Chalibaeus Holy s**t, can anybody say White Weenie? White's getting its staple Mirrodin flyer back (Skyhunter), and gets Soul Warden (possibly one of the most powerful white weenies ever printed, next to Mother of Runes) thrown into the mix. Paladin en-Vec is a ******** house, Peace of Mind saves games, and Blinking Spirit is just plain fun. Sacred Ground's coming back, so my sideboard can keep Ponza on its toes. Add in all of the Kamigawa goodies and this T2 rotation is going to be fun. I can't wait for the new block to roll around. I personally think a sort of mono white control will ensue...All those cards like the antelope and the land tax spell...gifts of something...i dont remember...But use those and like wrath....and some other stuff....I dont know, i dont play white...but it'll definatly be a dominate color...

White really does look good, add armageddon and you have the white weenie decks of the old days.
I still think the huge mana accelerating cards like kodamas reach and sakura tribe elder will help to make more powerful multi-colored decks. Plus llanowar and utopia tree will be around to speed things up.
The card i'm loving right now: will-o-the wisp
Who could ask for more, a regen flying blocker. Just add jitte and deal some early damage. I think black is going to be freakin awesome.

they all are incredibly powerful. but different from the other editions, this one doesn't have any theme. and most of the cards are from onslaught forward. i find it hilarious that two COP's were reprinted but only two. even though story circle is essentially a COP, a lot of the cards are very randomly chosen. i mean no real order to it. the older editions followed staples. this should be a editoin like no other...especially cause about 50% are from after seventh. and most of eighth was the older sets

G/B/U/W with every tutor possible, Kokusho, Mana Accel, Final Judgement, Wrath of God, Yosei, Eternal Witness, etc etc etc etc. Eventually I'm going to get a 260 card Battle of Wits list up here...but I'm too lazy right now. That'll take, like, a half hour or so. Just take those colors, find the best cards, make 1/3rd of the deck land, and there ya go..that should be it.

The problem about White Weenie is that it was Armageddon that really locked down a win. Though I cannot count out WW, WW isn't going to be dominant because of the lack of a way to really stop the opponent from churning out creatures.....aka Armageddon.

Just the fact that they have a 200+card deck and seeing them *try* to shuffel in RL would be hilarious(I was not a magic player during the times of the original Battle of Wits decks sweatdrop ) Seriously I just want to build a 260 card deck after 9th, without battle of wits in it. xd It would be worth it just to see my opponet say "Ill Cranial Extract Battle of Wits!" And laugh as he searches my deck for the 4 nonexistant copies of it xd

Though I cannot count out WW, WW isn't going to be dominant because of the lack of a way to really stop the opponent from churning out creatures.....aka Armageddon. Ive been messing the idea (with opposite pain lands returning) The idea of red white weenie. You basically make normal white weenie but with Thoughts of ruin as your armagedon. Im not sure of what other red cards to put in but if anyone has any ideas then let me know. Wouldnt it be awesome to see my red/white weenie idea rise into tier 1? I would love it...and take ALL the credit. All of you are my proof, i said it here first. mrgreen

There really aren't any good red weenies...red genju if you could get an early mountain, goblin cohort comes to mind. Thats about it....

I'd only run Goblin Cohort and Hearth Kami for weenies, if at all. 3 Thoughts of Ruin, Aether Vial, Battlefield Forge, etc etc. The deck is viable, but with Mirrodin rotating out (and taking a good chunk of weenie with it..and Aether Vial) it'll be harder to splash the color you want.

You'll really need a splash into a different color after Mirrodin rotates out...the lack of swords and bonesplitter are going to be difficult on the archtype. I'm thinking maybe random things for backup. Thoughts, Torrent of Stone, and Glacial ray come to mind...Hearth Kami in the sideboard. I dunno...right now I'm trying to get a decent green or combo deck together for block/9th. All the decks I've been building run nothing from Mirrodin, and only run City of Brass and Mana Leak (will switch to pain-lands after 9th, though) as the non-COK-block cards.
