The_Chaplain I don't particularly like how GW has made ultras out to be the receiver of all the top charas and units (3 special HQs AND 2 units) whereas they couldn't be bothered to give captain shrike a friggin invulnerable save? Whatever, I play DIY marines anyways so the only "special" characters I have are the ones I've converted, painted and whooped much a** with myself. Offhand I don't think any Space Marine Characters have an invunerable save. Which is one of the reasons in my last game with an Ultramarine's friend my Master killed his Master and Tigurius.

Blinks, "Ok, not sure if this has been brought up before or not, but, is it just me or do they delete certain Hero's and upgrade other ones? I have a few Space Marine codex's, so, I kinda took a look, like Captine Cortez is gone from the new codex."

Aun'shi was a great special character from the first Tau codex, but he's dead/retired now, so he's not in the new codex.

Same with the IG codex, they removed Macharius and Nork Deddog. Nork was a pretty character but Macharius was killer in MY opinion. He's more or less replaced by Creed though. Still, I'd have Macharius any time.

Not true: Lysander wears terminator armor (5+ invuln), Cassius is a chaplain and thus has a 4+ invuln. from his Rosarius, and Calgar has the option of taking terminator armor (5+) or artificer armor AND an iron halo, conferring a 4+ invuln. to his character. The only 2 special characters not receiving an invulnerable save in the current codex are Tigurius and Shrike.

I think an invulnerable save is the last thing he needs.

Then again he was listed as dead even in the 3rd edition codex, but they still gave rules for him.

They got rid of Doomrider, and I think Cypher's rules are gone as well. They're not in my Codex, but I heard that there'll be a new model and rules for him in the Dark Angel Codex. I heardthat on this website though, so I dont know if to believe it or not.
I never got to know Doomrider. I assume it's a Night Lord/Undivided Hero on a bike who has super weapons or something. Ugly model though.

Laughs a little, "Well, lucky for me, I play my own marines, and I am kinda comming up with my own creations for a Hero, one is a Librarian with a Jump Pack, (hehe, everyone hates that about me) and I am working on a special Hero, who carries around 2 bolt pistols. Now, I am doing this last bit for fun, and I got the idea from Contra, so, this isn't legal in anyway shape or form, but I though I'd mention it. I'm making 3 soldier's, one with 2 Bolters, one with 1 bolter and oner flamer, and one with 2 flamers. On a side note, Lysander wasnt in Terminator armour in the older codex, and he was a captine in that one, wasn't he?"

Your characters could be legal. You've got 2 hands, you're allowed 2 bolt pistols. The 3 soldiers have a Stormbolter, Combi Flamer and Heavy Flamer, just modelled differently.
Lysander was a Sergeant, I think.

-Mykal Giggles, "you have a Force Weapon moving 12 inch's instead of 6 inches. That's what a Librarian with a jump pack does. A Character with 2 bolt pistols can be legal, but.. it's kinda stupid. As for the 3 soldiers, did you read? It's a Bolter in each hand. Then one bolter and one Flamer, and then finally, 2 flammers. That is totally not legal. And finally, yes Lysander was a sergent."

Then one bolter and one Flamer, and then finally, 2 flammers. That is totally not legal. He read correctly. Your "two-bolters" guy 'counts as' a stormbolter. Your "bolter+flamer" guy 'counts as' a combi-flamer. Your "two-flamers" guy 'counts as' a heavy flamer. See? Similarly, a character with two bolt pistols, in-game, is functionally the same as having bolt pistol and close combat weapon, and can count as such.
