I really don't think that he would even HAVE one. Not ever, really. Because, if he still has to deal with convincing people that he is either, GONNA KEEEEEEELLLL ALL YOOOOUUU, or that he..erm, won't, he wouldn't have the time.
Now, a stray animal just coming and going, just 'visiting' because Gaara leaves food out for it seems more like what would happen. Like, they have their own agendas, but they have some sort of 'understanding' of each other.

I think he should have a panda! They're adorable and people love them, but they can be threatening if given the right motivation! They'd be perfect for each other!

a panda would be cool but I thimk that Gaara would look badass on a dragon that flies over the desert and stirs the sand with it's wings...sorry had a sweet visual in my head

i'd be Gaara's pet..ahh j/k, but i think if me and him started a family...we'd be good with a dog..and maybe a parot..to like repeat all of Gaara's ausome phrases "i'll say it again..if u get in my way..I'll Kill You"

i would say a pokemon or something independent that can walk along side him (or let him ride it O.o) a tiger does seem like something thatwould go well with him, i could see him with an embrella on a chabokabo tho... it does sound nice if he had some mystic beautiful bird type thing that he could whisle and it would swoop down out of no where and take him where ever.. But it seems more realistic to me now that...he wouldnt have a single pet...but more...the world is his pet, as in, Nature belongs to him, and when ever he wants it to, he can call it apon him, but yet, he does not control them, and they do not control him, it is their choice.. biggrin haha O.o

i think a panther of a tiger. or a cat. i can't imagine gaara as a dog person. kankuro i can. temari looks like a ferret kind of person. oops. sorrry. offtrack.

I believe that gaara would own a bird of prey or feline of some sort. They are independant and would take care of themselves. They would also provide company for gaara's lonely heart.
