Aisrhan tried her best to glare at Val, but she just couldn't maintain her venomous gaze when one of her best friends had just transformed before her eyes. Rojiza was beautiful. Ais's eyes widened as a thought crossed her mind: Valelldia did... this? Then, just as quickly: No. The meij did this. It was just Rojiza's turn, that's all. The glare returned.
"And for you, Aisrhan, I have a gift for you and your mother. Will you come to receive it?"
Aisrhan jumped, startled, as the attention was suddenly turned to her. She looked sheepishly at the ground, feeling guilt for openly showing her distrust of the woman everyone she knew loved and adored. "Um..." Aisrhan hesitated, but then moved forward, palm open in a reluctant gesture of good will and acceptance of whatever Valelldia had to offer. "Yes ma'am."

Valelldias eyes were clouded, and she kept all expression from her face as she pulled something from a pinned-up fold in her skirt- her eyes still on Ais as she did so. She sheltered the sight of the thing from prying eyes with those dark fingers which wound around the object distinctively. It was only when her hand was directly above the snake-girl's own upturned palm did she release the gift. It fell, black and compact, a dark chalky residue still brushing the underside of her hand. It was a lump of coal, raw and misshapen. It was with that... that the girl began to glow with a black light. Valelldia did not miss a second, but turned to Silver, her eyes still clouded. "Tonight, you and I have things to attend to, my sister." Her words were scarcely spoken that what remained in the dark, flaming blast of light was a girl- no longer a girl.  Unlike Rojiza, who was meij-blessed as a Lightbringing Teen, Aisrhan... would have to find her way as a Darkbringer.

DeArca was stunned to see these two grow into something...miraculous. He was actually questioning how powerful the mage really was because even though he witnessed Ash's growth, this was almost beyond too incredible to fathom. "Just look at them, Ash. They've changed" He said. Ash clapped his hands, giggling some, especially at his friend Rojiza who grew even more beautiful.

Aisrhan was puzzled as Valelldia dropped a lump of coal into her palm. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words would come as she felt the meij course through her, pouring from the very center of her being; dark, frightening, yet so... inviting. The darkness grew stronger as she felt the power of this shadowy side of the meij pulling at her body, transforming it with a black, fiery light. Then it was over. She felt so... alive. Invigorated. Powerful. Her eyes shone as she grinned at Val, a malicious, fang-showing grin that made Silver shudder. "Thhank you, Misss Valelldia," she hissed. Her daughter was beautiful, simply breathtaking, but now, Silver knew, she was also dangerous. Aisrhan's mother looked up to Valelldia with sadness in her eyes where joy should have been. "Yes, we do."

Rojiza had turned away from Caroline just in time to witness Aisrhan's transformation. She stares, openmouthed, at the black light and then at her friend, so beautifully transformed. She wants to run forward and embrace her friend, but catches a sense of sadness. Aisrhan had been taken by darkness, she realizes.
Rojiza wrestles with this in herself, and decides to wait until Silver had had a chance to take her daughter into her arms. She can't help but smile, though, at Aisrhan's beautiful new shape.

[Sorry for not being around or posting]
Standing up and leaving her mother's side, Anezka walked over towards Valelldia and joined her two friends. She had always loved Val and grown to trust her, but something in her voice made the rabbit-child unsure and curious. Clasping her hands behind her back, she began to twiddle her fingers as she waited.

Valelldia gave a soft nod to Irina, who still waited. "I am sorry, sister," she said softly, "I will attend to the girl, and then I have a favor to ask of you." She gave little Kal a smile as well.
"Anezka," she started, then, once she'd attended to the matter of Irina and her children, "I have something for you, as well. ...Would you please bring me one of your banyas? It is something that the meij wishes."

Valelldia moved on to deal with Irina and Aisrhan turned to rejoin her mother. Ais realized Rojiza was smiling at her and winked as she slithered past. Silver forced a smile as her daughter returned to her. "Congratulations, baby. You look wonderful." She brushed back a strand of Aisrhan's hair and noticed that her once adorable little black wings had become tattered, almost skeletal things protruding from her back, twisted by the darkness. Silver couldn't stop herself from wondering how they would have looked if Aisrhan had been taken in by the light instead.
"What's wrong mom?" Aisrhan's own eyes glinted a hint of irritation as she realized her mother's were almost tearful. What on earth is she upset about? "Nothing, hon. I'm just so happy for you, that's all." Silver forced an even bigger smile and pulled Aisrhan into a tight embrace, hoping the girl wouldn't notice the sorrow and fear behind her words. "Why don't you go talk to Rojiza? I'm sure she wants to see you."
"Mm." Ais nodded.

Rojiza had giggled quietly when Ais had winked at her. She knows it's childish, and she's beyond that now, but it had bubbled out. Today is gleeful! She glances at her mother, knowing exactly what she's thinking about. Rojiza is wondering it herself. Had her growth won her the ability to speak? She sighs a bit and thinks it best not to hope. She is here, she is rather pretty--the Meij had blessed her in that respect--and she isn't going to spoil it.

Aisrhan took a moment to hold her brother before going over to Rojiza. Khevashi grasped Aisrhan's finger with one hand and giggled as he pointed at her wings. Aisrhan knew their mother didn't find their appearance nearly as amusing. For a split moment, however, as she was watching her children together, Silver could've sworn that she saw her daughter's wings full and beautiful sprouting from her back and her eyes widened; but then it faded and she knew that was how Khevashi saw her, not how she was. He had merely projected the illusion to his mother. Aisrhan could do no wrong in his eyes. She was his sister.
Aisrhan did her best to sneak up behind Rojiza, but she knew she hadn't quite mastered stealth yet. She flinched when she accidentally shook the new rattle on her tail. Aisrhan whispered, grinning at her friend, "Do you think Ani's next?"

Rojiza jumps lightly, but not much. She smiles at her friend and nods, looking toward Anezka. The three of them hadn't played much together as children, but somehow she felt they were a trio of sorts.
Gingerly she touches Ais' wings. She remembers seeing Ais' and Ani's wings and being jealous--wanting a set of her own. She's complete fine without them, though, but she smiles at Ais anyway.
You are beautiful. She wants to say aloud.
For she is. Aisrhan had grown up just as lovely as Rojiza herself had, only in a different way.

Aisrhan saw the look in Rojiza's eyes and and laughed. She had grown accustomed to interpreting the girl's expressions. "You look pretty awesome yourself, you know." Ais poked Ro in the shoulder playfully. "Can you not speak yet?"

Rojiza blushes at the sincere compliment from her friend and shrugs at the question. She doesn't know. She doesn't want to try and risk being disappointed.
Ro doesn't feel any different, though. She's afraid to try because she's afraid that she'll still be mute.
Ro tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear. She's still getting used to this new, taller, bigger body. It's very much hers, but at the same time, a little bit not.
Caroline is...close to tears as she watches Ro and Ais. She swishes over to Silver, who looks very troubled. And Caroline can guess why. "Be happy for your daughter tonight," she says with a smile and a nudge to Silver's shoulder. "There will be plenty of time to worry later, and a ceremony is no time to be preoccupied with the future."
She herself has her own worries. Why wasn't Rojiza talking yet? Somehow she'd thought when she grew...

Rojiza just shrugged at her question and Aisrhan wondered if Ro was embarrased that she couldn't speak. "Aw, it's okay, Ro. It'll come eventually."
Silver considered the other woman's words for a moment. "You're right, Caroline," she said. "Thank you." She looked up at her daughter and smiled as she finally let herself feel proud of the girl Aisrhan had become. Khevashi cooed and Silver lifted his hand to help him wave at his sister. "That's right babe, isn't your big sis pretty?"

Leax cradled both Vanna and Lorelei in his arms, Vanna in his lap and Lorelei resting her head on his shoulder. He stroked Lorelei's still-blonde hair, gently, as he watched the transformations. He smiled, though he did not know these people. He was used to these changes, and was merely glad that they had happened.
Vanna, meanwhile, stared and clapped as Rojiza grew into a teenager. But when Aisrhan stepped forward, she hid her head against Leax's chest and wouldn't look for a long moment. When she peeked again, she saw the fangs, the longer, more powerful tail, and squeaked a little. "Dadda!" she whimpered. Then, "Mama!" And she buried her face against the both of them again.
Lorelei held her daughter, turning her head in Leax's direction. "What's happened?" she murmured.
"Two of the children have changed - Rojiza and Aisrhan, I believe their names were."
"Oh." She smiles, faintly. "I am happy for them... But is Vanna scared of Aisrhan?"
"Mama!" Vanna whimpered.
