[~Metal Head~] ..::I can't stand the victim in you::..Yeah he's in college xD;
AND NOW I FIND OUT HE LIKES WRESTLING.
What's going onnn!
DDDx ..::Infecting everything that I do::..Age differences can change everything. I don't know if you should pursue him or not, to be honest with you. There is some much that you guys won't have in common as much as you will. There will be too many differences between the both of you, that I don't know if it will actually work out. I would like to say that age doesn't matter when it comes to love, but I think that only applies to age 18 and above. Anyhow, if you really want him, go for it. He may find your honesty refreshing and decide to give it a try. If it doesn't work at this juncture, then it never will.

Erik of the PWG Now for an actual real issue. I can never seem to sum up the courage to ask someone out or tell them my feelings. My age or older, doesn't matter can never get the courage. And why not? What's stopping you? I kind of think this like you're afraid to walk on a sidewalk because you think it will open up and swallow you whole. But that doesn't happen. Find someone you can trust, a parent, a close friend, or even the school psychologist, if they have one, and just spill your guts. Tell them that you need to talk and tell them everything that you want to say. I have yet to meet a person who is mean-spirited in the face of someone wearing their heart on their sleeve.

Floating Abstraction Gluesniffa Floating Abstraction Gluesniffa I'm 87% positive I have an undiagnosed attention probl..... I'm thirsty. confused You may find a professional who disagrees, but I believe a lack of attention is caused by a lack of interest. You just don't find the things around you that interesting, yes? You want things to be more exciting, more involving, what have you, and so you cast your mind around looking for it, and when you don't find anything, you start going in circles (mentally). I don't know if it will work for you or not, but the best way I find to cure this sort of thing is a good book. You might find something different, but I can almost guarantee you that you don't need a bottle of pills to solve it. I should have clarified I was talking about school only.... ninja Don't worry about school. The most important thing is to make sure your grades are good. The rest you can just toss out the window. School doesn't mean anything until you start college. Thus the problem. If I can't pay attention my grades won't be good. I need my classes to be exciting, like in my History class, we never open our book. He talks the whole class but he talks with emotion so I understand it and gives examples and things, and I understand. Then in math for example he talks the whole class has a boring voice, writes things on the board in a disorderly fashion, I can't concentrate at all. Then my parents yell at me for it and I have a severe migraine problem which coulkd be caused by stress which everything I just listed can cause that and everything and ugh. I also kind of live in a shadow of my brother. Not saying my parents love him more but I swear even thoguh thye deny it, expect me to be more like him or want me to be. Not personality wise but like academically and mentally wise. You know what I'm saying? And with all the migraines I have mass amounts of absences and right now I might not get credits for Math and Health, but health is only half the year anyway. But honestly, I'm a good student I can get good grades but my life is pretty much a mess right now, and I feel bad saying that because tons of people have it way worse than me.

Floating Abstraction Braiddan More Paranoia than fear of being inferior The same remedy applies. You have nothing to be paranoid about. Allow your mind to find out if what you believe is really true or not. Expose yourself to the danger that you perceive, and see if it has teeth or not. I believe you find that what you fear shrinks back considerably if you stand and face it. I can try it.

Ack, too many at once! lol. Your problem is that you are trying to define yourself in terms of what other people want. Don't do that. Define yourself, through your actions, in terms of what you want. If you don't do well in math, so what? It's not your parents taking the class, it's you. The important thing is to pass and move on. High school and below never has any lack of bad teachers, so what you have to do is remember that your main objective is to get by for the present, and be the person that you want to be. Don't be your older brother. You're not him. Maybe you're not as smart as he is, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you can do things that he cannot. See what I'm saying? Your greatest value comes from being yourself, not being who others want and think you should be.

Kiidd Ok, being serious now. I procrastinate on homework a lot. I do everything in the last minute. Why do I do that? Most likely because you want to do something else instead of homework. Like you want to be on the internet, or on a video game. I always look at it this way. When I do my homework first (and I still have homework, since I'm in college), I have time afterwards to do what I want to do. Also, the quality of my work seems better when I do it right away, as I'm usually in the frame of mind that I want to do it, and I'm concentrating. When I'm under the gun, then I'm doing it because I have to, and I may not want to, so the quality of work goes down in that case.

I just think people want me to be like him and I don't want to be. I mean my parents seriously aggrivate me about school every night, every minute it's always you know I heard this if you don't do this and blah blah blah. The more I hear of it the less motivated I am to doing things like school, and things that relate to that. I've tried explaining it to them but it doesn't work, it doesn't click they still nag me about it every five minutes.

You've tried talking to them and it doesn't work, right? Parents can be so understanding. [/sarcasm] What I would suggest is a blow-up. Get their attention. Yell and scream and throw a fit. Tell them that you're doing fine in school and you are sick and ******** tired of having them nag you about it. If they punish you for it? Then basically they're trying to micromanage your life. In which case, you can't let them. I have found, through long experience, that people on control you as much as you let them control you. The problem might be that you haven't stood up for yourself enough. Try taking control once in a while. I'm not saying your parents will like it, but this is about you, not them.
