was always that one thing, that one perfect, unblemished, untarnished, unshakeable thing in his life... is the only thing that he finds worthy of his attentions. Naruto doesn't count- fetching him is a job :O Anyways, I'm finished rambling, I was curious as to what everyone else thinks :3 ~Lyn (I'll gladly give this a go.) I roleplay Itachi too, actually - I personally think that I am horrible at it (we're way too different), but I'm told otherwise by the people I RP with. I just sort of think it's fun...much like you, Itachi simply fascinates me. There is just so much that I doubt we will ever get to learn about him, so much that can be analyzed, so much cloudy, immeasurable depth. (One of the things I appreciate about Kishimoto most, of course, is how much he puts into his characters.) I, of course, like to explore the unending world of stimulus - what makes him tick? What makes him angry, what can he weather through without blinking? What is he sensitive to? In what ways is he human? I'm impressed at how weighty an impression we recieve of him based primarily on Sasuke's views of him. Admittedly, those views are the ones meant to influence our opinions of Itachi most, but roleplaying him has had the affect of making me wonder just how much Sasuke really knows about him. As an older sibling myself, it is easy for me to see Sasuke being influenced simply by what Itachi would want him to think of him - everyone with a sibling knows that there is a you you show to them, and a you that you show to your parents, and a you that you show to other people. Everyone has different personas, and though a sibling relationship is admittedly very personal, with the age difference, it's hard to know just how much of Sasuke's opinions have been deluded simply because of what Itachi wants him to think. This is not to say, of course, that Sasuke is not an exceptionally bright child and always has been. It is to say, however, that Itachi seems to have a way of making people see him in the way he wants to be seen.

Everyone has these different views of Itachi, and the only thing we actually know about him, is what we see from Sasuke's point of view (well, aside from the few battle scenes we see) But really... you can ask any of my siblings what kind of person I'm like, and you'll get a different response from each of them. And I agree, I mean, Sasuke has always been a very bright boy, but still, he's always going to be clouded by the vision of who Itachi is to him, and that opinion has been affected by many, many things. Never to mind the age gap between them, and the fact that Sasuke hasn't been with Itachi since he was about 8 years old, so the memories he does have of his brother are skewed and... highly affected by the trivialities of a childs mind. And the whole thing with RPing Itachi is... well... everyone interprets him differently (mostly because there's so little we ACTUALLY know about him), so you wind up with different version of the same character. But I do understand what you mean by taking him and seeing what makes him tick xD; Because I totally find that to be one of the most fun things about playing Itachi, because sometimes it's just the most simple, trivial things that can set him off (in my opinion, anyways), and you can wind up having him give off any kind of reaction you'd like, especially since Kishimoto gives us a broad range to deal with (sometimes Itachi ignores what pisses him off... and sometimes he kills the clan, I dunno how much more broadrange you can get then that xD; ). But I totally loved your response, since it pretty much.... epitomized what it is that makes me love RolePlaying as Itachi surprised heart heart heart ~Lyndsay
