The giant nodded without a word, but he hesitated before actually going in deeper. That would probably be the point where he sank like a rock. He glanced down at the water, and then over at Demyx, looking for some clue as to what to do next.

"Don't worry! I can control water and stuff, nothing bad will happen!"
Giving the most supportive grin he could manage, Demyx once again went over the mechanics of swimming. Now, one would think he'd be good at explaining this sort of thing, buuuut...
"Okay like...if you move your arms, and cut into the water...though it's kinda hard to cut a liquid but I think you get the idea...anyway! Do that, and just pull yourself along with your swimming strokes and well...it's..easier to just try than to have me explain."
It sounded like a joke, but the bright happy smile on the little one's face would say otherwise.

It was a good thing Lexaeus was brighter than he looked, so he was able to understand the instructions despite their babbled method of delivery. He pushed up off his feet and attempted to mimic the smaller one's swimming motions, but with his stoic expression it probably looked rather awkward and silly.

Being the water expert he was, it wasn't long before Demyx was swimming circles around the larger Audio.
"Seeee? It isn't so hard!"
Grinning still, Demyx rolled over onto his back and watched the other swim.

Lexaeus found it really difficult to watch what Demyx was doing while he was swimming in circles, but he was able to pick up a better rhythm and figure out how to kick his feet properly. It was all fine until he started to wonder what would happen when he stopped moving forward.

"... No." Lexaeus said, managing to lift his head above the water just enough to avoid the waves as he plowed on. The swimming wasn't difficult, but the moment he slowed down he started to sink since he hadn't quite figured out how to tread water yet.

Still on his back, Demyx watched the other sink a bit.
"You know you can still swim while staying in place, right? Just move your arms in like..circles..and kick..."
Yeah he really did suck at this explaining thing.

Lexaeus slowed down and tried what Demyx was suggesting, but it didn't work too well before he figured out exactly what kinds of circles the little one had been talking about, and what direction to kick in. Luckily he was quick to find the trick, and only had to hold his breath a little rather than splutter ungracefully.

He hoped at least. Lex wasn't someone he wanted mad at him.
"You'll get better with practice, but just staying afloat is good in the beginning!"
Demyx honestly wasn't thinking about how silly that sounded. Of course staying afloat was good! But to him it was a sign of progress, rather than the obviously desirable outcome.

Lexaeus nodded once, but his attention was first and foremost on keeping himself from sinking. This activity on it's own was like a sort of training exercise, a constant struggle to keep his head above water.

Yes, that'd be bad. Demyx doubted he'd be able to drag Lex back in, though he'd probably be able to use the water itself to push him back in. Still, he'd rather not risk it.

This time Lexaeus shook his head, splashing a bit of water as his muzzle struck a wave. "... I'm not tired." He said in his usual short and simple manner. He started moving again, swimming parallel to the shoreline rather than moving farther out. It would take him awhile to really get the hang of swimming, but he was content to work at it.

Rolling back over, it wasn't long before Demyx was swimming beside the other.
"Whenever you get tired we can go in, just say so kay?"

Lexaeus nodded once, and kept going. He never tired out easily, although after awhile he started to think the second in command must have been naturally buoyant. When it came to activities of strength and endurance, it wasn't often he found one who could keep up with him.
