The chopper wasn't really going to survive much more... especially not another gout of flame like the dragon had been blowing at them this entire time. The body began to warp, the blades started making noise as they heated up; despite the wonderful air-cooling system that it was accidentally designed with.

Abandoning ship would probably be the best course of action... but the Captain always goes down with the ship.

The helicopter circled around the fountain once; dropping in lower to the ground as it lost altitude from the damage it had sustained. If it was going down, it was going to at least go down in a blaze of glory... or glory and fire... or glory and fire and shrapnel.

"MOTHER [beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep]!"

...James wasn't a Captain, no way he was going down with this thing. As the remnants of the helicopter finally succumbed to gravity, James took his own advice and got the hell out of there; backflopping straight into the center of the Barton Fountain with a catastrophic splash.

The copter wasn't so lucky. It faceplanted. On a dragon.

Disa's jaw dropped. Now she had to wait and hope the damn dragon flashed her a nice view of its chest so she could figure out where it's weak point was. Oh well. She pulled out her bow and an arrow and notched said arrow, aiming at the dragon and ready to follow its movement.

Who knows, maybe she'd get lucky and the beast would actually flash her its weak point.

If it was a giant chicken, blood and feathers would have gotten everywhere.

It wasn't a chicken, it was a dragon. The rotors did quite a number, hacking away at scales, cutting through at places and even digging into muscle. The dragon screamed in pain as the thing exploded (of course), burning explosed dragon flesh.

Burning dragon flesh don't smell so good.

So, what we have here is a burned-up dragon, unable to put any weight on its front legs, unable to fly, and its face so ******** up that it can't even open its eyes--or use them, even if they were open.

'Course, James Black couldn't be in good shape, jumping from that height and backflopping into a shallow fountain.

Oh, not a chance... While the helicopter had risen to the height of the rooftops initially, after the dragon's first pass it had dropped down lower; even more so with the damage it had sustained causing it to lose altitude uncontrollably. It had really been much more of a controlled fall than actually flying... but it certainly did the trick.

At the time James jumped the copter was roughly twenty to twenty-five feet off the ground... but shallow water really was a b***h for a landing.

He'd be spending the remainder of this turn laying in the fountain muttering "ow" under his breath, because... damn. That just hurt everywhere.

Disa really hoped her fearless leader was going to be ok without any healing and she was also waiting for the dragon to move and the sun to strike his pretty chest and hopefully expose a weak point.

(( Dinner, back in a few. ))

James' next turn would be spent using the lip of the fountain as cover if the dragon tried to breathe fire.

He'd pull off the black glove on his right hand, exposing the mark he'd gotten to use the marbles on the back of his hand; switching the Dasher marble for the Defender marble. Because a little extra VIT right now might make him feel a bit less like jelly.

In its current state, the dragon's front was a walking weakpoint.

In its fury, it shot fire every which way, shaking its head about wildly, standing on its hind legs like a begging dog. The lip of the fountain provided James with sufficient protection, but every once in a while the heat of the flames would lap at his head.

((Woo! Alone with the dragon! Bring it on overgrown lizard.))

Disa would take aim at the new giant weak point on the terrible beastie's front and fire off an arrow. Arrow launched, she would repeat the notching process and take aim again.

The beast reared back, roaring in pain, then released a blast of fire in Disa's general direction, unable to actually see anything.

Oh dear gods help her. Disa immediately dropped below the rim of that little section of wall at the top of the building to await the end of the fire stream. Poor Fluffy was cowering in a ball on the rooftop next to her.

Once the fire stream stopped, she would rise and take aim in the general area of the chest where the heart should be and she'd fire off another arrow.

Okay... a bit of time to gather himself was certainly making him feel better. Not any less like he'd just fallen from a helicopter into a pool of water, but like it was a deeper pool.

Fortunately, modern technology was a pretty nice thing. Despite that he was soaked to the bone, the majority of his equipment was still fine. So, the first two things to come out of his coat pockets were:

1x pistol
1x ammunition clip

Combine, chamber a round, and use the lip of the fountain for a stable base to rest his arm on while firing. Three rounds, as best he could towards the lacerations on the dragon's face. With the way it was shrieking a round into the roof of the mouth would have been possible... but James wasn't a marksman. He could shoot straight, but that was pretty much the extent of his ability in that department.

And stop the flame did, but the section of wall near where she was hiding had caught fire, and if the fire spread with her on the rooftop--well, hopefully she was good at roof hopping.

[Addendum]

The dragon screeched an ungodly screech, swaying back and forth before collapsing on its side. It's legs jittered, and its arms waved about impotently--it was down, but not out.

Oh fuxxors. The roof of the building had caught fire. Well, she wasn't an expert at roof hopping, but seriously, why do that when all she had to do was run back across the roof to the door onto the roof, through the door, down the stairs, and out the building. Seriously, fire didn't spread that fast in buildings these days.

So she grabbed her bow and she and Fluffy fled the roof, back into the stairwell and started heading down.

A feeling of weakness overcomes you. It's not the same as when you simply lose your marble: it's actually not quite as bad. Either way, while you feel able to move all right, you seem to have lost all ability to put out any actual strength, per say. Heck, you probably couldn't even aim a gun right now.

Oh, the irony...

Everything hurt again. Stupid marble was a defect...

Setting the gun on the edge of the fountain so that it wouldn't get wet again, he slumped down against the edge and switched the marble back to the original one. As far as the dud went, he pocketed it. Maybe that guy at the institute would want to see it...

The accessory flares, flares again, then... vanishes.

This gave the dragon just enough time to roll onto its belly, thrust its hindlegs forward and, with minimal help from its front and wings, hoist itself up onto its feet. It "looked" around, an instinct from when it had eyes. It's hearing wasn't exactly sharp, but it could hear if anything loud approached it.

((Edit: Oh, I see.))
