It took only Seto one look at the boy to tell how he was. "Your talon of the grphon scum...the gate belongs to use, leave or I will take action." He said, he didn't even have to tell Ming to stand her ground at the boy, she smelt the scent she had learned long ago. Her body was tensed an almost into a pounce just wating for the nod from Her rider to pounce.

Tamwyn narrowed his eyes, bursting with the urge to land a punch on the man's cheek. But it wasn't his place, so he did nothing. He turned to the girl standing infront of him, glaring angrilly. "He is my gryphon. You have no right to take him from me," he growled. He glanced nervously at the large red gryphon standing next to her, taking a step back. Rain was furious at the man. "You have done an awful job of taking care of it. The poor little creature is in need of some proper treatment. I'm taking him out of your hands," snapped Rain, scooping up the chick in her arms, tickling it under the chin. The chick peeped lovingly, closing its eyes.

Seto turned his attenction to rain. "And am takeing it off your hands..." He said as his hand stared slowly to his leg were he had a knife hid. He then stoped when he saw Ming. She was still ready to pounce the boy. His hand moved slowly to his absolent's neck were he lightly patted it. Ming had learn to hate the Talon of the gryphon when she was young, this boy recked of there scent, the chick didn't really havet the scent so she paided it little intrest.

"You shall not take this chick from me," hissed Rain to Seto, clutching the chick to her breast. Asriel screamed his battle cry, standing protectively infront of Rain, raising his wings and extending his claws. Rain leaped up onto Aleraya's back, urging the great blue into a ready stance. The chick peeped loudly, hooking its talons into Rain's jacket. Tamwyn growled under his breath, taking out his knife to face Ming-Ming.

Ming's eyes drifted toward the boy, she could handle him, just that big red grphon how she hated, she was not big enough nor strong enough to take them all at once. Seto closed his eyes a moment to think when he opend them again they were cold. "You made your choice, I gave you a smiple way out, the others will handle you..." He said as he pushed Ming to turn to the right, "Boy...best leave before a bigger Gryphon of the wing finds you...it will not be your best day..." He said. As Ming turned to walk away she hit boys hand holding the knife hard as she walked indicating this was not over.

((Application Gaia name: Poetical Rain (roleplays Abaddon), Arctic Vixen (roleplays Balsem) Rp name: Balsem Age: 34 Group: Passing through; will probably work for Talon of the Gryphon Gryphon: Abaddon Appreance: Tall and thin. Beautiful, short and thick blood-red hair, with a shock of white running down the middle. He looks about 10 years younger than he is. Having lost one hand in a 'work-related injury', his right arm is stronger than his left as that arm is the one he uses to wield swords, guns, and the like. His eyes are a green-ish yellow, changing slightly with mood. Bio: His motives are all over the board, whether true or not. He sticks close to very few, and those who he does stick close to...are normally killed or double-crossed, most often by him. He has a sick sense of loyalty, deeming those who can dent him worthy of his attention...and then worthy of his wrath. Not much else is known about this individual - he claims to be a 'trader', but few have seen or heard of him. The relationship with his current partner is somewhat of a mystery.))

((*Abaddon color, *Balsem's color))
He had not the slightest idea why the human had wanted to come to this part of the city. Work perhaps, having to fulfill duties to his "trade." In the very least, the boy could have fed him something before heading down the streets. He was hungry again...though, 'again' was an altering phrase for the black creature; he was always ravenously famished. The previous evening had seen him consuming an entire steer and a sheep or two from the farms surrounding the main city, but already the hunger pangs were back.
The constant malnourishment showed in the gryphon's body - his powerful chest and ribcage collapsed into a sleek, but almost starved-looking abdomen. For a creature of his hulking size, Abaddon was unnaturally thin, but also strange-looking for a gryphon in general. He was built more like a lion or panther, lacking the taloned forelegs of the rest of his breed. Yet his massive wings and long, arrow-like bird's head betrayed his pedigree.
The cruel beak turned to look once again at the human male, a low rumble building in his chest. His yellow eyes, telling of a much more ghastly nature than that of the living, burned on ahead after a moment, searching for prey. If he didn't get to eat soon, the human would do.
He felt like something feathery tonight, however. And he smelled an appetizer, perhaps, very close by....
~~~~~~~~~~
Balsem shoved a hand - technically, his only hand - into the pocket of his coat, whistling a light tune as he walked along. The beast was in front of him, and kept looking back to let the human know of his hunger. Yes, yes, he knew - no need to get all upset, as Balsem did infact need his other hand. The seemingly useless task of wandering aound really did have a purpose, though Abaddon clearly didn't think so - Balsem needed new clients. And it was amazing what a few glances could tell you about potential buyers.
After the second or third glance, though, the man stopped, sighing with..what sounded like boredom.
"Alright, alright...I need a show anyway. I smell griffin, which means that you smelled it ages ago - if you want it, go get it. Leave a feather or two, will you?" he said, waving his hand dismissively.
~~~~~~~~~~~
The ghostly eyes continued to watch the human for a few seconds, and the waving appendage. The human ought to be careful how he spoke around the beast, lest he wished to lose his dexterity completely.
Sweeping back around, his low rumble grew into a feral growl as he quickened his pace. One...three...four. He smelled a grown female, the largest potential threat, but then he also caught scent of one not far out of chickhood. Many choices, tonight, as Abaddon tasted the stench of humans as well.
He stopped when he caught sight of them, and by all appearances, settled to see if any of the large group would take notice of him. And, if they did - most of his kind would sense his darkness from several hundred feet away - would they flee?
Hunting was always much more of a thrill when the prey ran.

Aleraya screamed a warning, leaping into the air with a powerful thrust of her wings. Rain clung to the beasts neck, unaware of the sudden danger. Asriel quickly followed, beating his wings heavily. He didn't usually feel fear, but in this particular instance, he did. The enourmas gryphon scared him more than he thought he could be scared. Aleraya zoomed off, Rain checking back to se if the gryphon was following.

A screech and a flurry of activity, the racing heartbeat of another paralyzed victim. Ah, Balsem loved all the fun that came with Abaddon's hunting. Rather than hurrying to witness it, though, he simply kept walking along, humming softly....it was a good few minutes before he saw them all. Only three left now, though. Hmm. He could have sworn there were more.
Ah, well.
He waved cheerfully at the griffin and its owner, staying enough away from Abaddon so any sudden spilling of blood would not soil his clothing. The bird might just end up toying with them, he thought...but then, where would the fun in that be? The ultimate fun, that is. He knew just as well as Abaddon the joy of that last pounce, that moment when your prey becomes truly yours. Of course, the realization that there was no more prey always left him a bit irked...but then he could just hunt again! As Abaddon often did within a few moments time. Sadly, Balsem didn't often have that luxury. His prey came few and far between.
His fault for being picky, he supposed.
The man crossed his arms, smiling and cocking a head slightly at the scene. Browsing for business could wait.
~~~~~~~~~
Four took flight, 3 remained on the ground, frozen in the terror he had brought up on them.
Would he enjoy an easy meal, or feel the bestial pleasures of the hunt and go after something bigger? That blue female who had just shot into the air, followed by the smaller red one, taking a human and a newborn chick with them....They would certainly taste better in the least. He hated the metallic flavor of human blood, and that was what the easier prey was made of, mostly.
The Destroyer would give his wings a stretch before he ate. Standing, he bellowed; again unlike others of his kind, his cry was terrible and more like the lion's roar than the eagle's scream. Wings unfurling, the black brute reared onto his hind legs, and with a kicking leap was airborne, his bloodlust growing with each pump of his wings.
"He's following," murmured Rain, fear consuming her. Aleraya, in answer, sped up, her enourmas wings beating. She too, was scared. She had never seen such a gryphon before. If she had to, she would face it, even though she was quite a bit smaller. But protecting her mistress was the most important thing to do right then, so she would fly on. Torak peeped, burrowing into the crook of Rain's arm, shivering. Rain stroked his head, looking over at Asriel. The great red was flying unevenly, one of his legs held in a wierd way. Asriel had gotten injured with the short fight with the white female. Any handicaps against might prove fatal, in this situation.
Seto sighed and thought of going away when his consinues came in. "She did heal me...and that chick is worth more then we might think..." He sighed again and climbed onto her back. "Come on, just speed it up, don't look it in the eyes, that's were all the fear come from." He said to her as he stroked her head.
Ming almost did a jump at her rider's wish. SHe clacked her beak a little afrid. She had never meet a monsture like that and she had wrested with bigger gryphons that were monstors to her. She picked up her body slowly off the ground then started to flap after them, she stayed as quite as she could not wanting to start a fight straight off since she was still smaller then that evil one. She made a battle cry as Seto tapped her neck which she learned to try and intimidate the other gryphons which usally work.
