Things had became pretty quiet after the dust settled down, and Sei had gotten used to having his mother around. In fact, Shina was now closer than she had even been. While it seemed normal to any other children to live under the same roof than their mother, for the fa'e it was something of a mindblowing concept.
To be a real, actual family... At least as close as it could be. Things always seemed to complicated.
In spite of those thoughts, the fa'e smiled and wriggled his legs a hair, sending the dark infant setteled in his lap in a fit of happy giggles. Alden seemed to finally have started to settle down into a decent sleeping pattern in the nights - he no longer quite woke him up as much as he used to do. He also could hold his head up on his own, which he was actually doing at the moment, odd glowing green eyes locked to equally odd gray ones.
Alden also seemed to be more comfortable with other people, expecially Zero and Shina. This allowed him to go and recover some sort of sanity while the older, more experienced women had their go with the dark child without having their eardrums screamed straight out of their heads.
It was odd how everything seemed to settle. He hadn't expected it to be... so easy in despite being so hard, but this was only the start, really. Yet... Yet everything seemed to go well.
Maybe...
Maybe this could work out, after all. This wasn't something he was used to do, but... Maybe he had a chance of doing this right, with the help given from others.
