She calmed down enough, trying to compose herself, but a foolish grin remained on her lips. Perhaps it was time that she actually met this colt that she would help raise. "Speaking of meeting new Soquili. Shall we go and meet up with your son?"

He shurgged and wondered where the little devil was. "We can try, I am not too sure if he is still with his grandmother at the teepee or if he has run off. We can walk until we run into him." he said thoughtfully. Little did he know that instead of wondering off on his own, the colt had been following him.Rhapsody walked along the river, following his fathers scent and his foot prints. He had been going off on his own quiet a bit and wondered where he always went. The colt stopped as he heard voices up a head. He couldn't make out the voices though.

Ever dipped her head. "So his disappearances are almost as frequent as your own, you would say," she said with a chuckle, completely joking. She followed after him as he made his way across the flat area towards the frozen river before she trotted to catch up pace.
Her blue eyes scanned the area before she caught sight of a bit of pink the distance. It was indeed an interesting shade. "What's that?"

Jazz chuckled and dipped his head a bit. "You think so? And how would you know this?" he said picking at her and nipped playfully at her mane as they walked. He noticed her looking at something in the distance and looked in the direction she was. "What did you see?" he asked before noticing the pink figure in the distance. "Well that was easy." he muttered under his breath knowing that the pink thing was his son who wandered away yet again from his grandmother. "Rhapsody! Now why are't you with your grandmother?" he called sternly to the pink colt.
Rhapsody froze knowing that he had been spotted and looked to his father and some strange red mare that was with him. Now he was in really big trouble and there wasn't any way to get out of this one. Hanging his head, the pink colt reluctantly went to his father.

She chuckled as he retaliated with a n** of his own at her mane. She couldn't help but remember the last time he had wandered away from home where she had literally run right into him. She was just about to tell him so when he started towards the pink colt and scolded him a bit.
She stepped towards Rhapsody, lowering her head to his level and smiling brightly. "Hi. I'm Ever. Your father's been telling me all about you." She'd re-direct from the child being punished to something a bit happier. His misbehavior could be dealt with later. He was safe and that was most important.

Rhapsody's head shot up and he gave a glare at the mare. He wasn't too happy about being caught, nor was he too happy to find his father with this mare. She certainly wasn't his mother since she introduced herself by her name. "What of it?" he said grumpily and pawed at the ground with no real interest.
Jazz gave a nervous chuckle to Ever and then gave his son a stern look. "Now, Rhapsody, behave yourself. That is no way to talk to someone you don't know. Remember what your grandmothers been trying to tell you about being polite." he said to his son hoping the colt would listen to him for once...or atleast in front of Ever.

Ever was definitely taken back by this colt's rude behavior. "No wond..." she stopped herself before she said anything harmful. She stomped a hoof and cast an equal glare right back at him, being a mirror image of Rhap. "You know, you look like this when you do that. Her features smoothed, laughing a bit at her own foalish behavior and ignoring that Jazz was in a condoning mood. "Rhapsody, do you wanna play?"

Rhapsody just continued to stare at her as she made funny faces at him. He didn't care what he looked like to her. She wasn't his mother...or was she? Come to think of it he had never met his mother so she could very well be. The thought of that just made him upset. "No, I do not want to play. I want to know what you two were doing out here, alone. I also want to know that since you were here alone with my father, are you my mother?" he asked beligerantly and waited for an answer from one of them.
Jazz just stood there in shock at what his son had said. Now how the heck had that come into his mind?! Well, that was easily answered since the colt had never met his real mother. But he was still flabbergasted by his sons words and looked to Ever to see her reaction.

She didn't let the shock show on her face. It was strange how young ones could latch to a thought of someone they didn't know. Wasn't Ever sort of doing just that with Jazz? She shook her head and looked towards Jazz for a moment. "You could say I'm a distant relative. I live with my two-legger near the mountains." She turned her attention back to Rhapsody, "Do you have a two-legger?" Hopefully the colt wouldn't turn cold on her again just because she wasn't his mother.

Rhapsody's body eased a bit once he learned she wasn't his mother. for some reason that made him feel better. If she had been he didn't know how he woudl react. He wasn't quite ready to meet with his mother since she had been abscent for most of his life. "I guess if you count my father and grandmother's indian girl as my two-legger." he replied slowly still eying the mare curiously.
Jazz let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding when his son answered a bit nicer than he had before. Atleast Ever was taking it good and not get upset over his shrewedness.

She gave Jazz a quick look before turning her attention back to Rhap. "Well, sometimes Soquili live with two-leggers, like your family and myself. So we don't always get to see one another as much as we'd like." She playfully pulled on the colt's mane, smiling widely as she drew her head back and grabbed Jazz's as well. "Even if we're apart, we're still family."

Rhapsody looked at the mare and gave her a rather confused look. "What are you talking about?" he asked not undertanding what she was trying to get at. "I don't understand what you mean by we're still family. How am I related to you anyway?" he said as she grabbed his mane which was a bit uncomfortable.
Jazz smiled at Ever and nipped at her mane as well. "Well, she is sort of your Aunt in a way. We weren't born brother and sister but sort of became friends and adopted each other. You have another Aunt and an Uncle who are my siblings." Jazz tried to explain to his son.

Her eyes grew sad as he looked between Jazz and Rhaps. She knew what it was like to grow up without a mother or a father. She did not want to let this colt grow up missing any parents. She shook her head, her flaxen mane falling over an eye, "Let's just say that I know what it's like to not have family. To not have a mother or a father. Your father was the first I met who had both."
She looked down at the ground, reliving the shock to have learned that not all Soquilis grew up as she had. That there was such a thing as family. Life wasn't as hard here as where she had grown up. "The least I could be for you is be a friend?"

Rhapsody saw her sad eyes and began to feel bad for being so mean to her. The one thing he couldn't stand was making someone sad or upset. If they argued back, that was another thing but he didn't like to really hurt someone. "I guess we can be friends. If you want you." he mumbled a bit and looked down at the ground. Pawing at the few rocks that were sticking out of the snow.

She smiled and nudged his chin up with her blackened muzzle. Her eyes sparkled with a deeper fire, the windows to her soul. Then glanced to Jazz, it was probably getting late. "I would like that, Rhaps. Perhaps we can play a game of tag later." She pulled on his short mane again, a sign of her affection.
