What Exactly Did You Bring Home?Caitlyn gets to meet Demetrius...mistalina13 Mistalina sat sideways on the couch, feet pulled up into an 'indian style' position as she leaned forward, forearms resting on the arm of the couch. The position was slightly uncomfortable, due to her swollen stomach, but the massage she was getting more than made up for it. "Mmm..." The black haired tiefling practically purred with pleasure. Her headwings folded in and her tail hung over the couch, twitching side to side, like a playful felines. "...more please...and a bit higher..." She shifted her shoulders slightly as strong hands worked the tension of the muscles in her shoulders and her back. "Yes, Mistress." The young man giving her the massage obliged, mostly eagerly, he was delighted to see her pleased. He was a persacom, built to do many things, mainly technical things, which this particular model wasn't too good at. He was more suited to being a house boy."Thank you, Demetrius." She glanced back at the persacom for a moment. "That's enough for now." He drew back his hands immediantly and smiled. "Your welcome." Ever mindful of their owners, always polite. More perks of the persacoms.Mistalina sat up for a moment, then layed back against Demetrius before idly reaching up to fiddle with the ends of his shoulder length wavy hair. "This is okay, right, I'm not too heavy or anything?" The persacom cradled her as she went to lay back, then his arms fell away. "No, Mistress." He wouldn't even have noticed her playing with his hair. That was their major flaw, persacoms lacked any sort of humanity. The tiefling looked up at him. "You can hold me, if you like, Demetrius." The statement seemed to confuse him, he returned her look, a puzzled expression on his face. She carefully picked up one of his hands, and brought it up to rest on her belly, just below her bosom, then did the same with the other. "Hold me." She looked up into his eyes again as she spoke, wondering if it was possible to teach a persacom anything? Caitlyn Hellstorm Caitlyn was exhausted because she was out doing some random jobs so she could rake in some money for the babies. She is wearing her skin-tight black pants and black blouse with silver scarf tied loosely around her waist and the katana draped over her back. She walks up the pathway that leads toward the front door, feeling like she is ready for some kind of shock of her life. The red-haired tiefling flutters her wings in annoyance as she pushes the door open and blinks at the sight that is right there in front of her. "Mistalina.. what the hell..? Who is this guy?" She says with tightly-constrained voice. mistalina13 Mistalina frowned, moved the persacom's hands and sat up. "Caitlyn, this is Demetrius. Demetrius, this is Caitlyn, the twin's other parent." She motioned toward the angered red head. Demetrius turned to regard the Caitlyn, beind mindful not to bump into Mistalina. He nodded in understand, then smiled. "Nice to meet you." His voice was calm and sensual. He was neatly dressed in a black button three-quarter sleeve down shirt and black slacks. His deep golden yellow coat and ornate belt were laying over the top of the couch, while his leather calf boots stood next to the couch side. She leaned over and gave him a little kiss on the cheek, to thank him for his concern, a little sad that he wouldn't understand the gesture, before brushing back his hair away from his 'ears'. "He's a persacom." The red head would probably think him a mere toy for her, she could think what she wanted. The corner of his mouth turned up in a smile when he 'felt' her kiss. He kept his eyes on Caitlyn, as he was unsure of her and her relationship with his Mistress.Caitlyn Hellstorm Caitlyn's tail swishes back and forth in sheer annoyance as she narrows her eyes when she crosses her arms. She just merely grunts as she slowly makes her way toward them. "Enchanted." She says in frosty voice toward Demetrius. "Let her go..now.." She murmurs as she shifts her eyes toward Mistalina. "Where did you find him.. at strip bar?" She says with sarcasm heavy in her voice. mistalina13 "He only listens to me, Caitlyn, and for your information I ordered him from a catalogue. Quite handsome don't you think?" Mistalina smirked and leaned against the persacom, knowing her behavior would only irk the red head further. Demetrius protectively put an arm around the black haired tiefling. "I only do as she asks, and protect her." He said simply, not entirely unaware of her anger, but it was not in his programming to act before being openly threatened.Caitlyn Hellstorm Caitlyn stares at the man as her eye twitches slightly. "Urgh.. you were supposed to be saving the money for the babies.. not throwing them away on that kind of thing." She spat the words out angrily as she slowly moves around behind the personcom and whispers in his ear with silky and dangerous voice. "Sleep with one eye open or you will find yourself disconnected and your body parts scattered all over the world." mistalina13 "I was paid well when I worked Caitlyn, besides he's good at house work is good with children." Mistalina's gaze followed Caitlyn as she walked around the other side of the couch. "It's not like it will have anything to do with you anyway. Remember our agreement?" Her eyes narrowed, and a hint of venom crept into her voice. Demetrius didn't budge; His arm was still around Mistalina, his programming was telling him that was a threat, but he would risk his Mistress' safety if he did anything about it now. "I don't require sleep."Caitlyn Hellstorm Caitlyn frowns deeply at Mistalina disapprovingly as she rolls her eyes. "Sheesh. I don't trust those kind of machines." She shot Demetrius a stare that is full of disdain. "They could malfunction and go on killing spree or burn the house down" She tries to keep her voice calm as she moves away from those two. "But you do require rest or recharge, Demetrius" mistalina13 "You won't touch him Caitlyn." The black haired tiefling was annoyed with her companion. Part annoyance, part hormones more than likely. She sighed softly, wanting nothing more than to ignore the red head until her bout of temper passed. Demetrius rubbed Mistalina's arm lightly, he was programmed to keep his Mistress happy and could quite easily tell when she was feeling otherwise. "Perhaps Mistress would like another massage?" To the observer, it might seem like he cared, but it was just obeying programming.Caitlyn Hellstorm Caitlyn rolls her eyes as she looks at Mistalina. "Well.. he is your property so I will respect that... for now." She murmurs softly as she watches Demetrius with her tail swishing back and forth agitatedly. She just sighs softly as she rolls her eyes once again. "Mistalina.. all you had to do is ask if you needed something and I would get it." She eyes the personacom balefully before she stalks into the kitchen mumbling in her native language. mistalina13 "Mítho orch!" Mistalina hissed to herself, and her gaze flicked to the persacom. "Please." Demetrius smiled, helped her get settled on the couch and massaged her shoulders again.Mítho orch! - Sindarin for 'Go Kiss An Orc!'

Welcoming the twins into the world.. but Separation.. Mistalina goes into labor and gave birth to boys; But Caitlyn immediately took her son away.
It was a very nice and sunny day but something is going to happen at the household. Caitlyn paces back and forth in the living room of the house she shares with Mistalina. She have been contiunally growing more agiated because Mistalina discovered a persacom and pretty much chucked her away unless its about pregnancy or doctor check ups. She groans in frustration. "Damnit.." Caitlyn really hates the feeling of being left out of the pregnancy and helpless along with the feeling of being useless ever since that cursed persoacom came along.
Mistalina sat on the bed in her room, in the best cross legged position that she could manage while Demetrius rubbed her shoulders. "Mm...thank you." She stretched her arms and relaxed her shoulders more.
Demetrius sat behind her, carefully rubbing her shoulders and upper back. "Your welcome, Mistress." He smiled and nuzzled her hair. Mistalina had been teaching him to act more personable and apparently it had been going well.
Caitlyn grumbles more as she stalks upstair to the nursery with her wings fluttering agiatedly. "That stupid persacom.. I swear to god I am going to..." She dissolves into unintelligible angry mumbling. She slumps in the rocking chair and looks around at the nursery. Subconsiciously, she pulls the stuffed tiger into her arms and sighs, suddenly feeling helpless and miserable. Her eyes wells up with the tears which she angrily brushes away with back of her hand, grumbling softly. "Hellstorm don't cry.... and I certainly will NOT cry.." She mutters to herself.
Mistalina sat there for a few more moments, looking at the pattern on the blankets underneath her. "Enough Demetrius..." She spoke quietly, and pulled away from the persacom's hands, starting to climb off the bed.
Demetrius drew his hands back, then went to help her stand. She put one foot on the floor and winced.
A sharp pain had suddenly caught her in the back. She froze for a moment, then put a hand to her belly. "Go get Caitlyn."
The persacom nodded and rushed off to find the red head.
Caitlyn was hugging the stuffed bear for who k nows how long before she jumps slightly when the persoacom rushed in the nursery. She shot him a very dangerous and venomous glare. "What now?" She mutters at Demetrius annoyedly because he have walked in when she was in her vulnerable stage which she certainly doesn't want anybody to see.
"Mistress, needs your help. It's about the children..." Demetrius stood there, seeming a little puzzled. There were a lot of things he didn't understand still, babies being one of them.
Caitlyn arches her eyebrow before she shakes her head in visible defeat. "Lead me to her." She stiffly says as she stands up, waiting for him to lead her to Mistalina. Caitlyn crosses her arms as she sighs softly, silently hoping its not labor but there is a nagging feeling in pit of her stomach that she is going to see her children sooner than expected.
"She's in her bedroom." Demetrius turned back and headed back to his Mistress' bedroom.
Mistalina was sitting on the edge of the bed, with her eyes closed breathing slowly and trying to tune out the pain. The twins wanted out...finally.
Caitlyn arches her eyebrow when she arrives, she could see that her partner is in the pain. "Well well.. finally you are in labor uh?" She scathingly says before the notion that the babies are coming finally dawned upon her. "Oh crap..." She mutters to herself. "Demetrius.. get the car ready. The babies are coming." She barked the orders at Demetrius as she rushes around to gather things up to bring to the hosptail with her so Mistalina will have things to wear or use after she give birth.
"Car? Mistress hasn't taught me about that...." Demetrius looked nervous. "I don't drive Cait, remember?" Mistalina's eyes snapped open. "Yes, I am. And I'd appreciate that it end as soon as possible."
Caitlyn glances at Demetrius in surprised yet annoyed manner. "Oi.. just carry Mistalina to the car.. and Mistalina.. remember to do the breathing.. I will be back with the car." She tries her best not to snap at anybody as spun around and ran outside to the car, turning it on.
"Oh man.. oh man.. I am NOT ready..for this" She hisses to herself, trying her best not to panic. She takes in deep breath and drives up to the front of the house. She really laid onto the horn with her hand, wanting to show them that she is not going to change just because Mistalina is finally going into the labor without even a warning. How Considerable of Mistalina.. She fumes to herself.
Demetrius sighed and carefully picked up his Mistress from the bed, cradling him against her. Weight made no difference to him, since he was machiene after all. It was an easy thing to carry her down the stairs carefully. "I wish she had a little patience. If I rush too much, you could get hurt."
Mistalina had an arm around the persacom's neck, and her other hand rested on her belly. "Please, rush a little at least, this does h-hHURT." She winced again.
Caitlyn watches Demetrius appear in the front door. "COME ON!!!!" She screeches as she opens the back door. "Hurry up!! we need to go to hosptial like.. right now!" She impatiently says as she drums her fingers on the steering wheel."Demetrius.. I know you can move faster than that." She frowns disapprovingly but she couldn't help but to feel a sudden surge of gradutitude toward Demetrius for helping her out during this time.
Demetrius reached back with a foot to pull the door shut, when a pink flash zoomed through it just in time before it started to close. He shook his head and started to walk to the car at a quickened pace.
"I'm coming too!" Shidiomi slid in the backseat to the far side to help Demetrius get his Momma in.
Mistalina climbed carefully into the car and the persacom after her, and he closed the door.
Caitlyn couldn't help but to smile at Shidiomi. "Behave yourself, boyo.." She pulls out of the driveway and pretty much sped toward the hospital while calling ahead of the tiem to let them know that she is coming in with Mistalina.
After 15 minutes of driving, they finally arrived and the nurses swarmed around Mistalina, ushering her toward the delivery room. Caitlyn crinkles her nose up slightly as she is being ushered to the waiting room along with Demetrius and Shidiomi so she just resigned herself to plunkng down on the comfortable couch and wait.
Mistalina disapeared with her nurses, leaving the persacom and Shidiomi with Caitlyn. Shidiomi looked up at Caitlyn, his deep purple eyes seeming rather worried and his feline tail twitched back and forth uncertainly. "Will Momma be okay?"
Caitlyn looks down at Shindiomi when he spoke to her and smiles slightly, not sure how to answer that question because there is so many possiblities that it could go wrong. "But of course, Momma will be ok! Soon you will be a big brother to twins." She grins at him reassuringly. "Be very excited about that." She ruffles his hair playfully.
Shidiomi smiled, his ears flattening though in a pleasant way when his hair was ruffled and he made a sort near purring noise. "Yeah."
Demetrius stood their next to them silently, feeling oddly, useless.
Caitlyn chuckles as she picks Shidiomi up and looks at him when she places him on her lap. "She will be fine.. I promise you." She murmurs as her wings flutters lightly in almost agaited/worried manner.. She glances at Demetrius.
"Think you could get us food or drinks or do you only take orders from Mistalina?" Her voice have a hint of sarcasm in it because she remembered how many times she have been trying to get Demetrius to leave or get something that will make him stay away for long time but he plainly refused to do so.
"I can." Demetrius frowned slightly. "Why are you so bitter toward me?" From what Mistalina had taught him, he'd started to learn to notice little things, like tone of voice and expressions more fully.
"Just get us the food and drinks. I am sure the child here is hungry and thirsty." Caitlyn stiffly says as she turns her head away from Demetrius which is an obivious sign that he is dismissed from her company.
But when she turned her head away, she felt this sudden pang of guilt and sadness because of the way she treated Demetrius ever since he arrived. Its not his fault that he is a robot and had to be delievered to this house where there is a hositle tiefling waiting to rip it apart.
Demetrius frowned and went off to get food.
Shidiomi squirmed to get down from Cailyn's arms, he didn't like to be held for long now. "You shouldn't be so mean to him, he doesn't understand."
Caitlyn shrugs as she looks at Shidiomi. "I just don't like him, sweetheart. But in due time.. I might will tolerate him." She pulls out the stick of bubble gum and pops it in, chewing on it thoughtfully.
She blows a bubble before she sucks it back in, popping it in her mouth watching Shidiomi knowing that he was about to say something that she wouldn't like to be reminded of.
"Momma says you aren't staying around. So, why worry?" Shidiomi sat down on a bench along the side of the hall, swinging his feet. Mistalina had explained to him a while back about what was going to happen once the twins were born.
Caitlyn raises her eyebrow before she chuckles. "I will still stick around so I will get to know another baby. But I don't like the thought of having a robot around the babies.." She crinkles her nose up slightly as she shrugs once again.
She sighs to herself mentally as she tries her best not to roll her eyes and she grunts. "Plus I think its important for me to get along with your Momma for your and babies' sake.. don't you think so?"
"Demetrius is nice, he wouldn't hurt us...he plays with me all the time and helps Momma too." The catboy looked at the floor and rested his hands on the bench edge, waiting for Demetrius to come back. "That's between you and Momma."
After a few moments the persacom did return, with a snack and drink for each of them. He handed one set to Shidiomi and the other to Caitlyn before going to the side of the bench the catboy was on and leaned against the wall.
Caitlyn just merely shrugs at the catboy. "Well... It's just my opinion so... maybe I am wrong but I need to learn that on my own." She murmurs as she glances at Demetrius warily.
She murmurs her thanks before she began to chow down on the sandwich waiting for the doctor to come back to let them know the update on Mistalina and the babies. She takes a sip of the fizzy pop and watches Shidiomi and Demetrius with resigned expression on her face.
Demetrius looked toward the floor and didn't speak, he knew when he wasn't wanted around, but he had nowhere else to go.
Shidiomi inched toward the persacom and leaned against him. Even if he wasn't real, Demetrius was still his friend, and kind of like another parent....sort of anyway.
Caitlyn sighs as she rubs her forehead before she sees the doctor coming toward them. She suddenly stands up and looks at the doctor expecantly. "So..... hows the mother and babies?"
She eyes the doctor warily, not wanting to hear the bad news. She will definitely go on the ramapage if one of the children died or Mistalina dies in the childbirth.
The doctor smiled at Caitlyn then at the small family with almost a proud expression on his face. "Mistalina is doing wonderfully and congratulations, Caitlyn. You are a proud mama of two baby boys! They are being taken care of by the nurse. Vital measurments are being taken and you will be able to see them very soon." The doctor nods as he turns his head toward Shidiomi.
Shidiomi's ears perked when he heard footsteps coming down the hall. He looked up to see the doctor. "Brothers?" He asked excitedly.
The doctor turns his gentle blue eyes toward Shidiomi and smiles at him in amusement and gentleness. "Oh yes. You are now proud brother of two baby brothers. They are weighted at 7 lbs and 5 oz each and 31 inches each." He pauses as he grins at the catboy. "They are big.. maybe just like you when you were born!" He chuckles.
"Wow." Shidiomi grinned, bounding up and down on the bench. Demetrius looked up when the doctor came over, but said nothing.
The doctor grins at the boy's excitement before he looks at Caitlyn. "Mistalina is being moved to the private room.. you can find her on 5th floor.. room 569." He nods. "The babies will be in there very soon." He formally says as he winks at them all before he leaves to tend to other patients.
"Lets go up, okay?" Shidiomi looked between Caitlyn and Demetrius, still grinning.
Caitlyn laughs as she grins at Shidiomi. "Sure! Lets go.." She began to walk after she gestures to Demetrius that he could come along with them.
When they arrived, first thing she saw is Mistalina with the babies in their bassinent. "Hey Mistalina.."
Mistalina seems exhausted and a little peeved, but she manages a little wave when everyone else comes in.
Shidiomi bounded in and climbed up on the chair next to his Momma's bed, his ears dropping. "You okay?"
"Yes, sweetheart, I'm fine...just tired." She reached over and patted his head. "Go see your little brothers, but remember to be gentle..."
Shidiomi nodded, climbed down and walked over to the basinet to have a look.
Demetrius came in, looking a little sullen and leaned against the far wall.
Caitlyn arches her eyebrow when she could see that Mistalina was little peeved. "Eh... whats going on, Mistalina?" She murmurs as she moves toward the mother first before she get a chance to examine her offspring.
"Wings hurt Caitlyn." Was all the black haired tiefling muttered.
The two little ones in the basinet were asleep. One had a head full of deep red hair and a demons tail, the other had very little hair, the tiniest head wings and small back wings as well.
Shidiomi rested his hands on the edge of the basinet and beamed at them. "I named the red head Nymue, and the one with the wings Alendan." The black haired tiefling pipped up again as she carefully sat up in bed.
Caitlyn nods as she smiles indulgently at the children. "Sorry that one of them had to get my wings..." She smiles slightly at Mistalina before she watches Alendan and Nyume for while.
"You did good job, Mistalina..." She glances at her partner before she notices Demetrius. "Why so sullen?"
Demetrius looked up because he was being addressed. "You need not worry about me." He looked down again after a moment.
Caitlyn eyes Demetrius warily before she shakes her head, gingerly picking up Alendan and cradles him in her arms. "Alendan..." She whispers to him in the native language telling him that he will be very well protected and loved.
Shidiomi looked up at Caitlyn when she took Alendan into her arms, then looked at Nymue for a moment. "Can I hold Nymue, Momma?"
"With help you can, sweetheart." Mistalina slowly started to get up the bed. Demetrius, sensing he'd be useful went to her side to help up the rest of the way and to the basinet.
The black haired tiefling mumbled a thank you to him, before giving Shidiomi more instructions. "Go sit down, I'll bring him to you, alright?"
Caitlyn eyes Demetrius warily before she shrugs, walking over to Mistalina with Alendan in her arms. "Wanna hold him?" She murmurs softly to Mistalina.
Alendan opens his emerald-like eyes as he watches Mistalina and Caitlyn curiously. His tiger-like tail twitches slightly.
Mistalina picked up Nymue from the basinet and walked over to Shidiomi, placing the infant in his arms. "I've already held them and nursed them both. You and Shidiomi can enjoy them for now...why not let Demetrius hold Alendan?" She looked over at the persacom, who seemed to be watching the little ones with quiet fascination.
Caitlyn visibly twitches as she regards Mistalina warily. "I don't know.... I think Demetrius need to sit down too if he want to hold Alendan..." She hedges as she sighs, eyeing the persacom warily.
"Would you like to hold Alendan?" Mistalina asked Demetrius.
"I would." Demetrius smiled, his expression seemed to brighten a little more and he settled himself on the side of the hospital bed.
"Well there you go." Mistalina smiled, then looked back to Shidiomi, helping him hold Nymue who was half curled sleepily in his older brother's arms.
Caitlyn tries not to roll her eyes as she sighs, visibly resigning to the fact that she can't start up or deny Mistalina anything. "Oh all right..." She mutters as she walks over to Demetrius and places the baby carefully in his arms. "Be careful.. it will be your head if you drop him.." She says in anxious voice.
"I won't drop him." Demetrius cradled the baby carefully, like he'd watched Shidiomi and Caitlyn do and cooed over him. Apparently he had some programming for dealing with infants.
Caitlyn watches Demetrius warily as she crosses her arms but is ready to lunge forward if the baby drop. Her tail swishes back and forth agaitedly. She glances at Shidiomi. "How are you feeling now, hon?"
Shidiomi looked up at Caitlyn. "Me?" He cradled Nymue even more carefully as the boy was begining to wake up. Caitlyn nods as she looks at Shidiomi. "Yeah.. you, hon." She smiles slightly and watches him with Nyume.
"I'm fine Caitlyn." He looked down at his brother again.
Caitlyn shrugs as she looks at Mistalina then Demetrius. "Do you guys want me to leave so you guys could bond with the babies?" She arches her eyebrow.
"Remember our agreement Caitlyn." The black haired tiefling looked up.
"Yeah yeah.... I will just take Alendan to other room and he can stay there until the doctor clears him so he can go home with me." Caitlyn rolls her eyes.
Mistalina sighed. "We wouldn't have gotten along Caitlyn, you know it as well as I."
Caitlyn just merely shrugs as she looks at Mistalina. "I am not going to say anything....Demetrius, can I have my son back please?" She says curtly.
Demetrius handed the child back to Caitlyn.
"Thank you Demetrius." Caitlyn says as she takes Alendan back and put him in the bassient. "Well.. I will be back in like 5 weeks or so with Alendan for the visit.." She glances at Mistalina and began to wheel him out of the room.

How We Deal With ThingsMistalina sees Amyla and Yana again.mistalina13 Mistalina was in an entirely different state of mind as of a late, she seemed a little distant and lost since she gave birth to the twins. She figured it was because she had given one of them up and it felt like part of her was missing. But, she had made that agreement with Caitlyn and she had kept her word.
The black haired tiefling walked along the sidewalk, with her infant son in her arms. She was alone with the young boy, having left Demetrius and Shidiomi back at home. The small boy began to fuss, and Mistalina looked toward the sky to judge the time. Dusk was begining to fall, the little tiefling in her arms probably needed to nurse.
She frowned and looked around for a place to rest and feed her son. Thankfully she was near the clinic, and it tended to be open most of the time to visitors at least. So she headed up the street, pushed the door open and slipped in. Amyla Edana Let's go, Yana. Maybe Greg is there. Amyla was signing to her daughter, her hands moving in the beautiful fluid motions that made up sign language. The woman was at her wits' end and had run out of logical excuses to pry her daughter out of the house. The child had been cranky ever since she had started school, and the fact that Amyla wanted her to socialize made Yana ever more ornery. Even now, as they strode down the street toward the clinic, the child was looking peeved.
"Nuhh. You jus' sayiiiiing daat," the deaf girl drawled aloud, sighing as her mother ushered her toward the clinic door. She didn't want to see the doctors or any people. Really, she just wanted to stay in her room and sulk about having to go to that dumb place known as school.
Amyla didn't even bother to argue with her and simply opened the clinic door, smiling just a bit as Yana reluctantly entered. The woman stepped inside behind her daughter, smiling widely as she spied a familiar face. After a quick memory check, she was able to remember the other female's name. "Hello, Mistalina!" mistalina13 Mistalina had begun nursing the little red headed infant when she heard the door swing open again and she looked up. "Hello, Amyla....Yana." She managed a little smile and winced, wishing Nymue wouldn't suck so hard when he nursed. Amyla Edana "Ohhh, your little ones were born!" Amyla said, smiling widely at the other female. When Yana balked and tried to go around her to escape, she quickly stuck an arm out to block the girl's escape route, giving her daughter a narrow-eyed look.
Yana sighed, her face assuming an expression of defeat. The little deaf girl gave Mistalina a polite wave and then plopped herself down in a chair, obviously not pleased about this situation. Amyla Edana Settling herself on a chair nearby, Amyla smiled at the sight of the little boy. He was adorable. "Nymue. He is very good-looking," she said, smiling widely. She then gestured at her own daughter. "I think you met Yana before. She has grown a bit since then, though."
Yana, having been watching the two adults' faces, was able to discern most of what they said. She tilted her head to one side and looked back over at Mistalina, slightly curious about the baby held in her arms. While she itched to get up and take a closer look, manners and the fact that she was still cranky about being dragged here won out over inquisitiveness, and she stayed firmly planted in her seat. mistalina13 "His twin's name is Alendan...he's with Caitlyn, so you'll likely not see him often, if ever." Mistalina's features saddened slightly, only for a moment. She missed her other son. "That she has."
Nymue having been fed was rather sleepy, but he still seemed to look toward Yana with a slight interest, though he couldn't discern what she was, only that she wasn't Momma. Amyla Edana Amyla had a faint flicker of memory, that Mistalina had mentioned that arrangement before when they met. It saddened her that things had worked out that way. Hopefully, the twins would be permanently reunited some day. To be deprived of your sibling... ahhh, best not to think about it too much. "I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you get to see him," was all she said on the topic. Perhaps it was best if she left it be. "Your other child, Shidiomi... how is he?" she inquired curiously, remembering the little boy from before.
Yana sensed another pair of eyes on her, and she looked straight at the baby boy, her mismatched eyes wide with curiosity. It seemed he was looking right back, so she lifted a small hand to give him a little wave. He was sort of cute... as well as rather interesting-looking. mistalina13 Nymue made a little noise and yawned sleepily, but didn't do much else. His little tail swished back and forth.
"I should, if Caitlyn keeps her word." Mistalina glanced down at Nymue for a moment, then back to Amyla. "He's well, growing like a weed...and quite happy to be a big brother." Amyla Edana After a moment of brief disappointment at not getting a response, Yana simply settled back in her chair, idly swinging her legs back and forth and pretending to ignore the adults. Then it became too much for her, and she got up, scooting her chair closer to her mother's before sitting down again.
Grinning a bit in Yana's direction, despite the 'I'm so not speaking to you' vibes coming off the girl, Amyla secretly rejoiced. Yay. Progress. She turned her gaze back to Mistalina after a moment, smiling at little Nymue. "That's good that he's happy about having a little sibling," she said, referring, of course, to Shidiomi. "Is Nymue an easy baby?" mistalina13 "Mostly yes, unless he's hungry or tired then he gets a bit cranky..." Mistalina coo'd over the little tiefling in her arms and attempted to smooth out his red hair, the constant reminder of his other mother who she sometimes wished she would never have to see again. Amyla Edana Amyla had to chuckle at that. "I think all babies tend to get cranky when they're hungry and tired. At least, all have mine have," she added, glancing over at her daughter beside her. "They're quite a handful, but I think it's worthwhile, even if they drive me crazy," she added, glancing over at her own somewhat-cranky child. "I must say, though, their fussing gets less cute, the older they get." mistalina13 Mistalina smiled. "Nymue is awfully quiet, for a tiefling. Perhaps its the mixed demon's blood...the first real tantrum he throws though, will prove or disprove that." Amyla Edana Amyla cringed a bit. "Yeah, it could be bad. I think I have a few spare sets of earplugs lying around the house if you feel you need some," she said, remembering how handy the little things had become once Caleb started throwing his screaming tantrums. Ugh. She was so glad he was past those days. mistalina13 "I'll be alright, I believe. At least if he has strong lungs, it will prove he is healthy." Mistalina looked down at Nymue again and gave the boy a little kiss on the forhead. Amyla Edana Amyla had to agree with that. She relaxed back in her chair, giving a happy sigh as she watched Yana out of the corner of her eye. The girl had stopped sulking and was halfway paying attention, looking back and forth between the two women. Perhaps she was working on reading lips. Amyla prayed it was so. "He's lucky to have an older sibling to learn from," she added, watching Mistalina and her little boy. He was a lucky child indeed; she'd often wished for a sibling herself. mistalina13 "Shidiomi just gets mad that he has to go to school now, and he can't stay at home with Nymue during the day." Mistalina giggled a bit and shifted on the couch to settle herself better. Amyla Edana "Ahhh.... that sounds familiar!" Amyla chuckled, gesturing with a hand in Yana's direction. "Yana isn't thrilled about going to school either!"
Yana backed up her mother's statement with a fervent nod. "Haaaaaate schoooool!" she said, making a wry face. She hated being picked on and having to do homework. It was terrible. mistalina13 The black haired tiefling smiled again. "Shidiomi is usually quite good in school, but lately he's been distracted." She noticed Nymue had gotten quiet and glanced down to find him asleep. "Awh...he's finally asleep." Amyla Edana Amyla resisted the urge to coo at the sleeping child, but she did have to smile. He was so adorable. All babies were when they slept. They looked so innocent and peaceful. "Distracted because he wants to be home with his baby brother?" she asked, lowering her voice a few decibels to make sure she didn't wake Nymue up. mistalina13 "Mhm. He loves playing with Nymue when he's at home...so does Demetrius...it's quite cute actually." Mistalina smoothed Nymue's ever messy hair again. Amyla Edana "That's good to hear, that he loves his little brother so much," Amyla said, a faintly wistful smile on her face. If only her own children all got along so well, she'd be a perfectly happy woman. Then again, if they were that peaceful, they wouldn't be her kids. She enjoyed the chaos and fighting on occasion. But at some moments, like this one, she wished they all played together. "Who is Demetrius?" she inquired suddenly, the name not ringing any mental bells. mistalina13 "Oh, yes, you haven't met him yet. He's a persacom I bought, to help me with the children and other things around the house." Mistalina coddled the little boy against her. She wouldn't be able to stay too much longer, she needed to get Nymue home and into his basinet and tend to other things. Amyla Edana Persacom? That was a term that Amyla was unfamiliar with, and her brow furrowed lightly as she tried to match a mental file with the word.
Yana beat her to the punch in asking, though. "Whaa's a perrrrrssacommm?" the girl inquired, annunciating as best she could. That particular word was not one she knew, in sign or in speech. mistalina13 "A robot, sort of...but he's built smart enough to learn lots of new things. So, he's a little childish and sort of shy sometimes, but he's learned a lot since I activated him. They made him quite handsome too." An awkward sort of smile crossed Mistalina's features then. Amyla Edana Yana processed the word 'robot' and let the issue rest there. She knew about robot people; she had one for a sibling, after all.
Amyla nodded, a sly grin creeping its way across her face. "I see. He sounds like an interesting companion. I think I'm happy with my mate, though, even if he is a bit snarly at times." mistalina13 Mistalina blushed faintly. The persacom's company delighted her. As much as she loved her two young boys, having someone that at least looked closer to her own age made her feel a little better. Besides, her sons needed a male influence in their life, real or artificial.
"Ah...it's getting late.." She frowned a little, having glanced out the window. "I should be getting home." Amyla Edana Amyla decided to be polite and ignore Mistalina's faint blush. Obviously that was a sensitive topic, so she opted to leave it be. At the reference to it getting late, Amyla herself glanced out the window, her eyes suddenly growing wide. "Oh, it is late! Eowyn should be getting home about now," she said, muttering the last part more to herself.
Sensing that she would be heading home soon, Yana subtly stretched, glancing back and forth between her mother and Mistalina. mistalina13 Mistalina carefully got to her feet and resettled the sleeping infant in her arms. "It's nice to have seen you again Amyla, Yana." She smiled softly and padded toward the door. Amyla Edana "And you as well, Mistalina," Amyla said kindly, turning to gesture to her daughter that they were leaving. To her surprise, Yana was already up and moving toward the door, though, and Amyla had to jog a bit to catch up with the child. Goodness... the child could move when she wanted to! mistalina13 Mistalina chuckled, slipped out and began her short trek home.

Mistalina's DiaryApril 2, 2007It's been a few weeks now, and Nymue is a bit less fussy than he was. I think he just misses Alendan. I've heard it's hard for twins to be separated...and I'm begining to think I made a mistake, giving him up like that...so easy and heartlessly. Hopefully the first visit isn't too far away...because Nymue isn't the only one who misses his brother. I have things to take care of now...so perhaps I'll find some time to write more later.

Someone Else in the HouseMistalina meets Julia, a hopeful parent, and offers her a place to stay.mistalina13 Mistalina sat alone in the clinic's lobby, her infant son Nymue in her arms. She had come in to rest her feet, before returning home. She had gone for a night walk to put the little one to sleep and to ease her own mind. The black haired tiefling settled back against the couch and stared off into the space of the lobby. She shouldn't remain too long, she had left her old son at home with their persacom. Julia the Weird Julia sighed, walking along a quiet side street in the dark, her face the very embodiment (or enfacement, in this case) of depression. She was going through a hard month in her life right then, just as every April was hard. It wasn't anyone's fault, not really. Just because she was alone and friendless....
No, better not to focus on that. She blinked back the tears from her eyes, and then noticed a building nearby that looked interesting. She walked up the small set of steps, peeking in through the glass door, then entering. She hoped that there would be something to take her mind off her misery there. mistalina13 Mistalina looked up when she heard the door open, noticing someone unfamiliar come in. "Hello." She said softly and shifted the sleeping infant tiefling in her arms. Julia the Weird Julia smiled at the woman before her, holding a beautiful infant in her arms. Julia had always wondered what it was like to have a child.. She imagined it must be divine in some ways, though rather.... not, in others. She had heard terrible things, but then.. Babies and children always looked so wondrous!
"Hello. Do you mind if I sit down?" she asked, taking a seat next to the woman. mistalina13 "Go ahead." Mistalina rocked Nymue who squirmed in her arms while he slept. She smiled at the little boy then looked over at the one who had joined her. "So, what's your name?" Julia the Weird Julia smiled at the baby the other woman was holding, peacefully asleep in her arms. The baby looked so cute! She began to fantasize about one day starting her own family, but then was yanked back to reality with the other woman's question. "Wh- oh. I'm Julia. Sorry about not introducing myself. What's your name?" Then, she smiled, adding, "Your baby is really cute, by the way." mistalina13 "It's alright....and I'm Mistalina." The black haired tiefling tilted her head down and kissed the sleeping boy's forehead."Thank you. This little one, is my youngest son Nymue." Julia the Weird Julia smiled, thinking to herself how lucky this Mistalina lady was to have such an awesome son like Nymue. She smiled at the sleeping baby, "Well, Mistalina, he's definitely one of the cutest and best babies I've ever seen." It wasn't a lie, nor even an exaggeration. She truly had fallen in love with the little boy. He just seemed so.... so.. innocent and full of lovableness, despite being asleep. mistalina13 Mistalina smiled. "Thank you, again." Nymue stirred a little and yawned, his little demon tail twitching back and forth. "Are you here to see about an appointment, Julia?" Julia the Weird Julia blinked, unsure of what Mistalina meant. She hadn't really been paying attention as she had entered this place. Was it a doctor's office? A beauty salon? Well, the only way to find out would be to ask. "Err, sorry to seem stupid and all, but what do you mean by 'an appointment'?" She winced inwardly, realizing how stupid she looked, then closed her eyes to try and escape any angry glare. mistalina13 "This place is a maternity clinic." Mistalina had been wondering if she had a purpose in being here, or was just maybe lost. Though, it was usually curiosity that drew people into this place, when they didn't have children from here. "I conceived Nymue, and his brother, because of this place." Julia the Weird Julia was instantly fascinated. A maternity clinic? She had been thinking for a while about starting a family, though usually she had imagined much later, but here was a perfect chance! Her eyes shot open, and she asked, "Wait, so I could have a child like you did? That sounds great!" Then, a small part of her slipped a question into her mind, trying to poison her away from anything that might bring her any amount of happiness. "Wait. Is there a catch?" mistalina13 "Mhm, you can." Mistalina nodded. Nymue partly opened his eyes, if Julia payed attention she would notice they were a deep red, like the infant's hair. "No catch, at least from what I've seen. You just have to keep in good health and take care of the children well." She smiled again. Julia the Weird Julia thought this over, wondering if perhaps there had been a reason why she had 'randomly' chosen this place to visit. She wasn't much of a believer in 'destiny' or 'fate,' but this seemed too coincidental. She continued to think it over for a few minutes, then smiled at her new friend (or at least, she considered her a friend). "Sure, I'd love an appointment." She was growing excited, for it seemed that finally she would have an opportunity to start a family, despite not having a boyfriend or husband. Wait. Would they still accept her without a significant other? "Um, sorry to ask so many questions, but are there appointments for single people?" mistalina13 "I think theres information about the clinic and appointments around on one of the tables out here." Mistalina nodded. "They do, and as far as I know a donor for a case like that isn't necessarily needed either." The little tiefling yawned again and renestled next to his mother. Julia the Weird She smiled happily, grateful for Mistalina's help. "Thank you very much, I appreciate your patience and help." She got to her feet, and began to peruse some pamphlets about the clinic. Once she felt she knew enough, she sat back down next to Mistalina. "Okay, I've made up my mind. I would love it if I could have an appointment." She felt confident that she was making the right decision for once, and that this would bring her great happiness. mistalina13 "Just make sure your ready for it." Mistalina started rocking Nymue again a little. "It's the only advice I can offer." Julia the Weird Julia nodded enthusiastically, "I'm definitely ready. I've actually been wanting to start a family for a while now, and just not had the chance. And Nymue is so amazing, and so many other babies I've seen have been excellent, that I've decided I definitely want a child." mistalina13 "You'll do well, as a parent, I think." Mistalina smiled. Julia the Weird Julia smiled at the praise, "Aww, thanks. I appreciate that." She really didn't know what else to say, so she instead closed her eyes, imagining what her baby (or babies) might be like. mistalina13 "You should come back in the morning, when this place is lively and get the rest of the details about an appointment...plus you can meet some of the other parents." Mistalina smiled and started to get up from the couch. "By the way, I haven't seen you around this part of town, did you just move here?" Julia the Weird Julia nodded, writing herself a mental note to make sure to come back in the morning. She'd love to meet other parents, and an although she couldn't wait for an appointment, she knew she would have to. "Yes, actually, I did." She didn't want to get into the details of why, since she was afraid that mentioning her ex might somehow alert him to where she was. "I don't really know my way around yet... But I'm sure glad I found this place!" Julia took to her feet, offering Mistalina a hand automatically, to help her up. Julia took to her feet, offering Mistalina a hand automatically, to help her up. mistalina13 Mistalina didn't take the offered hand, simply because she was using both arms to support Nymue at the moment. "Do you have a place to stay yet?" Julia the Weird Julia looked down at the floor, slightly embarrased, "Well, I bought a small house, but the previous residents are still in the process of moving out. They said they'd be gone, so I hadn't thought to book a hotel room, but I suppose I should have. So no, I don't really." She blushed, wishing she had more control over the situation, but knowing it wasn't her fault. mistalina13 "You can stay with me, as long as you need then." Mistalina rocked Nymue. "It's not too far from here, and theres plenty of space. It's just myself, my two boys and my persacom living there now." She smiled slightly. Julia the Weird She looked up at Mistalina gratefully, "You're too kind. I really appreciate it, thank you so much." She smiled, hoping she wouldn't be too much trouble, or get one of her mood swings while she was there. That would sure be horrible! But she should be able to control herself, given the wonderful thought of perhaps getting an appointment to have a baby. mistalina13 "I understand what it's like to be young and on your own. Though, that was a long time ago for me." Mistalina chuckled. "We should be heading back then...before it gets too late." Julia the Weird Julia smiled, nodding happily, glad that Mistalina understood her. "Okay, that sounds good." She really couldn't think of much else to say, so she simply followed her companion, making sure not to lag behind. mistalina13 "You'll get to meet my older son in the morning, before he goes off to school, if your awake then. He's likely in bed by now." He should be, anyway, providing Demetrius was doing his job, which he always did. Mistalina lead Julia up the road, toward her home, and what would be Julia's home at least a little while.

Caitlyn's Journal April 8, 2007
This is my first journal entry after I brought Alendan home from the hospital. I have a three story mansion in middle of the forest not so far away from Mistalina and Alendan's twin brother Nyume. It have been so hectic because Alendan won't stop howling or screaming when I leave him alone to take a bath or eat in peace.. I think he misses his brother. But Mistalina and I made an agreement to separate them along with ourselves. Alendan will learn how to deal with it but now it is breaking my heart to hear him cry and cry out for his brother. I have watched him turn to the side with his wide eyes and sees that his brother is not there then here comes a heart-breaking whimper.
I have mixed some of little blood in the formula just like my mama did to me and he really have taken to the formula. The nursery is decked out in the starry night theme. The walls are painted midnight blue with white specks on top of it. I even got the glow in dark star and planet stickers and stuck them on the ceiling above the crib. Alendan is going to be very spoiled because I bought him so many stuffed animals, toys, clothes and everything. It is amazing... how a single child could change your entire perspective.. now I kind of wish I got pregnant instead of Mistalina. But Mistalina did a great job taking of those babies when they were inside her.
I hear Alendan stirring so I need to prepare the formula and get the music ready so he will wake up to a bottle, music and arms.
Until then.

Mistalina's Diary10 April 2007Well, there's someone else in the house again; her name is Julia. She was new to town and offered her a place to stay. I know what your thinking, and theres no romantic interest involved. My intentions in romance are focused elsewhere at the moment, not that it matters. As for the boys, Nymue has grown quite a bit, he has a full head of short red hair now too. He smiles, and nearly laughs, it's so adorable. And before I know it he'll be getting into mischief, I'm sure. Shidiomi is doing well too, he's a lot more outgoing than he used to be. School seems to have helped a lot, and being a big brother. He says he's ready to look out for Nymue when he's older. It's so cute. Oh and Demetrius has been a wonderful help through all this. Even though he doesn't understand it all. I'm still doing my best to teach him, but sometimes I think theres something things he just won't ever understand.

In the Parkmistalina13 The black haired tiefling rested on the bench, with a swaddled infant in her arms. She watched her older son run around on the playground, obviously having a fun time with the other children. Shifting the infant in her arms she sighed and looked down at the infant. "Before you know it...both of you will have all grown up on me." She smiled a little and smoothed the infant's red hair. More of it had grown in lately and he seemed to have a full head of dark red hair. She rubbed his cheek and then put one of her fingers in his hand. Nymue looked up at her sleepily, though still not really seeing. By now he knew his mother's smell and how her voice sounded. The infant put his tiny hand around her finger and made a little gurgling noise and very nearly smiled.MCDRaddictedrose A pair of red eyes darted around the park suspiciously. After one sweep, the blue-haired male turned to his hodded companion. "I don't see anything, Tundra. Are you sure this is the right place?"The hooded one paused in scoping the area. "I'm sure this is, Kronos." She smiled at her pony-tail haired friend. "Have some faith?"Kronos chuckled sheepishly. "I know, Swana, but there really seems to be nothing like that here..." mistalina13 Mistalina was still occupied by the infant for a few moments, watching him as he drifted back off to sleep. She smiled again and looked up to see where Shidiomi had gone to. The young catboy hung from the monkeybars by his knees, grinning widely and waving at her. He reached up to grab the bar with his hands before doing a penny drop to the ground and padding back to Mistalina.
"Momma, can I get a drink?""Sure sweetheart, check the side pocket of the diaper bag." She pulled her finger free carefully from the infant's hand and pushed the bag over to her eldest son. "Okay Momma." Shidiomi grinned again and started looking through the side pocket of the bag.MCDRaddictedrose Kronos was the first to spot the family of three. "Think they have it? The woman has a rather big purse..."'Swana' looked over to where her partner was pointing. A faint smile flickered across the young woman’s face. How cute… “I don’t think so. Wasn’t the target male?”“Shapeshifters. You don’t want them to be the target, do you?” Kronos smiled, as he already knew the answer. mistalina13 Shidiomi found the water bottle he'd been looking for and pushed up the top, taking a sip before he sat on on the other side of his mother on the bench and leaned against her side.Mistalina shifted Nymue to her other arm, careful not to wake the infant and slipped an arm around Shidiomi. "Tired already?" Nymue squirmed a little in his sleep, in an attempt to renestle more comfortably into his mother's side. (( Unfinished, I doubt it'll ever get finished so I'll log it as is. ))

New Lifemistalina13 Mistalina layed out on the couch, lounging and reading a magizine when she heard the door open. She turned on the couch, to see Julia come in. "Hey, where've you been?" She smiled softly. Demetrius who was on the floor with the boys looked back as well. "Hello, Miss Julia." He smiled a little, then turned back to the children. Shidiomi didn't look up, he was occupied playing with Nymue who was burbling and gumming a stuffed toy. Julia the Weird Julia smiled over at Mistalina, her hostess, who had become more of a friend. "Hello, Demetrius, hello, Mistalina. Oh, I was just checking in on that house... The people have apparently changed their minds about selling, despite having signed the contract, so I'm going to have to find another house." A look of concern flickered across her face, for she didn't want to impose upon her friend for too long. She wasn't exactly able to contribute, yet, after all, since she was currently 'between jobs.' She knew that would change soon, but still...
Her mind was focused on the thoughts of the life growing within her, and her right hand unconsciously found its way to her slightly swollen belly. Shifting to another thought, she asked, "So how have you guys been while I was gone?" She knew it had been less than four hours, but it had seemed like FOREVER to her. mistalina13 "Your welcome to remain here, theres plenty of space." Mistalina got up from the couch and walked to Julia. "Quite well, dinner is in an hour or two." She smiled and looked her houseguest over. Something is different about her. Then she noticed her hand on her belly. She bent down and put a hand to Julia's belly, laughing a little when she felt the gentle curve of it. "I don't think I have to ask where you've been." She drew back and righted herself. Julia the Weird Julia smiled, grateful for Mistalina's generosity. "Thank you, I really appreciate it." She didn't know what else she could say, since she couldn't think of anything that would express her gratitude. At the change of subject, she giggled, grinning happily. "Yeah, I suppose it is pretty obvious. I made a stop at the clinic on the way to meet them, and was able to secure an appointment. In fact, they were actually free just about twenty minutes later, so I figured, why wait? I'm so excited. I've always wanted to be a mother, but never been able to, until now." She blushed, then looked down to inspect the fingernails on her left hand, for even though Mistalina was her friend, she still sometimes felt uncomfortable sharing her feelings, due to her upbringing. mistalina13 "Theres plenty of room in the nursery, though we'll have to find another crib. Come, sit and relax...enjoy the state your in before it all turns into constant little aches and pains." She laughed a little and walked back to the couch. Julia the Weird Julia laughed, not quite believing that there would be aches and pains. After all, people always seemed so... happy, when they were pregnant! "Oh, don't worry, I'm sure I'll be able to buy a crib soon. I should get that job I applied for soon. The man said, after all, that I was very high on his 'considering list' without me even prompting him to say so... I hope he wasn't just saying that, though." She frowned slightly, then forced herself to cheer up, thinking instead about how wonderful it would be to have children. mistalina13 "I'd be careful about men like that." She settled herself on the couch and watched Demetrius with the boys. After a moment she glanced at Julia again. "I have some clothes and things you can borrow later, once your own don't fit." She turned her gaze up to the ceiling. Julia the Weird She frowned slightly, for she hadn't really thought about the man being possibly bad. She mulled over that for a moment, then brought herself back to the world around her. Perhaps he wasn't bad, afterall, and perhaps he had just been trying to give her some enthusiasm since she had seemed so down after the initial interview.
"Thanks, I appreciate that, too. If there's anything I can do in return, don't EVER hesitate to ask, okay?"
She sat down next to Mistalina, staring off into space. 'I've got to find some way to repay her... But how?' mistalina13 "Mhm..." Mistalina shifted on the couch, letting an elbow rest on the arm of the couch and her gaze dropped to Julia. The tip of her tail flicked idly from side to side for a moment or two before wrapping around her leg. "Make sure to go to all your appointments and take care of yourself. Because nothing you do this next while is gonna be for your own health, and enjoy it while you can still comfortably walk a decent distance." She chuckled. Julia the Weird Julia grinned, not really thinking that far ahead to when she wouldn't be able to walk long distances.
"I'll take care of myself, don't worry." She smiled, thinking of the new life within her, waves of joy practically radiating from her body. Her own tail twitched boredly, curling around her arm, then uncurling, and repeating the process. She felt that she had to go out and DO something. mistalina13 "Go out and get some air..." Mistalina gaze drifted off toward Demetrius and the boys, but she still spoke to Julia. "...why not go look at some things for a nursery?" Julia the Weird Julia smiled gratefully, glad that somehow Mistalina had sensed her anxiousness. She nodded, saying, "That sounds like a fantastic idea! Thank you." With that, she pulled her purse over to her and started rustling through it to see how much cash she had. She HATED to use credit cards, and refused to use them, and was consequently left with cash, since her checking account was virtually empty. mistalina13 The tiefling sighed idly and shifted on the couch again. She didn't know what else to say to the woman. Julia the Weird Julia finally found what she was looking for in her purse; two, last, crumpled, twenty dollar bills. She pulled them out and stuffed them into her pocket, then looked to Mistalina and asked, "Would you like to come with me?" mistalina13 "Nah, I need to stay and keep an eye on the boys." She glanced toward Julia, smiling faintly.

Clothes?!Amyla Edana Shopping, under normal circumstances, was a stressful occasion for Ali. Book shopping was fun, as was video game and movie shopping. Food shopping was a necessary evil and was occasionally even enjoyable, when it included ice cream or chocolate. But clothes shopping was something very different. She had done her shopping for maternity clothes out of necessity, but this whole idea of shopping for her child was completely boggling her logical mind. She, the dateless wonder, was pregnant, and the arrival was... well, far too close for her liking. She felt like she'd swallowed an entire watermelon.
Whole.
She meandered aimlessly through the aisles, wishing that she had jeans that fit her now. She had to go with some comfortable, supportive slacks and a nice shirt which showed off a little more of her enhanced cleavage than she really wanted it to, though that might have been the shy prude in her speaking. She hadn't needed any enhancement in that area, but pregnancy had added extra bulk everywhere. Ugh. At least she didn't have guys hitting on her and staring down her shirt anymore. Well... they did stare, but they didn't make a pass at her. That was the one good thing about having a kid.
After pawing restlessly at a few different outfits, she somehow found herself wandering amongst the clothing racks which held outfits for slightly older infants. While she knew that these were quite a ways off as far as necessity, she couldn't bring herself to face the reality of newborn-sized outfits. It was too scary. mistalina13 Mistalina walked along the aisle and wrinkled her nose, all the children's clothes seemed so cutesy these days. Not much seemed to suit Nymue, but he did need some new clothes. Perhaps overalls or something simple.
Said infant was in the crook of his mothers arm, with the bulk of his weight resting on her hip. He was awake and looking around somewhat, now that he could see a bit better. His little pointed tail swishing back and forth and his head rested against his mother's chest.
She hadn't noticed the other female until she nearly bumped into her. "Oh, I'm sorry." Amyla Edana Too pink, too green, too.... eww, that's so wrong. Boys are not supposed to wear dresses! Ali thought, crinkling up her nose at one particularly ghastly outfit. People actually dressed their babies in that?! She looked down at her distended belly and gave it a pat. Sorry, little'un. You might have two socially awkward and completely nerdy parents, but at least we won't make you dress like a freak.
She went back to her distracted browsing, more to avoid the reality of impending doom than to actually search for some necessary clothing. She had just rounded another clothing rack--which, of course, was taller than her by several inches-- when another person appeared in her field of vision, whom she nearly walked into. She gave a startled yelp and stumbled back a step or two, quickly setting her glasses properly on her nose.
"Oh... uhh... n-n-not your fault. I was distracted. I'm sorry. Kind of... not with it today," she stuttered out quickly in apology before being momentarily distracted by the child the woman was balancing on her hip. Hey, that kid was kind of cute... in a devilish sort of way. He had a creepy tail. She shook her head. No, no! Must focus! mistalina13 "His name is Nymue. I'm afraid you won't get much out of him he's only a little over a month old." Mistalina looked down at the girl and smiled. "Do you have a child of your own?" She hadn't taken the time to look the girl over just yet and wasn't too sure of her age, or what the proper age of adulthood with humans was for that matter.
Nymue looked at the girl and grinned widely, making a little gurgling noise. Amyla Edana Being a shorter than average person in a society full of... giants, Ali was used to looking up at people. Still, she was momentarily taken aback when she had to crane her head back that far on her already-sore neck to look up at the woman she'd nearly bumped into. Well... now she really felt like a midget. "Ohhh. Well, he's pretty cute anyway," Ali said, waggling her fingers in a wave and grinning at Nymue. Only she could find mildly demonic things cute. She was odd that way. "Nymue... that's a cool name. Haven't heard it before," she commented, more to herself than anything.
She cringed a little at the query. "Errr... yeah, sort of." She looked mournfully down at her obviously swollen belly, poking at it with one finger. "Expecting, anyway. I still think I'm too young for this. This was not what I intended.. to... do. Yeah," she trailed off, sighing loudly. Awkward, much. mistalina13 "It is an elvish name, that's probably why." Mistalina smiled softly and her own tail swished from side to side lazily and her headwings relaxed slightly. "I didn't think I was really ready for this either..." She looked down at Nymue, "...prepared or not though, you'll still love the little darling that's for sure."
She remembered how much her back had hurt while she carried the boys and felt for this one, who seemed little more than a girl. "Would you care to go sit down somewhere, I saw a bench just around the corner..."
Nymue's eyes followed her hand and he reached out to grab her fingers. Amyla Edana Elvish? Yep, that would explain it. Ali grinned faintly, feeling a bit more at ease with this other... non-human female of some race she couldn't identify. Her scientific brain was curious, as usual, but she opted to be polite and not ask. She saw Nymue grabbing for her hand and moved her fingers within easy grabbing reach. She couldn't couldn't help it; he was too cute.
"Oh, I'm not worried about loving them. That's kind of a given. Randi, I know, is going to love him... her.... him-her... too. It's just... I never figured I'd be a mom this soon," she managed to get out, her brain finally wrapping around the concept. Pleased that pregnancy hadn't totally destroyed her brain (speaking of brains, she had a test tomorrow. DAMN!), her smile widened a bit. "You weren't planning on becoming a mother either?"
At the reference to the bench, Ali looked thoughtful for a split second. "Oh... uhh, no, that's all right. I was sitting in class for most of the day. Standing up is preferable, but thank you." mistalina13 "I have an adopted son, whose older, but Nymue....." Mistalina hesitated for a moment. "...and his brother, are my only biological children." She shifted Nymue to her other hip easily. "But, they weren't planned." She smiled softly.
After a moment she looked around. "Where is he...I hope he didn't get lost." She sighed softly. Amyla Edana Ali nodded in understanding. She knew all about not planning things, and while she wanted to inquire how the other female ended up with kids, she wasn't inclined to press the issue. It was a rather personal question, after all. "Nymue has a brother?" she inquired. "A twin?" She had to grin. Twins were so cute, especially when identical!
She raised an eyebrow and shoved her glasses further up her nose, looking a bit confused at the other female's face. "Lost? Your older son?" she asked, glancing about. She hadn't seen any kids when she was moping around the aisles, though her belly might have been getting in the way with that. mistalina13 "Fraternal twin, named Alendan, he's with the boys other mother. I likely won't see him again for a long time." Mistalina frowned slightly. "My older son and my....housekeeper." She hadn't thought of something better to refer to Demetrius as in public. Amyla Edana Ali immediately shut her mouth and grimaced. Whoops. There she went again, sticking her nose where it didn't need to be... stuck. She was opening her mouth to apologize for intruding upon private matters when the other female elaborated on the missing... people. Two of them? "Ohhh. I didn't see any kids wandering through here before. There were a lot of people a couple aisles down, though."
She belatedly realized that in her stupidity, she had failed to introduce herself. "Oh, uhhh... I'm Ali, by the way. And I'm sorry about almost running into you before. Kinda distracted about... stuff." mistalina13 Mistalina listened to her, but didn't look down, she was still looking for Shidiomi and Demetrius. "My name is Mistalina."
A tall man, with dark brown slightly curled hair rounded the corner and spotted her. "Mistress!"
She sighed. "Demetrius, it's 'Mistalina' in public remember?"
A catboy of roughly nine years walked after the tall man. "Momma!" Amyla Edana While Ali took a brief second to process the name-- Mistalina, that was an interesting name. Must be elvish too...-- it was apparent she missed out on something. When she came back to reality, she was surprised to note that there were two new members to their happy little group, both of whom were male. After a brief moment of trying to figure out how long she had been lost in thought for, she managed a nervous smile, the smile instantly transforming to a grin at the sigh Mistalina gave. Ah, men. So frustrating.
"Err... hello," she said in a rather pathetic attempt at greeting, nervously shoving her glasses up again. mistalina13 "My housekeeper, Demetrius, and my son Shidiomi. Shidiomi, Demetrius this is Ali." Mistalina motioned to each of them in turn with her free hand. "Did he managed to find any good clothes, Demetrius?"
"He did..." The persacom paused for a moment, remembering his mistress' last request. "Mistalina. It took some time though."
"Nothing fits right Momma." Shidiomi chimed in, and crossed his arms across his chest, flattening his feline ears slightly and his tail twitching in mild annoyance.
"Of coure not sweetheart, you have a tail afterall, we can fix them properly once we get home." Mistalina smiled and put an arm around the smaller catboy. Amyla Edana Ali nodded to each of the two males in turn, feeling rather like a bobbleheaded animal on a car dashboard as she did. "Hi, Demetrius, Shidiomi," she said, suddenly feeling rather out of place with her ordinary, everyday human name. She made a mental note to not name the unborn child anything that could be construed as ordinary or popular. Creativity was a must.
She gave Shidiomi a sympathetic smile. "Yeah, I know how that feels. I sort of wish I had a tail to blame it on, though," she said, wrinkling up her nose in a faint grimace. Clothes shopping was not exactly high on her list of favorite pasttimes, even before the whole kid issue. mistalina13 Demetrius nodded to Ali and shifted the small stack of clothes to his other arm and reached up to brush some of his hair behind his 'ear', it was a human habit he seemed to have picked up somewhere in passing.
Shidiomi waved to Ali and leaned against his mother on the opposite side Nymue was on and put an arm around her. Just a little grumpy and tired, likely quite ready to go home.
Nymue peeked over Mistalina's arm at the catboy, then leaned over and tried to make a grab at one of the boy's feline ears.
"No, no, Nymue. What has Momma told you about that?" Mistalina shifted the infant back so he sat against her hip again and looked down at him. "You don't pull hair, or ears. It hurts." Amyla Edana Either this was the oddest mix of a family that Ali had ever seen, or her own family had been so abnormal in its homogeneity that it was almost unnatural. Her overly logical brain couldn't decide which of the two options it was, so she decided not to think about it. Her brain was in enough pieces already; there was no need to cause further damage.
She smiled a bit at Shidiomi and then had to hold back a giggle at Nymue's grabbing. Awwww, how cute! Of course, she'd be howling up a storm if he had a hold on one of her ears, but that was another issue altogether. "You have a very interesting family," she told Mistalina, glancing back and forth amongst the four of them. mistalina13 Mistalina laughed. "Thanks, I love them all the pieces." She wouldn't mention that fact that Shidiomi was left on her doorstep as toddler by one of her friends and she found the boy alone and crying.
"Mistalina, shouldn't we be going to get lunch soon. I think the boys are getting hungry, and Shidiomi looks like he could use a break from shopping." Demetrius was merely offering a suggestion, based on his internal clock, besides the children seemed restless.
"Your right, would you care to join us Ali?" Amyla Edana "I can see that. Can't blame you at all," Ali said honestly. Really, she could see how easy it would be to love all of them, odd as they were. They seemed kind, as well as interesting.
She raised an eyebrow at the mention of lunch and snuck a look at her watch. As a full-time student, she was used to skipping meals every day, but while her own biological clock didn't signify it was food time, her stomach (and apparently, the baby) were telling her a different story. "Errr... yes, I'd love to," she said, finally realizing she was hungry. She grinned and shifted her purse on her shoulder, her face flushing when her growling stomach betrayed her state of hunger. "Didn't realize it was lunchtime yet." mistalina13 Mistalina chuckled. "Mmm..well, sharing your body with a child tends to mess up the schedule a bit." She smiled. "Know any good places to go for lunch around here?" Amyla Edana Since her main mode of transportation was walking, Ali knew just about every store, restaurant, and recreational center within a couple miles of her house. She tilted her head to one side and squinted a bit, deep in thought. What places were there within safe walking distance to eat at? This store by itself was on the edge of her home range, but there had to be something close by.
"Ahhh... fast food place about three blocks... that way," she said, pointing her hand in one vague directions. "Pretty healthy, for fast food. Good salads. Sushi place in the strip mall about a block past that. And there's a deli... somewhere near here. That isn't so bad either," she added. She looked down at her belly and gave a sigh. Oh, the trials and tribulations of pregnancy. Yuuurgh. mistalina13 "Whatever is closest will do fine." Mistalina smiled again.
Nymue twisted in his mother's arm and rested his head against her chest and let out a little whimper. The infant was hungry and tired as well. Amyla Edana "Uhhh... fast food, then. It's got a playplace too," Ali said, the last part directed more at Shidiomi. She fidgeted a bit and shoved her glasses further up her nose, trying to work out a bit of inexplicable nerves. She looked at Nymue, giving him a pitying look. She knew how it felt to be hungry like that. "Did you need to stop by the check-out first?" she inquired. The girl hadn't found a single thing, mostly due to fear and distraction, but it looked like Mistalina had a few things, courtesy of Shidiomi's focus. Ali was jealous; why couldn't she have that much focus?! Stupid pregnancy was killing her brain. mistalina13 "Demetrius, take the boys and go with Ali; I'll take care of getting the clothes and things." Mistalina walked to the persacom and plucked the clothes from under his arm with her free hand and handed him Nymue.
Demetrius nodded and held the infant carefully. "Of course."
The infant tiefling roused enough to notice he was being passed, letting out a little near cry until he realised who he was being passed to. Nymue had long since labeled Demetrius in his mind as 'Daddy'. He shifted and buried his face against Demetrius' chest.
"M'kay, Momma." Shidiomi nodded to Mistalina.
With that Mistalina walked off toward the front cash, leaving Ali with the boys. Amyla Edana A little surprised, Ali nodded, watching as Mistalina headed off. She glanced back at Demetrius and the boys, smiling a bit nervously. "Shall we?" she said, turning to stride toward the front of the store. She shifted her purse on her shoulder and shoved the glasses back up her nose.
"It's only a couple of blocks away. Did you guys drive or walk here?" she inquired curiously, including both Demetrius and Shidiomi in the query. mistalina13 "We walked, Mistress doesn't drive." Demetrius nodded and followed after Ali, shifting Nymue in his arms as he walked along.
Shidiomi padded after them, staying on the far side Demetrius, closer to his brother and away from Ali, because frankly strangers made him a little nervous. Amyla Edana "Oh." Ali was pleasantly surprised this time as she headed through the front doors of the store and made a right turn to head down the sidewalk. "Can't say that I blame her. I'm not much into driving myself."
After a few moments of silent walking--no, she was waddling, really--she became even more on edge. Silence like this made her nervous. "So... do you all have any pets at home?" Oh, she was terrible at this smalltalk thing. mistalina13 "Nope, not right now at least. Momma says we can get a dog or something, once Nymue is a little older." It was Shidiomi who piped up this time as they walked, as Demetrius wasn't one for idle chit chat, mostly because he didn't understand. Amyla Edana Ali gave a happy sigh and glanced back at Shidiomi, grinning from ear to ear. "Ooooh, a dog! I had dogs growing up, and it was great. They're wonderful to talk to, and they never make fun of your ideas or put you down. I used to tell Princess everything," she said, her eyes sparkling at the memory. Being away from home and family and her dogs... it was lonely.
Except for Randi and The Baby, of course.
She spied the restaurant up ahead and gestured at it. "There it is." She glanced back at Demetrius, curious as to why he wasn't very talkative and why he referred to Mistalina as 'Mistress.' mistalina13 When they got a bit closer, the older tiefling caught up with them a couple of bags looped over her arms. "Sorry, lines were bad." She smiled and moved to walk beside Shidiomi.
Demetrius shifted in his arms again, it seems the infant had fallen asleep on the way over to the restaurant. Then he leaned over to give Mistalina a peck on the cheek and smiled at her when he drew back.
"Uck." Shidiomi's ears flattened and he stuck out his tongue. As much he loved his Momma, seeing her kiss someone, or be kissed still seemed gross. Amyla Edana Ali had just about reached the door when she heard the sound of approaching footsteps. She turned to spy Mista on the approach, bags included. "Hello again," she said cheerfully, somewhat glad now that the most talkative member of the family was back.
She had to giggle at Shidiomi's expression. "Kisses are gross, aren't they?" she observed, grinning widely. "I agree." mistalina13 Shidiomi grinned over at Ali then grabbed onto his Momma's free arm and held onto it until they got close to the restaurant door. The little catboy let go when they reached the door to hold it open, since Demetrius couldn't, apparently the persacom had managed to ingrain a few manners into the catboy.
Demetrius looked down at Shidiomi smiled and nodded before glancing to Ali. "You go ahead, you too Mistress."
"Mistalina." The tiefling rolled her eyes.
"I appologize." Amyla Edana Ali returned the grin with fervor. She was pleasantly surprised by Shidiomi's manners when he opened the door for them. She offered up a prayer that she could put those kinds of manners into her own kid; heavens knew she was going to have a hard enough time to being a mom without having to add discipline difficulties to it. "Thank you," she said to the catboy, nodding politely afterward at Demetrius before waddling her way into the climate-controlled restaurant. She took a brief moment to ponder over the 'Mistress' versus 'Mistalina' debate and decided not to press the issue. If it was necessary for her to know, they'd explain it, she reasoned. mistalina13 Mistalina walked in after Ali and glanced back at Demetrius for a moment. As sweet as the persacom was, he pressed his luck sometimes, though likely not on purpose. "Go ahead and sit with the boys, I'll take care of this."
Demetrius nodded and walked over to sit down at one of the odd little booths.
Shidiomi let the door shut, careful to get his tail out of the way before walking after the persacom and sliding into the side of the booth next to him. Amyla Edana By now, The Baby had decided to make its presence known as well as demand immediate sustenance, for Ali felt a distinct kick to the side of her belly as well as an unhealthily loud stomach grumble. She simply sighed and stared down at the offending bump. "Yes, I know food is required. Ya don't have to be so forceful." It occurred to her later that she probably looked like a complete moron by talking to her own distended abdomen, but considering how hungry she was, she really didn't care.
When Mistalina sent the boys over to a booth, she glanced in that direction and then headed for the counter, eyeing the menu and trying to decide what the healthiest and least fattening item on the menu was. mistalina13 The tiefling walked after Ali and looked down at the shorter girl. "So, what's edible here?" She glanced at the menu and frowned slightly she'd never been here before. Amyla Edana Ali craned her neck at an almost painful angle to look up at her new acquaintance. "Salads are the safest bet. Their hamburgers and cheeseburgers are good too. Anything with grilled chicken is safe, fried not so much. I usually go with the salad topped with grilled chicken strips, but I'm a fussy healthnut like that." She returned to looking at the menu, resisting the urge to rub the sore spot on her neck. "And Baby isn't fond of fried food, so I tend to avoid it as much as possible. Oh, and the milkshakes are good, but they're pretty fattening." She turned a sad look down at her belly. In her current condition, fattening was not a good idea. mistalina13 Mistalina chuckled. "I wouldn't worry too much, you'll loose the weight again soon enough. The little one will keep you busy and running around plenty." She smiled pleasantly.
"And good to know, I'm not so picky myself but Shidiomi is a bit paticular about food. You know, little kids and their whole 'I don't like vegetables!' thing." She glanced back toward the table to make sure the boys were behaving for Demetrius. Amyla Edana Ali managed a weak grin. "Yeah. If I was a few years younger and had my old speed-of-light metabolism, I wouldn't worry so much. But I grew out of that, and it takes me ages to lose any weight. Though, I suppose Baby will keep me running ragged," she commented, imagining herself chasing around a miniature Randi. Her eyes widened. Oooh. Scary!
She had to chuckle at Mistalina's reminder of how finicky little children could be about their food. "Oh, yes, I remember. My little sister used to pitch a royal fit every time we tried to get her to eat peas." The college student paused and looked thoughtful. "Y'know, come to think of it, she still does that." Grinning at the thought of her preppy little sister fussing over eating peas, she returned to examining the menu. "I think I'll go with my usual salad. How about you?" mistalina13 "Salad is fine for me as well, a hamburger is likely fine for Shidiomi and Nymue I can feed once we're at home...since he's napping right now." Mistalina put a hand on her hip and her tail swished lazily back and forth. Amyla Edana Ali nodded and stepped forward toward the register. She was in mid-stride when something occurred to her, and she halted, pivoting slowly to give Mistalina a curious look. "What about Demetrius?" she inquired, perplexed by this whole issue. Where exactly did the strange man fit into the household? mistalina13 "He's a persacom, so he doesn't eat." Not unless you count the ocassional battery recharge. Mistalina chuckled at her companions strange expression. She was used to people asking questions about him by now, once they found out. Amyla Edana Having no clue what a persacom was, Ali just managed to get out a simple, "Oh." She didn't want to be polite and push the issue with more questions, so she left it at that. Besides, she could google it when she got home. The Internet had to give her some sort of information to work with, right? Recovering, she stepped up to the counter to give her order to the gum-popping teenager behind the register. Weird, the creatures that inhabited Gaia. mistalina13 When it was her turn she took care of ordering as well and then it became a small case of waiting. "You can go sit Ali, I'll wait here." Amyla Edana Ali was torn between pride and comfort, and at the moment, the latter wasn't playing fair. Between her neck, back, and ankles, she was one giant walking ball of sore muscles, and sitting down, even in a hard plastic-seated booth, sounded heavenly. "Thank you," she managed to get out, before waddling her way over to the booth. She eased herself down on the opposite side of the booth from Demetrius and Shidiomi, sliding over to make room for Mistalina and cringing at the aches in her back. Oh, she was so sick of pregnancy. mistalina13 Shidiomi was still sitting beside Demetrius on the booth bench, being well behaved as he could manage with his current mood. His ears perked up when he heard footsteps and noticed Ali come over. "Momma told you to sit?" He cracked a smile.
Demetrius nodded to Ali when she sat down. "Mistalina understands how you feel, she was much the same before Nymue and his brother were born." He shifted the sleeping infant in his arms. Amyla Edana Ali nodded an affirmative at Shidiomi, leaning back against the hard plastic of the seat booth and exhaling a massive sigh of relief. Her back might not feel any better, but her ankles surely did. She quirked a hint of a smile at Demetrius. "Yeah. And I'm grateful for it. I'm just glad I'm not having twins too..." she said, resting one hand atop her belly. That would have been awful, to have twins. She would likely have exploded long ago. mistalina13 "It was hard on Momma. S'why she got Demetrius." At least that's what he'd been told, but no matter the reason he was glad for someone else around the house. He leaned over on the bench and rested his head against the persacom's arm. Amyla Edana Had she not been pregnant, tired, and hungry, Ali reasoned that it was quite possible she could have had a more intelligent response than a nod of understanding. For a moment she just sat there, resting and trying to regain enough strength to sit up straight. After a moment, she sighed. "Wish I was that lucky. I've got some help too, but I live alone and work and go to school. It's rough." She grinned a bit at Shidiomi. "You like having a little brother?" mistalina13 "Mhm." The catboy nodded. "I help Momma and Demetrius take care of him."
Mistalina came back finally with a tray balanced on her hand and she slid it onto the table before carefully taking the seat next to Ali. "I used to work, haven't had to for a while, sometimes I miss it though." Amyla Edana "You're better at being a big sibling than I was. I was little when my sister was born, and we've fought since she was old enough to smack me," Ali said, chuckling faintly. Despite the fact that they fought, she missed her sister a great deal. The girl was fun, if a royal pain in the rear.
She was distracted by Mistalina's arrival. "I wish I could get away with not working. I won't for a few weeks after the baby is born, but I have to otherwise. It's not so bad, though. You get to meet all sorts of people," she commented, wrinkling up her nose a bit at some of her creepier memories of the zoo. "Usually nice ones." mistalina13 Mistalina chuckled and nodded. "School and work, at the same time is a lot. Especially with a child too." She picked up the hamburger off the tray and offered it to Shidiomi who unwrapped it and thankfully started eating without complaint. With a sigh of relief the tiefling picked up the salad and popped the lid off. Amyla Edana Ali nodded vigorously. "Yeah. I'm just glad school will be out before the baby's born. Or... I hope so." She went a bit pale at the thought and then shook her head and retrieved her own salad. "Thank you again for waiting. I appreciate it a lot," she said, giving Mistalina a grateful smile and then commencing to glance around for a fork. mistalina13 "Your welcome."
Mistalina wasn't terribly impressed by the greens in the salad, they had probably been sitting in that odd little refridgerator too long. It was still edible though, especially when dressing was applied. The tiefling wasn't one for talking much while she was eating so she would eat in silence unless Ali felt like being talkative. Amyla Edana After finally locating a fork and opening her salad, Ali picked through it for a few minutes, sort of shoving the lettuce and toppings around with her fork. She managed to eat a few bites of lettuce before switching her attention to the much more appetizing grilled chicken strips atop it, wisely leaving the dressing aside. Like she needed the fat that was in that. She was about halfway through her silent meal when she felt something odd in the region of The Baby. She paused in her eating and set her fork down, eyes wide and the odd rolling sensation. It almost felt like the baby was rolling over inside her, and it was strange. "For the record, and I say this with you all as my witnesses, I am never getting pregnant again! Ever!" she squeaked. mistalina13 The tiefling chuckled, she knew that odd look. "Moving, hm?" She put down her fork. "Alendan and Nymue used to keep me up nights." Amyla Edana Ali carefully closed her salad and put the fork atop the lid, looking decidedly pale. "Yeah... I've felt kicking and stuff before, but that was the first time I felt that rolling thing." She shuddered a bit, giving Mistalina a nervous smile. "How did you manage to get any sleep, with two of them doing this??" mistalina13 "You get used to it; it gets sort comforting almost...after a while." Mistalina popped the lid back on her salad for the moment as well, having only finished about half of it. "You feeling alright, Ali?" Amyla Edana Ali swallowed a bit. Comforting? This? It felt like she was on a roller coaster ride, inside her own belly. It felt odd, and suddenly, she wasn't hungry any more. "It's not very comforting at the moment..." she said, giving her salad a longing look. "And I'm not feeling very hungry anymore. Well... I am, but I'm not. Just... blurgh," she said oh-so-eloquently, not quite sure how to communicate what she was feeling. She tentatively wrapped one arm around her belly. Oh, this so did not feel right. mistalina13 "Need to get home and lay down, perhaps?" Mistalina looked concerned and started to slide toward the end of the bench seat to get up if the girl said yes. Amyla Edana Ali nodded, looking several shades paler than before. "I think... I think that might be wise," she said, tucking a few stray strands of hair behind her ear. She gave the family an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry. I just... I don't feel well." mistalina13 "Entirely understandable." Mistalina slid off the bench and got up. Amyla Edana Ali carefully scooted off the bench and stood, cringing a bit as she straightened. She picked up the remains of her salad. It'd make a good snack later, if she ever managed to settle her stomach. "I am sorry. It was nice meeting all of you. Hope to see you all again soon," she said before turning and heading for the restaurant door. Oh, bed sounded very good right now.

Mistalina's DiaryMay 10, 2007Haven't been in touch with Caitlyn in a while, so I have no clue what is going to happen with these "visits" we had agreed on. Should've known she wasn't dependable for that sort of thing. I regret trusting her with Alendan and I regret telling her about my pregnancy at all. At least Nymue is less fussy now than he was. He's getting used to Demetrius finally, and that's good. I think he believes Demetrius is his Daddy now, if he does, I'll let him think that seeing as its probably for the best. They are so cute together, though I think the concept of a baby still puzzles Demetrius somewhat. Shidiomi is doing well in school and growing like a weed. He's nearly up to my ribcage now, and I'm 6'1". He's still being a great help and a wonderful big brother. I'm grateful for that, because I know some children feel neglected when there are little ones around. As for Julia, my houseguest, she's gone and gotten herself pregnant like she wanted. She's practically glowing with happiness now, though I'm not sure how she'll manage children. She's showing a lot more than she was even a couple of weeks ago. I had to dig out some my maternity clothes for her. Poor girl, I know how bad those back aches can get. Between myself and this book though, with how much her belly has grown lately, I think it's more than one child. She's a fertile little flower it would seem, hopefully she can take the pains of birth. Though, she will make for lovely children. I'll be there to help her with it, if I can.

Caitlyn's Journal May 11, 2007
It is 2 in the morning and this is the only time I could get to write in this journal. I have been so terribly busy with Alendan and the job I just recently acquired. Unfortunately its not the job I wanted but I get to travel and take Alendan with me. Right now we are 3 thousand miles away from the home in a nice and comfortable cottage and I am seriously considering staying here. But I have an agreement with Mistalina to visit each other often so the boys could get to know each other. It have been a long while since I last visited Mistalina and Nyume.
Alendan is progressing really great, he stopped screaming and crying all of the time but he is one most mischievous little tyke I ever seen. He already have begun to crawl, smile, babble and all of that baby stuff. I think he is due to walk soon.. I am not sure about that... I will have to check the book soon but for now.. I need to sleep before my little one wakes up for his feeding.

Mistalina's DiaryMay 23, 2007Nymue managed to crawl clear across the house today. Scared the life out of me since he's so good at hiding it took me nearly an hour to find him. When I did he just sat there, looking up at me, with the biggest smile I've ever seen on him and he was laughing. It was cute, but I'm relieved that he was fine. He's cutting the first few of his teeth now too, so he's a bit fussier, especially when I try put him to sleep. Shidiomi is just a bundle of energy as always and a big help around the house. Imagine a male that enjoys cleaning...that isn't programmed to be doing it!? It makes me a little sad though that he doesn't have many friends that aren't adults. At least he's socialized and polite unlike some children I've met. Sheeh they make me wonder about their parents. Demetrius is doing well in his "person lessons" too. He's well mannered and polite as always...plus he's finally learning to use my name more often rather than calling me 'Mistress', which I've told him is a name better used only in certain places like the bedroom. Despite his lacking in a pulse he's probably the most wonderful companion I've ever had.

Mistalina's DiaryAug 11, 2007Nymue sprouted like a weed now he's a little bundle of energy whose into or on everything he can manage to get a handhold on. I swear, he's running me ragged. That's mostly why I haven't bothered to write anything in so long, since I have to keep an eye on the little terror. He is still adorable though and I wouldn't trade him for anything. I think another shopping trip for clothes for the boy's is in order. Both of them seem to be nearly grown out of a good deal of their clothes. Plus, Shidiomi needs clothes for when he starts at his new school, which should hopefully be very soon.

An Unusual MeetingAmyla Edana Despite the fact that she had only been at work for six hours, Amyla felt it had been something akin to an eternity. The end of the summer meant more vacations for normal people, which meant more stupidity, which in turn led to more injuries. She wasn't quite sure what it was about the heat or the time of year that made people act abnormally idiotic, but who was she to complain? The idiocy kept her busy, after all.
Yearning to get home and be with her kids, despite the gray hair they gave her, Amyla was all set and ready to go home. Her files from earlier were done, records were stored, and her notes were completed. All she had to do was make one last round through the ER to see if there were any emergencies, and then she could head on home. She headed for the waiting room, glancing outside toward the ambulance bay and outside sitting area as she did. Gods, it looked nice out there. Sunshine would be a wonderful change from hospital lights... mistalina13 Mistalina had taken the boys in town for a day of clothes shopping which they both sorely needed with both of them growing like weeds. Nymue was sleeping lightly with his head resting against the dark haired tiefling's chest. He had done his best to walk around today and was finally somewhat tuckered out. Shidiomi walked beside them, with a few somewhat light bags on each arm.
Nymue's tail twitched and he whimpered, grabbing a hold of his mother's somewhat longer hair. The behavior startled Mistalina and she shifted the boy so he sat up some and she could get a look at his face.
"Bro..ther..." The little tiefling whined. Amyla Edana Amyla, wandering through the hospital's ER, felt something was amiss. She did a quick lookover of the people in the waiting room. A few sniffly noses, a mysterious rash, a twisted ankle... nothing that would cause her instincts to be so arised. She wasn't sure which powerful instinct it was--that of a healer or that of a mother--that was driving her to look, but whatever it was, she felt she'd better listen. Good always came of heeding her instincts.
After a thorough perusal of the waiting room and exam rooms yielded nothing, she clocked out, assuming that whatever it was was not present in 'her' ER. She shed her labcoat and tossed a light jacket on over her scrubs before heading out the employee door toward the main lobby of the hospital. She was passing by the pediatric ward when she was brought up short by that same feeling of wrongness that had plagued her earlier, and she immediately started looking around. Gods, if she had to deal with another abused child again, that abuser was going to get a good dose of old-fashioned medicine. mistalina13 "Nymue, Brother is right there..." Mistalina stopped and turned the little boy so he could look at Shidiomi. The little tiefling coilied his tail around his mother's arm, sniffled and began to cry.
Shidiomi stopped beside his mother and looked over at Nymue. "You alright, Nymue?" He frowned when his little brother started crying. "I don't think he means me, Momma, maybe he doesn't feel well?"
"Maybe..." Mistalina sighed. He meant Alendan and she knew it, but there was nothing she could do. The little red head often cried and hoped for his twin when he wasn't feeling well. "...the hospital is just around the corner, we'll see if we can find someone to have a look at him, otherwise we'll have to go to the clinic..."
Which, was on the other side of town from where they were at the moment. Amyla Edana With instinct guiding her feet, Amyla moved into the pediatric ward, her ears picking up the faint sound of an argument amongst the usual playful squeals of children and the cries of frightened young ones, the normal background noise of this particular hospital wing. She moved toward the receptionist desk and flashed her badge at the nurse, who merely waved her past and through the door into the back offices. No sooner had she gotten back there when the argument reached her ears, loud and clear.
"How can there be no parent?! This is... this is... no. There must be a parent! How could you have just found this kid out in the waiting room?!" the pediatrician was arguing with the nurse, whom Amyla could see was clutching an infant carrier in both hands. The pediatrician seemed to be waving around a letter.
She also could hear the sounds of a distressed infant coming from the carrier, which made her step in the middle almost instantly. Gods, loud people irked her sometime. "All right, all right! I could hear you from out there! What happened?" she asked, glaring at the younger doctor when he dared to protest her intrusion. She glanced over into the carrier and was surprised to see that the little infant had tiny demonic headwings, as well as similarly demonic black wings on his back. She frowned, vaguely listening to the nurse's explanation of finding the child alone out in the waiting room. Well, that infant was faintly familiar, but from where, she didn't know. mistalina13 So off to the hospital they went. By this time Nymue was crying louder, though the sound was a little muffled as he was cuddled up to his mother. The tiefling was already distressed by not knowing how to help Nymue. She rubbed the boy's back as they walked in.
Shidiomi walked along beside his mother, his feline tail flicking back and forth in agitation. His little brother never got this upset for seemingly no reason. Hopefully it wasn't something bad. He stuffed the shopping bags one inside the other so they could be carried in one arm. Amyla Edana While the pediatrician and nurse continued to fight over liability, responsibility, and just generally over pride, Amyla flipped open the paper that the other doctor had been waving. She was tired and thus only read scattered bits. Hectic life... not able to care.... give Alendan to his mother.... whuh? Amyla's thoughts came to a screeching halt, and she peered at the paper, reading over it more thoroughly. Alendan? That was a familiar name. She did a brief sweep of her overfilled memory and came up with a big fat zero, though her curiosity was now fully around. Taking the poor, unhappy infant from the nurse's grasp and lecturing both nurse and doctor to fill out the proper reports, she shifted the infant carrier to her stronger hand and immediately scooted through the back hallways of the hospital, on a beeline for the hospital files office.
Along the way, she puzzled, glancing down at the boy's odd (and faintly familiar) appearance, the stuffed tiger he clutched tightly against his chest, and the bright red blanket he clutched close. He seemed obviously distressed and unhappy, and by the time she reached the files office, she had already decided to take him home, could his mother not be found. She looked back at the note, frowning. No, no name was given, besides his. Alendan.... a good name. Not a common one, either. She gave the receptionist at the officer her hospital ID and briefly explained the situation. "Look up kids born here in the last year. First name, Alendan. Male." She carefully picked the boy up out of the carrier, looking him over for any identifying marks of any sort. On a whim, she added a final search criterion. "Add in 'tiefling' as possible race or species. Wings remind me of something..." mistalina13 They headed in the elevator after getting directions to pediatrics from the nurse at the reception desk. Thankfully she wasn't much interested in chatting. Mistalina rocked Nymue and sang softly to him to at least try to get his tears to stop.
Shidiomi hit the button on the elevator and leaned against the railing in the back. He mostly spent the time hoping the elevator didn't stop between where they were and the chosen floor. Amyla Edana While waiting for the receptionist to search through the records, Amyla cuddled the infant against her chest. He was cute, in a rather demonic sort of way. Of course, she was biased to prefer her own kids, but he was definitely a cute little thing. She smiled down at him, careful to not disturb him too much and ready to put him back in his carrier should he start to look upset. Now that the yelling was far behind him, he seemed considerably calmer, though still a bit unhappy. She couldn't blame him. If she were frightened and alone, she'd be antsy too.
After a seemingly interminable wait, the receptionist came back. "No kids by that name," she said, shaking her head.
Amyla frowned. That wasn't right. Everyone in town came to this hospital to have kids, and all kids born with midwives or at clinics were registered here as well. Unless... "Check multiples. Maybe he had siblings," she told the receptionist, shifting little Alendan's weight. Alendan... why was that name so damnably familiar?! mistalina13 Thankfully the elevator only stopped once, though it still irked the catboy. He stayed quiet thankfully and cuddled against his mother, with ears half flattened and tail nearly bristling.
Nymue had gotten a hold of Mistalina's hair again and she'd given up trying to dislodge the toddler from it even though he pulled more than she'd like. He still cried, but since it seemed he needed to catch his breath his sobs were quieter for the moment.
They walked out of the elevator once the doors open, heading straight for the nurses station to see what inevitable paperwork needed to be done to get Nymue seen.
"Brother..." The little tiefling whimpered again. Amyla Edana While Amyla paced and comforted Alendan, waiting still for the records to be searched, the nurse who'd found Alendan in the pediatrics waiting room barely an hour before was back on duty, fussing with paperwork and getting the desk back in order now that her incident report was done. She was halfway through one stack of files when she spied the threesome on approach. Her brow furrowed as the headwings struck a chord in her memory, but she faintly brushed it off. "Hello. Here for an appointment?" she inquired politely, trying to push the abandoned infant further from her mind, despite the grumbling she could still faintly hear from the back office, where the doctor was still filling out his own report.
After another long wait, Amyla was relieved to see the receptionist returning with a smile and a file,. "You were right. Multiple. Twins, part tiefling. Alendan was one of them, and he has a brother, Nymue. Mothers are listed as Mistalina-"
Whatever else the receptionist recited was lost on Amyla as the doctor gave herself a mental headslap for idiocy. Mistalina... that was why the name sounded familiar, as well as did Alendan's appearance! After berating herself severely for having a memory that had more holes than a good swiss cheese, she came back to the present to realize that the nurse receptionist was still reciting a litany of things about the twins. Birth weight... yes, that was incredibly relevant. She sighed. mistalina13 "I'm not actually...my son, Nymue, doesn't seem to be feeling well. This was the closest place to go. Maybe it's just something that we ate today that's gotten his belly upset...." Mistalina was a little frazzled, but still manged to keep calm. She didn't even realise who she was talking to.
Nymue twisted in his mother's grip. "Bro-ther?" Red eyes scanned the room and he continued to sniffle and whimper periodically but he seemed to have calmed down some. Amyla Edana The nurse wasn't a genius, but she was smart enough to know an emotionally distressed child when she saw one. She was midway through reaching for a clipboard with paperwork when the phone behind her desk rang. "Errr... I'll get you a basic medical form to fill out, ma'am, so he can see the doctor. Excuse me a moment," she told Mistalina, passing the other female the clipboard before answering the phone.
Before the nurse could even get out the standard hospital greeting, Amyla, on the other end of the line, cut her off. "I got a name. I need you to look up a file for me on a Nymue Norovir. He probably has a record there in pediatrics," she said, hoping that the file would be able to cough up contact information for Mistalina. She glance down at Alendan, who was clutching his tiger and lying rather peacefully in the carrier on the seat next to her.
The nurse pulled the phone from her ear and stared at it for a moment, glancing in Mistalina's direction. Hadn't the woman just said 'Nymue'? Shrugging it off, she brought the phone back to her ear. "Nymue Norovir? I'll look in the files for you. Is that the baby I found?" mistalina13 Mistalina rubbed Nymue's back, noting the fact that he seemed somewhat soothed for the moment. "Nymue Norovir is this little one.." She kissed the little tiefling's head. "...normally he's into mischief...."
Nymue's tail curled around his mother's arm again and tried to squirm again a little.
Shidiomi had found a chair to plunk himself in for the time being while they waited. Amyla Edana The nurse, now turn between Mistalina's statement and Amyla's instructions on the other end of the phone line, looked rather frazzled. She blinked in shock and then said into the phone, "Just one moment, Dr. Raikes." She covered the mouthpiece with her free hand and looked up at Mistalina. "Nymue Norovir is your son?" She looked at the child in the other female's arms, trying to process.
Down at the other end of the hospital, Amyla finally handed the phone back over to the receptionist, not keen on waiting. "I'll just go up there," she muttered before picking up Alendan's carrier in one hand and the file folder in the other, starting the all-too-long trek back towards pediatrics. Gods, this was a long walk. mistalina13 "Yes, Nymue Norovir is my son. My name is Mistalina Norovir. Nymue and his brother were born at this hospital." Mistalina frowned slightly, tail twitching in agitation. The woman in front of her was beggining to upset her at his point. What was all the confusion about anyway? Amyla Edana The nurse was now completely confused, and she put the phone back to her ear to demand an answer from Amyla on the other end, only to find herself listening to a dial tone. She put the phone down, but before she could pick it up again to call back, Amyla appeared through the door behind her, still carrying Alendan and the file.
"Sorry. Thought I'd just come up here and grab it whi- uhhh." Amyla stopped mid-sentence, her blue eyes widening as she spied Mistalina through the window of the nurse's station. Well. This was an interesting coincidence.
Or... not.
The nurse regained her voice first. "Errr... this is Mistalina Norovir, and that's Nymue Norovir. Who did I find?" she inquired, looking down at Alendan in the carrier.
Amyla managed a smile of greeting for Mistalina, though it looked a bit tired and strained. "Hello, Mistalina. I've got Alendan here." mistalina13 Silver eyes went wide and she swallowed hard. "Alen....Alendan?" Mistalina's hands shook slightly and she shifted Nymue in her arms. The little tiefling twisted and squirmed more when he heard his brother's name. "...he...he...he's here?"
Shidiomi looked up when he heard the uneasiness in his mother's voice and got up from the chair. He padded over, tail still twitching, after leaving the bags behind. Amyla Edana After quietly telling the flabbergasted nurse to call Child Services to report the abandonment of the child, Amyla nodded at Mistalina. "Yeah, I have him here. Hold on a second, and I'll let you hold him." She glanced about for something lending more privacy and disappeared back into the nurse's station. She opened up the first exam room, pleased to find it empty, and then opened the door out into the waiting room.
"Oh.... hi, Shidiomi," she said, managing a smile for the little boy as she spied him lurking behind Mistalina. She gestured for them to come back, still holding Alendan and the carrier in her other hand. She could hear the infant beginning to squirm and fuss, and she wanted him in Mistalina's arms soon. Poor boy was probably terrified. "Come on back here. Quieter and more private." mistalina13 Mistalina nodded and walked back with Amyla. "I can't believe Caitlyn would do something like this." Her demeanor remained calm, but her voice alone did enough to show her anger. She stepped into the exam room and sat down on a chair, caught somewhere between anger and shock.
Shidiomi sat down on the chair beside his mother and took the squirming red headed tiefling from her arms. He hoped having Alendan back for good would soothe his his mother's nerves finally.
Nymue twisted in his brother's lap. "Bro-ther!" He pointed and pouted, little tail flicking back and forth. Amyla Edana Amyla gave Mistalina a saddened look as she closed the exam room door behind them. "I didn't believe people could do things like this either. But after this job.... I don't know if I'm surprised anymore. Disappointed, horrified, aghast.... not surprised." She gave an unhappy sigh and set Alendan's carrier up on the exam table, carefully lifting the infant and bringing him to Mistalina to put him in her arms. "I hate to burden you with this now, but we do have to call Child Services when something like this happens. They're not going to fight your custody of him, but... we have to report it." She shook her head. Gods, this was a mess. "I'm just glad she left him here."
She heard Nymue's voice and glanced over at the little boy, grinning a bit at his enthusiasm. "Yeah, that's your brother." The woman straightened, remembering her own twins at home. Damn. Aiodhan would forgive her, but the girls would fuss. Poor things. mistalina13 Mistalina craddled Alendan carefully and started to cry. She hadn't seen him since the day he was born and Caitlyn had taken him from her. "Alendan...I'm your Mommy...do you remember me?" He managed a weak smile and kissed his forehead. "It's alright...Amyla."
"Maybe that's why Nymue got fussy, he knew...Alendan was close..." Shidiomi piped up and finally let Nymue lean over to get a better look at his brother.
Alendan was still relatively small, but his eyes were bright and he smiled somewhat now. He reached and grabbed Mistalina's hand. Amyla Edana Amyla let Mistalina cry and cuddle her son in peace. Gods, it was nice when these things turned out for the better. It tore her to pieces every time they had another abandoned kid pass through the hospital to be treated and put into foster care. It made her wish she had enough room to take them all.
It made her even more grateful to see that Alendan seemed physically unharmed by his ordeal. She knew he'd probably bear emotional scars, but those, she couldn't help as much with. Psychiatry was not her specialty.
She smiled at Shidiomi and Nymue. "I'd believe it. Twins seem to know what's up with each other, even if they're not close together. My girls always know what's wrong with the other one." She shook her head, not sure whether it was coincidence, providence, or some kind of miracle. "I'm just glad you all got here." mistalina13 "I'm just glad he's alright...I haven't heard from Caitlyn at all." Mistalina sighed and nuzzled Alendan. "Did he have a note with him or anything?" Amyla Edana Amyla nodded at Mistalina's question, glancing over at the file she carried in and plucking the folded note of the top of it. "Yes, she left this. I kind have had to guess and search from there," she said. "Pretty simple." She passed it over to the other female. "There was just that, the carrier, the blanket, and that little stuffed tiger. He was upset but really quiet most of the time. I held him for a bit to calm him down, but I'm pretty sure he didn't want me." She chuckled faintly at that. mistalina13 Mistalina read it and rolled her eyes. "Figures. Caitlyn was never really dependable. At least I have my boys back now." She put an arm around Shidiomi and Nymue. "All of them." Amyla Edana Amyla smiled at that. It was moments like these that made her job worthwhile. "I'm glad you have them all together." She glanced up at the door as she heard a knock and a muffled voice announce "Child Services. Can I come in?". She turned to head for the door, turning back to face Mistalina as she rested a hand on the doorknob. "If you need anything at all, anytime, call me, okay?" She smiled and then opened the door to let the overworked public employee in.
