Once Mkimya heard 'Go' she bounded towards the tree. She loved to run, so she was built for it.
She based her running more on the distance of her strides as she passed the lioness. She grinned as she was running and paced herself to make it to the tree.

Noyana pushed herself to run faster, but couldn't manage to get her legs to move fast enough. She tagged the tree after the klipspringer, and chased after her, heading back towards the rock.
Noyana had been beat, however, by the time she got back. Mkimya was much faster than she.
"You're really fast!" Noyana said between breaths. She had run hard, and sat down hard, still panting. "Good job," Noyana said, happy to have a record to try to beat.

Mkimya was panting lightly as well. "Good Race," she said. "Maybe we'll race again some day..."
Mkimya grinned. "But for now, I've got to go home. My Mom's probably away right now. She took a deep breath. "I'll see ya when I see ya!" she said with a big grin and starting towards home.

"I'll see you later Mkimya!" Noyana called, not sure whether she really would or not. She hoped she would. Noyana watched her new friend bound off, then turned and headed home herself. She could only hope she'd make it home before sundown.
