I clearly don't wear Damascus Armor around in RL. If I had the gold I would try to dress my avatar in gothic clothes...Because well, thats how I dress in RL. I think that a person's avatar might resemble how they look in RL, or how they wish they looked in RL. It could even be showing a certain personality trait. In any case, it does resemble them in some way.

chokolatcherry As for my avatar, it reflects mainly my personal tastes in RL. I try to wear both mildly elegant yet dark. That is my style. That's what all of Gaia pretty much says. My avatar pretty much IS me. If I could, I'd have a monkey hanging off my leg and carry around a baseball bat in a heartbeat. I'd LOVE to be a bl to dress like my avatar. By the way, there is not such thing as "emo goth". You are either emo, or goth.

I really don't care what people think about me. I am mostly thought of as a "freak" or as an emo at school, but I'm not. I feel the same way about Gaia avatars.

I think that some people do try to put forth a stereotype on Gaia.... But not all people. Personally, I hat Stereotypes and I think people are unique. You shouldn't classify them. I don't like when people purposely put out these....I don't know..... attitudes, where they are obviously trying to make a name for themselves in someway. I wonder what people could say about my avatar as a reflection of my personality and how I am in the real world. Hrm..... idea

I personally have no problems with labels. A lot of people class me as a geek, I consider my self a geek, why shouldn't they? If someone for some reason wants to call me a chav or emo, I'd be a little taken aback as to just why they'd think that, but it wouldn't bother me. You think I'm a chav, good for you.

I'm having trouble explaining the concept to others. I started making my avatar a lot like how I'd like to look and dress, but have gotten into the fantasy part. Either way, the avatar is just pixels.

Sighren Do you think it's wrong of people to judge other people by the way their gaian avatar looks? If you saw someone in "gothic" clothes, does that automatically make them "gothic" to you in your mind? Just a random thought I had. . . Actually.. Yes, I do judge people on their Gaian Avatars. But, I dont do it in the sense you speak of. If omeone has an avatar thats all black stuff, and looks completely awesome (say, the organization ofthe avatar, the conbination of items, the way they compliment eachother, or the fact that none of the items FLOOD any one area of the avatar). Thats what I judge on. If it looks just way too crowwded, my opinion of the person degrades, because that obviously means they think having more items is the most important thing, rather than making the avatar actually look well. I dont know, its a thing I have when dressingmy avatar. I hate it when the colors clash, or when items clash, so I will pick one or the other. This avatar.. I actually wish I could change the Gwee color to Blue, or Black, Grey, or something like that, but really I needed the Gwee for the Dragon aspect, so I dont really care. I did care quite well though when I got those Damascus Armors. Took me forever to figure out how to adhere those to my avatar in a competent manner.

Yes, yes it would. xd Also, a Chav is a working class urban estate person who wears cheap sports gear as a fashion and a hood for no apparant reason, enjoys hanging around newsagents making fun of folk not like them, drinks cheap alcohol and cider because it's 'buzzin' and enjoys dog fighting. Though there are the exceptions, they sometimes make fun of people like them too. I've heard them compared to many American sub-cultures, but I honeslty wouldn't know what to compare them with. Being looked down on from other sub-cultures, yeah, I guess you could compare them to rednecks and trailer park persons.
